Job Purpose - Facilities Manager - Projects 

The role holder will report directly to the Head of Estates whilst working closely with the Facilities Manager and the wider team, as well as operational colleagues.

The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of specific ad hoc estates projects, whilst also providing support to the wider Estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activity to ensure the development of an estate that delivers outstanding outcomes for the people we support, ensuring the portfolio is managed safely, cost effectively and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This role requires an individual with strong project management capability within an estate’s environment, with a demonstrable track record of delivery of projects on time, to Budget and to the requisite level of quality.

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates, the role holder will: 

• Lead the estates input in the expansion of the existing property footprint.
• Onboard new additions to the estate’s property portfolio efficiently and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with operational colleagues ensuring “best outcomes” are delivered for the people we support in the development and maintenance of the estate.
• Support the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activities.
• Be visible and on site to ensure the smooth running of projects and the timely resolution of issues. 

Dimensions

Whilst the role currently has no direct reports assigned, the level of project activity and the consequential resource requirements will determine any additional staffing needs. The nature of individual projects will determine this although it is anticipated that project spend will be circa £0.5m+ per annum.

Principal Accountabilities

Estates and Facilities Management 

• Responsibility: Act as the senior estates and facilities professional on project work assigned. 

• Project Plans: Ensure there is a clear and documented estates plan for each project assigned and lead the implementation of these plans to ensure best possible outcomes for the people we support. In the planning and delivery of projects, the role holder must ensure that due consideration is given to operational requirements. 

• Project Performance: Ensure a robust contract performance management framework is in place for each project. 

• Regulatory: Ensure all project work is undertaken in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements. 

• Resource Management: Manage and co-ordinate both AFG staff and external contractors in the delivery of projects. Where required mitigating actions/plans may need to be taken to ensure that projects are delivered to requirements. 

• Onboarding: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. property acquisition (both support with the identification of appropriate property and subsequent due diligence). 

• Expansion: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. the expansion of existing estates footprint. 

• Business Cases: Prepare business cases, feasibility studies for consideration by the Head of Estates and onwards by the Executive/Director team. 

• Business as Usual Estates Activity: The role holder will be required to work alongside the Estates Manager and the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual estates activity (including site visits, contract monitoring meetings, supervision of reactive repairs etc.), where project requirements mean the role holder has capacity to undertake this work. 

Financial Management

• Financial Performance: Manage project related budgets, ensuring projects are delivered to Budget, to the requisite quality and to time. 

• Procurement: Work closely with the Procurement team to source potential suppliers for services and ensure those services are sourced on a “Value for money” (VFM) basis, and in accordance with the terms of the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Tenders: Working closely with the Procurement function of the Charity, take the estates lead in tender activity where assigned, ensuring that activity is undertaken in accordance with the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Cost Reduction/Service Improvement: Lead in ensuring we are continually striving to reduce cost/improve service provision. 

• Commercial Acumen: Commercially savvy to drive continuous improvement opportunities (both financial and operational).

The primary objective of this role is to deliver a broad programme of market and commercial research and analysis to underpin AFG’s growth ambitions and to manage AFG’s commercial risks.

The role will shape and deliver a comprehensive and systematic approach to market analysis whilst also ensuring that AFG’s contractual obligations are clearly documented and understood.

About the Role

This is a strategically important role as AFG aim to positively impact more lives and drive business growth both in its current geographies and in new geographies.

The role will ensure that AFG’s growth plans are informed by high-quality research and analysis. This will include geographical analysis, the systematic review of key competitors, and key market trends both regionally and nationally.

The role will also ensure that key information is available to decision-makers covering existing contracts with commissioners and Service Level Agreements with housing partners.

About the Role

We are looking for a Day Service Co-ordinator to join our art studio team and support people living with brain injury in our day centre in Haggerston.

You will take responsibility for organising and delivering activities in the Submit to Love art studio, such as supporting members in creating new artworks, planning and delivering events and outings, and engaging members in a variety of other activities in response to their needs and interests.

The role also involves providing advocacy and support (key working) for up to 12 members and ensuring the smooth running of the day service as a member of the co-ordinating team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Activities in the art studio:

•  Support members to engage creatively and develop their personal artistic practise.
• Work alongside the studio manager, day service members and volunteers to plan and deliver events, including artist led workshops, exhibitions and open studios.
•  Plan trips to cultural events and experiences.

Key working:

• Act as key worker for up to 16 members, checking in regularly about their engagement in the centre and their general wellbeing, and supporting them with information, advice, and advocacy as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain contact with members’ families, carers, and relevant statutory partners to facilitate good communication and better provide appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including comprehensive individual risk assessments.

Day Service co-ordination:

• Work closely with colleagues and volunteers in the day service and other teams at Headway East London to create a welcoming, supportive, and stimulating environment for members.
• Share responsibility for practical tasks in the day service to ensure its smooth running.

Ruils is a user-led charity that supports disabled adults and people with long-term health and/or mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families.

