Role Summary:

Global Health 5050 is seeking a hands-on Head of Operations to support the professional running of the charity. The successful candidate for this post is expected to play an integral role in contributing to the growth of GH5050, as well as taking a leading role in managing the day-to-day and longer-term operations of the charity.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual who is able to switch seamlessly between strategic thinking and in the detail execution. Role Responsibilities:

● Support the leadership of GH5050 and the key organisational management decisions that need to be made for the effective growth and operations of the charity.

● Ensure effective internal communications by facilitating clear, consistent, and timely information sharing across all team members.

● Own the candidate experience of our team from recruitment to onboarding, learning & development through to performance management and reward.

● Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure legal compliance for a fair and equitable workplace, using external experts (currently Safe HR) as needed.

● Ensure the quality and effective operation of internal policies, including keeping core policies up to date, developing new policies, organising the review of existing policies.

● Maintain the risk register and monitor and deliver priority activities to mitigate risk.

● Own the implementation of a new organisation-wide programme management tool, ensuring seamless integration and securing team buy-in through effective communication and training initiatives.

● Support the Co-CEOs to engage with the board of trustees. Prepare documents for board meetings; liaise with trustees to fix dates and meetings; support the effective operation of board meetings; develop proposals for trustee engagement; take minutes of board meetings and follow-up on action points; support the recruitment and onboarding of new trustees to the board.

● Manage the operations functions including office rental agreements, our IT systems and providers, other suppliers of goods and services (insurance, HR, finance). Provide any other general operational and administrative support as appropriate, within the general scope and level of the post.

● Ensure that GH5050 complies with legal and other statutory regulations, including leading and managing Charity reporting requirements to the Charity Commission and other relevant bodies and undertakes ongoing risk assessments and proposed mitigation measures as required.

● Lead on Annual Returns to the Charity Commission in collaboration with the Finance Manager and Trustees and ensure timely and accurate reporting to HMRC.

● Work with Deputy Director and the Finance Manager on the management of the financial resources and project grants of the Charity, ensuring that all expenditure complies with funder and legal regulations.

● Direct line management of Finance Manager and Operations Executive. Support to ensure payroll, pensions, expenses, etc. are paid out in an accurate and timely manner and that new staff are enrolled in payroll / pensions etc.

Person specification: 

● Bachelors-degree qualification or relevant professional experience.

● Experience working in a similar or relevant role with a passion for the GH50/50 mission and where they can have impact.

● Experience in human resources, policy creation and GDPR.

● Experience engaging with NGO boards of trustees.

● Demonstrated proficiency in managing teams, some of whom are based remotely.

● Experience of working effectively in a team, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a wide range of partners across diverse contexts, including whilst working remotely.

● Experience working independently and flexibly. An ability to manage competing priorities and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. 

● Strong familiarity with MS Excel and proficient in using a wide range of software.

Main purpose of the role

- Provide leadership in delivering the Loveworks business plan in line with the overall Strategy

- Ensure that our beneficiaries and volunteers are at the heart of the Loveworks strategy and business plan.

- Ensure financial stability and growth of our operations and services to meet local needs

- Manage and develop staff (currently 4) and around 80 volunteers

- Oversee the operational running of the charity and provide holiday support

As Loveworks is a small team of part-timers you will be required to perform the roles of other team members including food bank and warehouse support and processing, fundraising and other responsibilities during some periods.

We’re looking for a motivated individual with an eye for detail and accuracy to join our growing team at Basis Yorkshire as Financial Admin Assistant. Basis are a unique and vibrant small charity working with women who sex work and women young people being sexually exploited. We need a new member of staff to support us processing regular financial transactions of the charity and supporting the Finance Manager to ensure the organisation is able to monitor its financial risk and compliant with financial procedures in close collaboration and supervision by the Finance Manager.

• Produce and send invoices for payments owed and monitoring of payments
• Reconcile income from bank statements with invoices (credit control)

This role will fill two very important functions:

Business Partner to Central Services - Supporting the head office functions to manage their budgets

FP&A - support the Senior Manager for FP&A to run the budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.

Work with Central Services (head office) colleagues to review their management accounts on a regular basis ensuring that risks are understood and actions are identified to mitigate these.
Support Central Services colleagues to get help from other relevant finance team members, this could include advocating with finance on behalf of Operations or supporting Operations to understand finance policies, concepts and processes.
Lead on budgeting and forecasting for Central Services.
Support the Senior FP&A Manager to lead the Group budgeting, forecasting and 30 year business planning processes.
Deputise for Senior FP&A Manager when required. This may include working with CFO on budgeting analysis or longer term modelling.
Lead on maintaining all budgeting and forecasting templates and reports. Identifying areas of improvement and ensuring that the templates are kept relevant as the organisation develops
Support with financial evaluation of new business opportunities and their impact on Look Ahead's long term financial viability.

