Let’s Go Zero is a national campaign uniting teachers, pupils, parents and their schools as they all work together to be zero carbon by 2030. We’re also working with national government to ensure the right support is in place to help all schools reach this goal through seven policy actions. This initiative will link thousands of schools across the whole of England with advice and support from a network of 31 local climate experts.

We are looking for advisors based in Yorkshire and The Humber, North West and North East to support school leaders, local authorities and others to carry out projects that reduce emissions and inspire students and the wider community. We know schools are eager to take climate action, but often lack the information to do so.

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join their team in London, Delhi or Accra. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.   

As Finance Officer with Clean Air Fund you will support the finance team with a growing organisation and complexity, helping to ensure that the financial processes and procedures of the Clean Air Fund run smoothly, efficiently and effectively, enabling other team members to be effective. 

This role will be responsible for managing all expenses, payments and month end information and processes, such as accruals, bank reconciliations. In addition, they will manage a contracts database and reconciliations between the finance system and the grant management system.

The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

Working cross-functionally within a matrix-style organisation, the Lead will work collaboratively on the engagement pillar of WorldGBC's fundraising team alongside the Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Partnerships Lead. This team coordinates closely with all WorldGBC departments, in particular where sponsors are involved with initial focus on the programme/project partners.

Well-organised and a great communicator, this individual will ensure that key relationships are managed effectively across the organisation, and be detail oriented in their reporting and accounting of opportunities. The Lead should also be willing to represent the organisation in relevant external opportunities relating to the programmes as need arises - including fundraising meetings, external working groups, events or conferences.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Account Management: Be primary point of contact for new and existing programmatic sponsors and partners, overseeing engagement with the network and accounting with detailed reporting to ensure up-to-date partnership records. Work alongside the programmatic team leads to deliver all agreed benefits to partners, ensuring a uniform balance of benefits and opportunities across sponsors engaging in all areas of the organisation.

2. Fundraising and Budget Management: Work alongside the programme leads to secure funding and manage relevant programme/project budgets (with guidance from the Director of Programmes Strategy), including supporting grant application and reporting responsibilities where necessary.

3. Stakeholder Engagement (members and partners): Engage with stakeholders to ensure that our programmes/projects align with their goals and needs, working with the Director of Programmes Strategy and wider programme team to explore best practice engagement tactics throughout 2024.

4. Subject Matter Expertise: Stay current with the latest trends in sustainable buildings and WorldGBC programme outputs, ensuring the Lead can communicate knowledgeably about WorldGBC strategy and work areas as required.

5. Communications: Support communication for WorldGBC on topics related to sustainable buildings in relevant programmatic areas, representing the team at internal or external events or industry working groups and collaborating with Marketing & Communications on accurate messaging for publications and campaigns.

6. Supporting Programmes team: Be a committed member of the WorldGBC team and offer support, training and expertise to wider members of the team. Participate and engage in wider WorldGBC campaigns, events and deliverables, such as COP, World Green Building Week and Leadership Summit.

You will champion and train colleagues in how to get the most from data, creating a framework for data classification, discovery and the provision of self-service datasets and increasing data literacy across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with experience in developing and implementing data governance policies, standards and procedures, with an understanding of advocating for better use and management of data along with delivering better data literacy within an organisation. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to join our Environment and Climate action team within the S&I Directorate and is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum, improvement of our protected sites and achieving a net gain in biodiversity across our canal network.

The Ecologist will be responsible for providing professional technical input into the Trust’s strategic activities around nature recovery. This includes collecting and analysing information and data to support a long-term action plan to move more of our protected sites towards favourable condition and support projects that increase biodiversity and the abundance of protected species across the network.

The Canal & River Trust is in an ideal position, as a large landowner with blue and green corridors connecting habitats across the landscape, to carry out environmental enhancements using our local volunteer workforce to ensure that we improve habitats and support biodiversity. Planting the right trees in the right places, reconnecting old hedgerows and restoring or creating wildflower meadows and linear species-rich grasslands to provide a safe haven for wildlife and a destination for people to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Reconnecting people with the nature on their doorstep and offering them opportunities to get involved in looking after ‘their patch’ through guided walks and talks.