We are working with the SWL ICB and local GPs to deliver an exciting new service within Hampton North. The Community Health and Wellbeing Worker will speak to households about health and wellbeing, alongside offering support to connect people to services and activities in their local community. The role aims to empower people to take control of their lives.

It involves working with people who may be experiencing a number of issues, so you will need outstanding listening and communication skills, empathy and enthusiasm. You will need excellent organisational skills, be adept at seeking out information for relevant community services and have the tenacity to help people achieve sustainable improvements in their wellbeing.

Main duties include:

• Managing a caseload of households, providing monthly home visits and providing a continuous point of contact for all members of the household.

• Engaging with community organisations and specialist services that provide support to ease the pathway for your clients.

The role

Working through a team, the Marketing & Fundraising Manager is instrumental in supporting Options vision and mission through clear strategic marketing, fundraising delivery as well as monitoring and reporting on its impact.

Key responsibilities

1.Ensure the development of a clear marketing and fundraising plan aligned with our strategic objectives and target audience to drive brand awareness, engagement, and income.

2.Work alongside agency partners to plan, execute and monitor integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns across on and offline channels.

3.Ensure brand consistency and integrity, including tone of voice across all marketing materials and communications.

4.Create engaging and compelling content including articles, blogs, videos, and graphics to promote our support and expertise and raise awareness of key campaigning topics.

5.Maintain a database of supporter, donors, and potential funders, maintaining accurate records that are kept up to date and information handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR regulations.

6.Ensure donor effective stewardship journeys are followed.

7.Maintain online fundraising platforms, social media feeds and associated communications tools alongside the Marketing Officer.

8.Lead, motivate and support the marketing team: Marketing Officer, Fundraising Coordinator, and Social Media Apprentice.

9.Oversee website content management ensuring, blogs, stories, and events are relevant and in line with our marketing and fundraising strategy.

10.Work alongside other departments such as the Community, Recruitment, and Finance Team to ensure the organisation runs smoothly.

11.Collect feedback from people we support, families and staff to ensure the continued development of the marketing and fundraising strategy.

12.Look for opportunities to increase our network of contacts, stakeholders, and volunteers.  

13.Support the Leadership Team in improving internal communication and brand alignment of all staff and people associated with Options.

14.Working alongside the leadership team to ensure that one-off projects are completed on time and accurately.

15.Remain up to date with current marketing trends to influence and remain relevant in a widely competitive third-sector market.

16.Prepare reports for the leadership team and Options trustees on project targets and outcomes.

17.Attend relevant meetings and work within Options, values and beliefs, policies, and procedures.

18.Represent Options at events as required.

Experience

1.Experience of professional fundraising, or similar experience in a marketing, sales, or business development environment.

2.Track record of setting and achieving income targets.

3.Experience of managing people.

Qualifications

It is desirable to have a relevant professional qualification – Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or Chartered Institute of Fundraising (IoF) - or working towards.

·Accessible language skills – it is essential that you have strong verbal and written communication skills and that our communication is accessible for the people we support and the general population; an understanding Easy Read guidance and inclusive language would be preferred.

The role as the Behaviour Consultant Lead will be to:

• Work closely alongside our support teams to conduct comprehensive assessment, intervention, and evaluations over the long term, developing positive behaviour support plans that enable therapeutic support to be delivered within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework. 
• Deliver PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training to our support teams. 
• Coach our support teams how to deliver excellent support, using approaches such as Active Support. 
• Support the team to develop skills in monitoring and evaluating outcomes, for example using the Periodic Service Review.
• Support the business development team with new referrals, ensuring that we are working within our defined model of support and developing that model to meet new needs where appropriate.

• Ensure that your work is always delivered through a trauma-informed lens, upskilling the team around you to consider the impact of trauma on their practice.

Our Clinical Assessment & Intervention Team (CAIT)

Led by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst and UKBA(Cert), we have highly specialised team of clinicians, including rehabilitation workers for the visually impaired and behaviour consultants. We assess functional vision and test for cerebral visual impairments, which can often be an overlooked establishing operation for behavioural challenges. As well as direct assessment and intervention to work to increase people’s opportunities in life, we train our support teams to meet the people we supports’ unique needs.  Our team members are committed to joint working with families, support teams and our NHS and local authority colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.

We work as partners with the residential or supported living teams to build plans that are accepted, operationally achievable, generalisable, and sustainable. 

Your experience & personal characteristics 

As you will be working with people in their own homes, residential and group supported living services, you must be confident engaging with diverse groups of people, family members and multi-agency professionals.  You need to be passionate about equality and equity, being able to see the potential for improvement and knowing how to guide the person we support and their team to achieve the best. You will already have experience working directly with people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, multi-sensory impairments, and people who may present behaviours that challenge.  You will be fluent in the use of applied behaviour analysis to devise ways that are simple but effective to measure baseline and on-going development.  You will be able to support our teams by putting plans into action through your direct modelling.

Your qualifications

This position requires a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field (such as Positive Behaviour Support) with at least two years of applicable experience; or Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with one year of professional experience. 

Candidates wishing to work towards their BCBA or UKBA(Cert) qualification will get their supervision as part of this role.