About you:

Previous experience of planning and budgeting and delivery of key reports in a large organisation.
Be capable of managing (sideways and upwards) senior individuals across multiple disciplines and have extensive, demonstrable people management experience and a clear understanding of the people implications and people agenda on the success of the business.
Financial expertise to understand requirements, produce reports, provide financial analysis and to identify underperformance and risks.
Confident, ability to lead, and communicate with others to influence business decisions and financial performance.
Meticulous, accurate and attention to detail
Experience in business modelling and financial forecasting.
Advance skills in using Excel and to learn specific planning systems such as Bricks

ShareAction’s Banking Standards team seeks to work with stakeholders such as banks, investors, and NGOs to make sure the banking industry take responsibility for their impact on people and planet. We have a history of campaigning on key aspects of banks’ climate strategies – such as their emission reduction targets or their fossil fuel policies – and we are gradually expanding our campaigning, research, and engagement work to other sustainability themes and banking regulation.

Position

What you’ll do (key responsibilities)

The research arm of the Banking Standards team ensures that ShareAction’s banking campaign is based on sound analyses and facts. Our Research Managers are responsible for analysing banks’ position on climate change, related industry standards, and market developments. Based on in-depth assessments, they formulate recommendations to strengthen banks’ commitments and inform engagement by investors and other stakeholders. Insights and recommendations are typically grounded in the following types of research:

• Investor briefings and short research notes reviewing climate-related commitments made by individual banks, either on a specific area of their climate strategy (e.g. in response to a new commitment) or across their climate strategy (e.g. to support a shareholder resolution or voting recommendation).
• Thematic reports and internal position papers reviewing how the European banking sector aims to address a specific issue and/or the relevant standards banks relies on (e.g. to inform engagement on new areas of work like green finance or refine existing campaign asks like fossil fuel policies).
• Banking surveys ranking European banks on their approach to climate change across are a range of themes (e.g. governance, climate targets, sector policies), in collaboration with the Financial Sector Research team.

The Research Manager is responsible for tracking banks’ commitments on an ongoing basis and ensure this information feeds into all types of research in a consistent and timely manner. This role closely collaborates with campaigners and support engagement efforts with research insights. They also lead on certain investor briefings, research notes, and thematic research under the supervision of the Senior Research Manager.

Specifically, the Research Manager leads on the following areas of work:

• Monitoring banks’ climate-related commitments on an ongoing basis and reflecting new commitments and updates in an internal database (‘banking tracker’) in a consistent and timely manner, enabling accurate and efficient uses across various research and campaigning activities. For example, the banking tracker will help streamline the pre-filling of banks’ individual questionnaires for the banks survey.
• Producing thematic research to inform ShareAction’s position and recommendations on climate-related issues. Initially, the Research Manager will conduct research on topics included in the banking survey but not covered by existing thematic reports (e.g. governance). This research will directly inform the development of the next banking survey questionnaire.
• Drafting investor briefings and similar research materials in close collaboration with campaigners to support engagement with focus banks, members of our investor coalitions, and journalists, amongst others.
• Presenting research to banks and other stakeholders including investors in meetings or webinars.
• Drafting responses to external consultations and taking ownership of consultations in specific areas of expertise.
• This role will be possibly required to line-manage and mentor one Senior Research Officer, addressing development needs and fostering their professional growth.

The Research Manager will also support other areas of work in the banking team, including:

• Delivering the banking survey (feeding into the research questionnaire, collecting data, and inputting into specific sections of the report
• Filing shareholder resolutions
• Drafting investor letters and AGM questions
• Among other operational needs (e.g. note taking during meetings)

The Research Manager will initially be contracted on a 12-month fixed term contract. We are aiming to make this position permanent; however, this is contingent on securing longer term funding for the role by the end of the 12-month period.

Essential

• Passionate about climate change, sustainability, and/or the role of the financial system in addressing these issues.
• In-depth understanding of climate change issues, particularly as they relate to financial institutions and preferably the banking sector.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to autonomously manage research projects, allocate tasks, and prioritise multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex quantitative and qualitative data, produce detailed reports, and summarise findings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to leverage Excel to produce research insights and/or manage data.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a wide variety of audiences and build productive working relationships.
• Team player who actively seeks opportunities to support colleagues and is willing to support other areas of work when needed.

Desirable

• Experience in managing or mentoring more junior members of staff.
• Good understanding of how private commercial banks operate and what products & services their offer to corporate and retail clients.

