The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Research and Policy Officer to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week; alternatively, we will consider part-time hours on a Job Share basis. The role is hybrid and based in Newcastle upon Tyne or within a commutable distance to our national Headquarters in the city.
A part of NEA’s Policy and Advocacy Directorate, you will work within our highly effective social research team as we focus on a decade of delivery that will ensure those on the lowest incomes and living in the least efficient homes receive the support needed to ensure their health and wellbeing are protected, but also one that guarantees a fair energy future for all.
The successful candidate will work and collaborate on the design, development and delivery of social research and evaluation projects that support the charity’s strategic aims and policy advocacy priorities. As well as undertaking mixed methods social research that foregrounds the lived experience of households, they will develop research-user and stakeholder relationships and integrate evidence-based insights from across the charity’s work programmes to influence and have impact across multiple areas of social policy and practice.
Hybrid working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.
What you will need to succeed
You will have demonstrable and applied experience in a social research role and hold a degree in a social science or related subject that included social research methods. You will be familiar and confident with both quantitative and qualitative methods and be highly motivated and purpose-driven, with a passion for research that leads to real-world impacts.
A compelling communicator you will be able to produce well-structured reports, and have excellent interpersonal skills, including experience of leading one-to-one and group interviews.
You will also have proven experience of analysis software, SPSS and Nvivo (or similar), and competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite/365 applications.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of NEA’s mission to eradicate fuel poverty.

This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.
Purpose of Role
As a PR Officer, you will play an important role in planning and delivering creative national and regional PR strategies for Comic Relief’s partnerships and fundraising campaign while leading the efficient running of Comic Relief’s busy Press Office.
You will work across a broad and exciting range of projects and strategic campaigns throughout the year that combine the worlds of entertainment, sport, and charity. Running Comic Relief’s busy Press Office alongside proactive PR campaigns is a responsibility shared by every member of the PR team. You will be required to take a leading role in the efficient running of the Press Office, which can include handling media enquiries as well as contributing and editing internal comms updates.

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Purpose of the Community Fundraising Officer role:
As Community Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in nurturing relationships with existing and prospective supporters, as well as overseeing a portfolio of community fundraising events and activities in order to increase donations. Attending fundraising events and networking will be a key part of the role, paired with a thorough understanding of Women’s Aid work, business plans and strategic priorities.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Community Fundraising Officer:
- To be responsible for a rolling calendar of events and activities. Providing fundraisers with tailored stewardship, resources, ideas and recognition for their event to maximise income and cultivate them to become a long-term supporter of Women’s Aid.
- To assist with the development and production of a range of fundraising stewardship materials including posters, our fundraising newsletter and annual thank you to donors.
- To work closely with key internal stakeholders both to understand and be able to package up their work into clear compelling asks for all stewardship documents.
- To ensure appropriate means of monitoring and evaluation of fundraising events and activities are established to feed into the fundraising team’s KPIs.
- To use the fundraising database to produce reports and analyse success rates, to feed into the fundraising strategy.
- To take responsibility for purchasing places for events through raising Purchase Orders and invoices where appropriate.
- To develop and manage relationships with fundraisers, encouraging the to become long term supporters of Women’s Aid.
What we are looking for in our Community Fundraising Officer:
- Knowledge of feminism, domestic abuse and the role of Women’s Aid
- Understanding of social media channels and their audiences

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.
We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) When someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and enthusiastic Philanthropy Officer to join a high performing and friendly fundraising team.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and organized Philanthropy Officer who will support the Head of Corporate, Philanthropy & Events to secure and increase income through the charity’s Major Donor strategy.

Principal responsibilities include:
- Research and identify potential major donors to build a strong list of prospects, matching against key fundraising priorities, to maximise opportunities and build a healthy prospect pipeline.
- Work with Head of Corporate, Philanthropy & Events to prepare and implement creative donor cultivation and stewardship plans to secure new donors and develop current relationships, including:
- Creative cases for support with associated budgets.
- Adapting information for specific donors using different approaches for different audiences.
- Developing engaging thank you letters and reports.
- Manage an agreed portfolio of major donor relationships and prospects, with the support of Head of Corporate, Philanthropy & Events, through excellent stewardship and tailored fundraising proposals.
- Take a lead role in development and implementation of a patron and celebrity stewardship plan.
- Provide timely and high-quality updates to donors on the charity’s activities and impact and value of gifts. Work with the Communications team to ensure that major donor supporters receive engaging and relevant marketing materials.

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide operational support to CAVA’s Health and Wellbeing Manager to support the delivery of the community engagement aspect of the REN Workplan which is identified through the REN Working/Steering Group. - Support the REN Working and Steering Groups with communications and marketing activities with various stakeholders (including with: VCFSEs; potential and existing volunteer Community Research Champions; updates to funders; and for various communication channels of the ICS)
- Support gathering of examples of good practice and presenting these case studies in various formats
- Support the team with gathering intelligence, and liaising with VCFSEs about capturing and sharing in an Engagements and Insights Atlas the research opportunities and learnings from across Coventry and Warwickshire
- Champion VCFSEs involvement in using their knowledge and understanding of issues related to addressing inequalities and under-representation, and improving health
- Support the REN with writing monitoring reports
- Circulate relevant material and agendas and take notes from virtual and in-person meetings
- Support the REN with the recruitment, on-going support, training, and organisation of virtual and in-person events for volunteer Community Research Champions
- Attend relevant meetings (in-person and virtually, as appropriate)
