About this post
We have a 1 Year Contract for a Service Manger (Wandsworth Day Opps) - 36 Hours Per week with a potential extension peding. You will be a creative and independent thinker, with excellent management skills, who is able to support and empower the staff and users of our services at our Wandsworth Day Centre to create a welcoming and supportive environment for adults living with learning disabilities.

Critical Values in the delivery of this role

Working Expectations

Job Purpose
The postholder will be responsible for two key organisational areas:
- Practice Education to an allocation of student social workers: 80% of workload
- Support with induction planning and administrative tasks relevant to the student placement programme: 20% of workload
The postholder will be responsible for providing student social workers with effective, high-quality supervision and support throughout their practice placements and maintaining accurate records of student work undertaken to inform holistic assessments of students’ practice. This role will entail stakeholder engagement both with internal leaders and external partners. The role will involve maintaining close working relationships and crossover workstreams with the Business Support Team, Health & Safety systems, and compliance responsibilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Student Social Work Placements:
• Maintain relationships with key placement providers through provision of high-quality practice education,
• Practice Educate placements for their entirety at the charity,
• Write reports relating to the above.
• Support a continual and iterative induction process with support when inducting students to all relevant systems – utilising experts across the organisation to deliver elements of the package,
• Work in partnership with Business Support to implement appropriate systems relating to e-learning and hand over to line management during induction,
• Support the arranging of accounts, in partnership with the Business Support Team to enable new users access to the organisation’s systems.

South East London Mind are working in partnership with Bridge Support and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Greenwich Mental Health Hub.This forms part of the new transformation of mental health services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich under the NHS Long Term Plan. The service brings together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.
The integrated team provides support to people with long-term mental health problems within a primary care and community mental health setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.
We are looking for a Mental Health Advisor with experience of working within mental health services including supporting prevention, recovery and self-management. Applicants should have experience of completing assessments, managing a diverse caseload, working in a busy work environment, and possess effective skills in communication. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and to show initiative is essential for this role.
The role will involve:
- Management of a diverse caseload
- Providing recovery-orientated individual and group-based support to adults with mental health problems
- Collaborative working with all partners involved in the Greenwich Mental Health Hub
- Undertaking holistic needs and risk assessments

Raising awareness of mental health in young people has never been more important, with one in six young people now reported to have issues with their mental health.
Our ‘Minds Up’ schools mental health, wellbeing and resilience project aims to help young people understand what mental health is, to recognise that they have mental health and need to take care of it, and to discover ways to protect their wellbeing and ask for help when needed.
The project is delivered across five London Boroughs: Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. We are looking for sessional trainers to deliver Minds Up workshops to schools in these boroughs. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can facilitate across Greenwich.
The role holder will facilitate weekly workshops across years 5 to 13 in primary and secondary schools, encouraging healthy debate and interaction around mental health and wellbeing.
Ideally with experience of working in schools, you will be confident in training young people around mental health and wellbeing, with a good understanding of mental health issues and how they impact on young people’s lives.
You must be well organised and flexible in terms of adapting to the course content, since this may vary depending on the audience. There may also be times when co-delivery of training sessions is appropriate.
Applicants must be flexible as this post will involve travel across our South East London boroughs, and working hours will vary in line with the school day.
Further detail for candidates:
The project is delivered term time across the academic year, with trainers delivering to a different student group each session. The sessional trainer role is responsible for facilitation of weekly training sessions and a small amount of session administration. All content and session plans are provided however, the ideal candidate is expected to be confident in adapting the session to the needs of students.
School continuity is important to the project, we ask our trainers commit to facilitating up to two 2-hour workshops each week in a local school. Both workshops will usually take place during a school day – for example a morning and a midday workshop.
Candidates will be expected to allocate 5-6 hours at each school, excluding travel. Please note, some trainings require an early morning start in line with the school day and therefore you may need to be able to arrive at the school by 8am.
A minimum availability of one 6 hour work day, per week (excluding travel) is expected for this role. Applicants must be available to attend our monthly Minds Up Advisory Board on Tuesdays at 4.30-6.30pm.