About the Role

In this strategic post as the Community Development Manager for Colchester you will lead and develop our Essex Pedal Power programme and work to develop your input into the business strategy across Colchester. You will play a vital role to ensure that the organisation’s contractual obligations and goals are achieved by collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery of interventions to promote active citizenship. You will co-produce with local communities, weaving in physical activity interventions in order to achieve sustainable outcomes by bringing people together to be better connected and networked.

You will need to work collaboratively and influence effectively across multiple agendas, to maintain an overview of engagement and impact whilst seeking to maximise opportunities for partnership development. We are looking for an individual that demonstrates clear leadership and the ability to influence and persuade across multiple disciplines and arenas.

You will report directly to the Essex Pedal Power Programme Manager and manage a team including a Project Lead, Community Connector and Bike Mechanic.

Main duties

1.To plan, develop and deliver high quality programmes, projects and interventions and ensuring all are in line with the overall strategy and objectives of the organisation and that they meet contractual obligations.

2.Manage the operational delivery and development of a range of funded programmes including the Essex Pedal Power programme with a focus on collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery to promote active citizenship and physical activity.

3.Manage and monitor the budget with finance representatives from TAWS and Active Essex and support the relationship management with existing funders and the identification of potential new funders.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We're looking for a temporary Face-to-Face (F2F) Manager in the North and East region. This is a fantastic opportunity within the RNLI to play a vital role in developing and growing the RNLI in-house F2F Fundraising team.

This role will be required to manage a team of face-to-face fundraisers who will sign up regular supporters within a defined geographical area and raise vital long-term funding for the charity. This will include opportunities to work alongside other specialist teams including our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards, playing an integral part in reaching both local and team income targets and contributing towards the wider objectives of the RNLI.

Your role

As a F2F Manager you will:

• Recruit, train and performance manage a team of motivated F2F Fundraisers.

You’ll be flexible and prepared to work out of office hours with considerable travel throughout the year, peaking through the summer months. Substantial annual leave during the summer would not be practical for this role.

• Proven experience and success in face-to-face fundraising. This will either have been gained working for a charity or a fundraising agency.

The Client Support Worker targets those who need the Foodbank on a repeated basis and offers a package of support to address the complex and often overwhelming challenges and crisis situations they are facing.  You will work with clients to give time, advice, advocacy and emotional support as well as providing personalised support.  This could include assisting them to access help with finances, debt, social isolation and other issues and connect them with other local projects which may be relevant. The Head of Counselling has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the clinical services, the recruitment of suitable counsellors, supervisors, and Strides HCC team to ensure the maintenance of high standards of service delivery. 

The role is an integral part of Strides, working with the CEO and other Heads of services to support the continuous development and delivery of services in line with Strides’ strategy. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide effective management and leadership of Strides HCC. The role focuses on the strategic development of the project, the financial management and financial sustainability of its operations, and the overseeing of all aspects of the clinical service delivery and clinical governance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To be accountable for all aspects of clinical governance in the service, reporting back to the CEO as required.

• Organise and chair the steering group meetings, review minutes and report back on actions and progress.

• Responsible for ensuring service(s) meet contractual, funding and legal obligations as applicable.

• To sustain existing and develop new business for HCC by raising the profile of HCC and by identifying, engaging,      and  building relationships with new clients and other mental health services.

• Develop professional networks and partnerships with a range of key stakeholders to aid service development.

• Anticipate and develop strategies to resolve service challenges or risks involving appropriate colleagues.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

• To set an annual operational budget for each service in conjunction with service managers, finance team and senior  management.

• Act as budget holder for designated area, responsible for monitoring and controlling assigned budget, taking              corrective action where appropriate, and reporting as required.

• Work with service managers to ensure all financial and administrative processes are delivered to a high standard      within policies and procedures.

• To identify possible sources of income, working with fundraising colleagues on sourcing funding for service                development.

SAFEGUARDING

• Be responsible and accountable for ensuring HCC fully embeds excellent safeguarding practice and are fully aware  of organisational safeguarding policies and procedures.

• Act as key source of support, advice, and expertise for safeguarding for the service.

• Together with the Clinical Manager act as points of contact for counsellors and supervisors in case of urgent clinical  questions/issues. 

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

• Create clear vision and objectives for service(s) under your leadership; empowering, motivating people to be fully      engaged and participate in the work and provide high standard clinical service.

• Through line management responsibilities, develop accountable service managers with clear expectations and          objectives, ensuring learning needs are assessed and met.

• To have regular, clear communication with direct reports and facilitate a ‘feedback loop’ to ensure your teams are fully  informed of organisational decision making and updates and team members are provided mechanisms to feed into organisational developments. 

• To ensure that staff operate at the level of competency specified for their posts; to coach, support and develop staff to enhance their levels of competency and to take effective steps to address underperformance.

• To work with service managers and HR team to ensure the best possible management of team members, ensuring    all matters are managed in line with Strides policies and procedures.
