About the organisation
nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
The Play Therapy Service provides a free, confidential therapeutic service for children and young people who have experienced or witnessed domestic and/or sexual violence. It is designed to help them have the space to express themselves, think things through and work towards healing from trauma. Children/young people receive the service usually once a week, in one of nia’s satellite locations in East London.
About the post
In the role of Play Therapist, you will play a central role in running a play therapy service for children and young people affected by violence against women, including the children of mothers who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence and prostitution, as well as problematic substance use. The work focusses on working therapeutically with children and their parent/carers and networks to enable their healing process. You will work as part of a growing team of therapists and counsellors, all working to meet the needs of survivors.

We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending violence against women. You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to supporting women and girls.

As our Director of Service Transformation, you will lead the exciting next phase of transforming our charity’s services to reach more disabled children, young people and their families. What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:
- Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families.
- Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
- Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids.
- Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services.
- Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery. Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability.

Job Description Chief Executive Officer
This is a part time role with a fixed term contract of twelve months in the first instance. The intention is that funding will be sourced to extend the role.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Producer, with strong climate credentials, to lead our small, dedicated production team. About the Role
- We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic team member, who will work closely with the Partnerships Manager.
- You will help provide excellent account management to our valued partners, encouraging them to think of new and innovative ways to support us, also working to build our profile in the local area.
- You will lead on coordinating our corporate volunteers; working closely with the services teams to come up with engaging volunteering opportunities and ensuring our corporate volunteers have a great experience when they give their time to us.
- We are looking for a personable and professional self-starter who is comfortable communicating with people at all levels and sometimes representing the charity at fundraising events.
- This role would suit someone who currently works in a fundraising role and is looking to develop their career within corporate partnerships or, someone with a customer service/account management background who has excellent relationship building skills.

About the role
Medact’s Movement Organiser will work alongside our Campaign Leads and Head of Movement Building to grow our movement, developing groups of healthcare workers into confident campaigners who can make a visible difference in the struggle for health justice and peace. The successful candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time with one of our campaigners, and 20% participating in cross-organisational work. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, or experience of organising or campaigning around, issues related to economic justice or the climate crisis.
About you
This is a skilled role, but you don’t need to have worked for an NGO or be a professional organiser to be right for it. You might have organised in your workplace or local community to take action on issues that you care about. Or, you might be a health worker who has seen the impact of injustices such as a poor environment, immigration or counter-terror policies, low income or precarious housing on your patients, and wants to challenge decision-makers and hold them to account.
You’ll have a strong understanding of power and how to work with others to create pressure for change. You need to be a great communicator, able to build trusting relationships with Medact members, partner organisations and community groups. You’ll have an understanding of how digital communications compliment organising and campaigning. Upskilling and empowering our movement is a fundamental part of this role, so you’ll need the ability to deliver training and workshops through an anti-oppressive lens.

As a member of the Communications Team, you will help develop external and internal communications on our research portfolio, policy and campaigning work and fundraising initiatives. You will also proactively monitor and look for opportunities for timely responses to the news agenda on social media.
With a fantastic nose for a story, you will have outstanding writing skills and be able to turn complex issues into compelling stories to pitch to journalists and to share with staff. You will be aware of the UK’s charity, healthcare, and policy landscape and have a keen eye on the news agenda, keeping abreast of developing trends and spotting opportunities to pitch comment pieces and reactive statements.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Sittingbourne shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.
About you
You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.

Our shops are the face of our retail brand, run by a dedicated, creative and passionate bunch of superstars. We focus on sustainable fashion and engaging with local communities. It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

We are on the lookout for a fantastic Events Project Manager to help our healthcare client on an interim basis for a 6-month contract role.
The post holder will be responsible for planning, managing and delivering one their biggest annual events and ensuring the project is completed according to the allocated budget and timeline.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Assume the lead operational role on the project and develop, oversee and manage the end-to-end project plan for the award scheme and event.
- Launch and manage the nomination process internally and externally.
- Manage and lead the judging panel process.
- Plan and execute the award ceremony event including: administration of invitations and management of the attendee list; scope and book the venue and finalise the contract including audio visual arrangements; confirm catering requirements, logistics, entertainment and table decoration; agree the event programme and speakers.
- Work closely with the small project team to lead the project, problem solve and ensure that tasks are delivered on budget and to the desired timescale.
- Negotiate and effectively manage relationships with the venue and suppliers.
- Work closely with the communications team to promote the awards scheme, generate nominations and ensure that internal and external stakeholders are engaged
- Recruit, manage, coordinate and oversee event volunteers.
- Maintain the budget and ensure milestones are met according to the agreed timeline.
- Manage, negotiate and implement contracts with external providers and suppliers.
- Identify and agree measures of success to evaluate the award scheme and event and make recommendations for improvement.
Person Specification:
- Experience managing and implementing award and recognition schemes and large scale, high profile events
- Highly experienced with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Working with and coordinating people to deliver objectives and defined tasks
- Maintaining effective relationships with organisational leadership
- Venue booking and liaison and managing suppliers
- Budget management
- Research and evaluation methods and techniques
- Experience of working in an events management and/or communications environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Personable with excellent people skills
- Strong leadership skills to coordinate and facilitate activities with colleagues, senior leaders, patients and volunteers
What’s on offer:
This is a full-time six-month contract role with a fantastic health organisation. They offer flexible working going into their central London office 1-2 times a week. Salary will be between £45-50k pro rata dependant on experience.
