We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our team as a Power BI Developer. You will join us working 35 hours per week, on a permanent basis and will be based remotely. In return you will receive a salary of up to £43,003 per annum plus excellent benefits.

The small yet busy Solution Delivery Team is expanding from six to ten employees, sitting within the IT Department. The team work within Cats Protection to identify issues and provide technical solutions, utilizing both off the shelf products or in-house developed solutions as required. Internal solutions are built using a range of technologies focused around the Azure Stack, including low code/no code solutions, the Power platform, T-SQL and other technologies as required.

Responsibilities of our Power BI Developer:

As a Power BI Developer you will be working with a number of departments within Cats Protection to understand their data and reporting requirements. You will need to identify any quality issues with their data, as well as work with the departments on how best to resolve historic data issues and improve processes to ensure future data is captured to a high standard. The data will then need to be moved in to our Power BI platform where you will create user friendly and accurate reports to show this data.

Current projects include:

• Supporting existing reports and dashboards for Neutering Finance to track processing times and backlog
• Building a number of reports for our Volunteering teams to track foster home inspections, volunteer availability, and surveys of the volunteers
• Supporting a network of Power BI Champions within the organisation, providing them with data and supporting them in finetuning reports to better inform decision-making

What we’re looking for in our Power BI Developer:

- At least 3 years of experience using Power BI and extracting data from SQL, Excel and SharePoint.

- Experience presenting data in a format that users can understand

- Knowledge of the PowerApps platform

- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and ETL processes

- Someone with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving

- Knowledge of the appropriate professional and/or legal data standards

- A customer focussed individual

- A keen eye for detail, ensures all work is carried out to a high standard

As a Solution Developer you will be working on a number of exciting new projects as well as helping to support and upgrade existing applications. This role gives the post holder exposure to Cloud First development work and the opportunity to work with the latest technology.

• Updating our Neutering Finance system to move from a paperbased system towards an electronic version
• Replacing our CRM, a system at the heart of many of our processes and data flows, and integrating it with a number of new and existing systems
• The redevelopment/migration of existing systems into fully cloud based systems.

What we’re looking for in our Solution Developer:

• Significant experience in software development using C# and TSQL or another development skill involving systems implementation
• Experience in functional and automated testing, producing test driven development
• Demonstratable knowledge of Azure Stack development, specifically around pipelines, functions, logic apps and service buses
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• The ability to apply specific quality standards to all tasks undertaken to ensure that deliverables are accurate and complete
• To show understanding for the needs of the internal or external customer and keeping these in mind when taking actions or making decisions
• To identify gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation and able to devise a means of resolving them

Income Supervisor

Do you have accounting experience and the ability to support and supervise a small team? Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint an Income Supervisor to lead and coordinate the Income team within our Finance Department.

The main responsibilities are to:

• Supervise a small income team and volunteers.
• Manage, control, analyse and reconcile income onto the financial ledger and the donor database.
• Manage the entry of all direct bank receipts and income from online giving platforms, including set up and monitoring all standing orders and associated bank reconciliation.
• Oversee weekly cash counts for banking via G4S security.
• Act as the main point of contact with the finance department for all retail operations staff and ensure all retail shop income is recorded correctly and reconciles to the retail system.
• Be the main point of contact and information for all income issues, liaising with other departments as required.
• Manage the Gift Aid declaration process including the correct entry on donor database and the scanning process.

The successful candidate will have:

• AAT level 4 / MAAT or be qualified by experience to this level.
• A detailed knowledge of financial accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
• Experience of complex reconciliations of high-volume transactional data.
• Proven experience of implementing & managing strong financial controls.
• Familiarity with accounting in charity sector and gift aid welcomed.
• Experience of operating specialised accounting systems – PT uses Microsoft Business Central.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, basic pivot, SUMIFS, conditional formatting and similar)
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Strong planning, organisational and flexibility skills.
• Some experience of leading a team (staff & volunteers).

About the Role:

Victim Support (VS) is the leading independent charity in England and Wales for people who have been affected by crime and traumatic incidents. Understanding the experience and needs of victims and witnesses of crime is central to the charities' aims and vision.

As a Research & Lived Experience Officer you will have the opportunity to capture the voice of victims and promote evidence based recommendations to improve the experience of victims in the criminal justice system. You will be a part of a small but enthusiastic research team, while also having the opportunity to lead your own project.

You will have the opportunity to recruit participants and manage a Lived Experience Engagement Forum, and to regularly engage, build and maintain close relationships with the forum's participants. You will also need to conduct workshops/focus groups to collect feedback and insights from the participants on various products and procedures, and produce summaries of this feedback.

To be successful in the role you will need to have proven experience in recruiting vulnerable people to take part in research activities and conducting workshops or focus groups and interviews. Experience in writing and analysing surveys is an advantage. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently, as well as experience of working in partnership with various stakeholders. Having knowledge of victims of crime is desirable, but not essential.

Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

 The post holder will work with our local centres to develop fundraising opportunities and offerings that are appealing to the local community.

The Ian Karten Charitable Trust is looking for a home-based, self-employed administrator to cover the current incumbent who is going on maternity leave in July 2024.  The Trust is a grant making trust focused on disability and education.

The role is very flexible; hours required are generally between 8 and 16 per month. With the exception of two trustee meetings annually, which usually take place at mutually agreed times during office hours, most of the work can be carried out according to the postholder’s individual commitments and availability.

The administrator will report to the Chair of Trustees, and will be responsible for ensuring that the administrative processes necessary for the running of the Trust are smooth and efficient. This will include monitoring emails and communicating with grantees, processing payments, preparing and distributing papers for trustee meetings, taking minutes at trustee meetings and following up on agreed actions, and ensuring any necessary documentation is kept up to date. About the role:
As a Team Leader for the Homicide Team, you will:

• lead a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet service standards & contractual requirements
• enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams)
• support staff to keep them safe within their role, leading on the importance of personal and professional resilience and wellbeing for the team
• support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team
• travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online

You will need:

• excellent organisational skills & ability to manage a demanding workload
• experience of achieving key performance indicators
• an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals
• excellent communication skills
• experience in building constructive working relationships, focused on delivering the best service
• to be a confident presenter, and able to share the service and work we do to inform, educate and encourage notifications and referrals into the service
