Background:
Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.

You will support the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk in maintaining effective governance processes, policy frameworks, and establishing high levels of corporate governance practices. You will also work under the direction of the Company Secretary on governance matters and administrative support.
Your responsibilities will include attending meetings, ensuring effective record-keeping, and taking accurate minutes when appropriate. This will also involve arranging meetings, collating papers, prioritising diaries, and managing associated tasks.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an administrative role, including the administration of formal meetings and minute-taking. You should have excellent written and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. We believe that communities are strengthened by voluntary action. We therefore want charities to thrive and be empowered to deliver for people and communities.

We advocate for and with our members, giving voice to those not often heard, and harnessing the collective power of partners to ensure the voluntary sector is valued. We bring charities together so they can learn, connect, and create greater impact.
As the voluntary sector and volunteering adapt to new challenges and a changing context, so must NCVO. We are therefore prioritising work to evolve as an organisation to ensure we live our values of ambition, inclusion, openness and collaboration in everything we do internally and externally.