Our aim is to support the work of the Trust as a whole, while conserving and enhancing the environment of the inland waterway network. Finding simple and innovative solutions/methods of work to ensure that the modern-day use of the waterways, their historical importance, the Trust’s legal obligations and strategic priorities are met through sustainable development, conservation and enhancement of the natural environment.

Location

The role will be based working from home, with the expectation to attend main regional hubs either at Milton Keynes, Birmingham, or Little Venice (Paddington), for collaborative working. This is a national role, requiring collaboration with teams in all six of the Trust’s regions. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able travel to attend meetings or fieldwork throughout the regional waterway network.

Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

Key accountabilities:

• Provide ecological technical advice as requested. This includes input into Trust EMS standards and tools and nature recovery projects.
• Contribute to the Trust’s Nature Recovery Strategy and associated sustainability initiatives, with a view to increasing biodiversity across the Trust’s network
• Contribute to national programmes of engagement with customers, volunteers, stakeholders and the general public to promote the value of waterways and the work of the Trust to increase the Trust’s reputation and influence and secure additional resources for our work, focusing on our key sustainability priorities.
• Work with regional ecology teams to implement relevant inspection/monitoring and maintenance programmes for environmental/soft estate assets within their geographical remit, (re-)prioritising work to suit available resources and within delegated authority levels.
• Contribute to the implementation of an environmental management system (EMS; including associated processes & standards) especially with responsibility for monitoring national uptake
• Collaboration with regional teams to maintain ecology and nature recovery performance data (e.g. GIS layers, ecological baseline and species location data)
• Assist in the development of environmental training & competency
• Contribute to corporate targets on raising public awareness of and support for the Trust especially through interest in our environmental assets.
• Contribute to external engagement and fundraising nationally to secure additional resources for the Trust, especially through interest in our environmental assets

Corporate Partnership Senior Officer

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, using your skills and experience to grow the corporate partnerships programme and secure support from new corporate supporters.

As the Corporate Partnerships Senior Officer, you will lead on securing new six figure multi-year corporate partnerships. You will develop partnership proposals and deliver compelling pitches to secure the support of new corporate partners. You will manage aportfolio of corporate partnerships, providing excellent stewardship, identifying innovative ways to maintain and grow the support received annually. 

You will work closely with colleagues to maximise long-term income opportunities to support Sustrans strategic priorities. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub. 

About you 

You should have proven experience of securing six figure income from new corporate partners as well as delivering outstanding partnership stewardship to grow the portfolio of corporate partners. 

We also ask that you are experienced in working autonomously to achieve fundraising targets, managing a dynamic pipeline of new business opportunities and writing and pitching persuasive partnerships proposals   

You will be skilled in prospect researching, utilising your own networks to engage new corporate partners along with excellent written and communications skills, and IT skills including CRM systems 

We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of regulatory framework including CiOF Code of conduct and Fundraising Regulator

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustrans Behaviour Change and Engagement Team as it looks to encourage those in Harlow and the surrounding area to walk, wheel, and cycle. 

As an Active Travel Project Officer in Harlow and Gilston Town (HGGT), you will assist in the delivery of the behaviour change programme to schools, workplaces and community groups. The project will encourage and enable the community to travel sustainably and actively, through various initiatives, events and competitions. 

Your role will include duties such as the creation of materials and communications to increase the visibility of your work, delivering activities and events with a variety of people, reporting and presenting to stakeholders, and analysing surveys and other monitoring data. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as local community leaders, schools, businesses, local authority officers, along with all Sustrans colleagues within the region. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. 

About you 

You should have experience of planning and delivering projects, workshops or activities for a diverse audience. 

You will be experienced in developing relationships and working with a wide range of stakeholders, being able to build rapport and influence people.

We also ask that you have experience in planning effectively using multiple systems, including Microsoft packages, and processes to meet the deadlines of each project. 

You will be experienced in writing for different audiences and purposes such as reports, assemblies, promotional material, briefings etc. 

You will be skilled in being able to prioritise a complex workload.

Salary: £34,000 depending on skills and experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and engaging with new and existing funders through high-quality written proposals and reports.