About the role:
The Gray's Inn Road supported accommodation project is a 16-bed short stay accommodation service which holds a critical position in the endeavour to address rough sleeping in the London Borough of Camden. The service, funded by the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities and the Greater London Authority, in partnership with One Housing Group and Camden council aligns with the strategic vision to make rough sleeping rare, brief, and non-recurrent in Camden. Although there is not a defined maximum stay, the service is designed to be a ‘short stay’ project and will aim to move people on into suitable housing options after 3-6 months.
As a night concierge, you will be overseeing the overnight running of the Gray’s Inn Road project. You will provide first contact and safeguarding to clients during the shift which will include controlling access to the building, dealing with emergencies, carrying out H&S checks and tasks and reporting or handing over any concerns noted during your shift.
Night concierges working in SHP accommodations involves supporting people experiencing multiple disadvantages such as homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, trauma, substance use and contact with the criminal justice system. Some of these clients may have high support needs and may present difficult or challenging behaviours. All night concierge will have access to advice and support from SHP’s Out of Hours Management On Call service.
Positions Available: 1 post available 42 hours per week (4 night shifts) and 1 posts available 31.5 hours per week (3 night shifts)
About you:
- A mature and non-judgemental attitude to working with a client group that may present challenging behaviour.
- A basic understanding of the often complex issues likely to be presented by the vulnerable people who use SHP services.
- The confidence to challenge appropriately, and the ability to use initiative and make reasoned and quick decisions within SHP’s policy and procedural framework.
- An understanding of Health and Safety at work and the likely issues to occur in a residential building.
- Good customer care skills, honesty, punctuality, integrity and ability to work alone without direct supervision.
- An ability to be self-servicing in the use of the computer to create notes and logs and to send and receive emails.

Ideally, you will have a knowledge of volunteering but most essential you will be a confident individual who can engage with people from all walks of life.
In addition to coordinating the volunteers, you will oversee some of the local community events and work alongside the CEO maintaining and developing relationships with Churches and community groups.

Job Purpose
The Carer Hospital Project Officer will play a crucial role in helping unpaid Carers to get the right support at the right time to help them access the appropriate Carer related support in the respective boroughs. This role works with individuals in a person centre way and support Carer needs by making it Personal, Coordinated and Enabling.
They will work closely with ASC Duty Social Workers and other partners in Health & Social Care to support Carers in the hospital and ensure they have the necessary information and support.
Key Tasks

Being present and visible within their allocated Hospital sites – to both residents/carers and staff

Being ‘expert’ in the statutory and non-statutory Carers support services available in their allocated area – and across NEL more broadly – recognising that many carers access Hospital sites outside of the borough in which they live (we will be developing a ‘directory’ of NEL wide Carers services as part of the project to support this)

Having a comprehensive understanding of the current and emerging legislation surrounding carers, their entitlements and the Statutory Carers Assessment process

Building and maintaining good working relationships with hospital staff – to promote best practice around the identification, support and recording of Carers (in line with the Carers Hospital Discharge Tool kit’). This could include the delivery of Carer Awareness training/sessions for Hospital Staff

We now have full planning permission to develop the site and build a purpose-built equine therapy centre which will allow us to double the number of young people who access the space.

To make this dream a reality we are looking for an experienced Capital Fundraising Manager to lead the Capital fundraising campaign for this project to raise £700,000 over 2 years in order to fund this build.

Helpline Plus telephone Casework team is a team of experienced specialist housing and debt advisers. We have four teams of advisers based in Shelter’s Sheffield office. We work with multiple external referral partner organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Helpline Plus provides legal advice and casework to enforce the rights of homeless people and assists those facing possession action or orders for sale to remain in their homes. We negotiate with councils, lenders and landlords to try to prevent court action.
