Application Process 1) Application - To apply for this role please complete the application form and send to [email protected]. The deadline for this is 9am on Monday 12th of January 2026. 2) We especially welcome applications from people with lived experience of the UK’s immigration system and/or lived experience of support from social workers. 3) Applicants shortlisted will be contacted on 26th January and asked to complete pre-interview tasks including: - review management accounts and provide oral feedback to interview panel - to write a blog post for our website about the recent changes to the family reunion route, in a manner that reflects SWWB’s values and social work perspective. Blog posts to be shared with interview panel via email by 6th February. - presentation for the staff team: Please prepare a presentation for the staff team about how you would show leadership in the migration and social work sectors, and how you would lead the organisation. Staff team to feedback to the board about their perspective based on the presentations. Presentations to the staff team will take place on 3rd February. 3) Interview - interviews will be on w/c 9th February. The interview will explore the qualities, experiences and commitment of the candidate as set out in the role description. There will be a mixture of questions and scenarios we ask candidates to respond to. 4) If we need to make any adjustments to enable your participation in the application and interview process, please let us know and we will be happy to oblige. 5) Pre-commencement checks – If you are successful at interview the following will be completed: • We will contact your references, with your consent. • Candidates will be asked to consider and declare any existing or potential conflicts of interest. • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. 6) In the light of the checks and declarations, the Managing director will be formally appointed and will commence induction and training. The role entails oversight of the operations and strategy of the organisation, responsibility for financial management and fundraising, maintaining the health of the organisation and embedding anti-racist and anti-opressive values into every aspect of the organisation.
