We are looking for a Research and Impact Officer to join the Assertive Contact and Engagement (ACE) Service working within a team supporting people with complex mental health needs to create positive change and enjoy improved wellbeing. This is a vital role supporting teams to effectively demonstrate their impact, with exciting opportunities to facilitate learning and development sessions.
In this role you will be:
- Supporting services to work safely, effectively and transparently to achieve their aims of supporting people to improve their mental health.
- Reporting around interventions and outcomes, and carrying out data analysis and research
- Assisting in information sharing and influencing by designing and delivering training packages on data and governance and mental health.
About you
You may have an interest in research and analysis or have the skills to deliver engaging presentations and learning interventions to internal and external teams.
You will have some familiarity in working with electronic recording systems, and GDPR guidance, as well as excellent communication skills. You will also have a solution focused, creative approach and excellent problem solving skills; thriving on the challenges and variety of working within this diverse role.
As this is a diverse role with a range of responsibilities, we are willing to be flexible for the most suitable candidate. Although ideally, we would like the post holder to work 3.5 days per week, we would accept anything from 2.5 to 3.5 days. In addition, we can be flexible around the days and times worked.

Who are we?
We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. What you will be doing:
- Tapping into your previous experience in help desk support, multitasking to troubleshoot and repair issues, you will be providing technical support via our helpdesk to colleagues, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
- Using your previous experience in IT, you will be managing and overseeing the day-to-day operation of our IT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure, using your problem-solving skills to ensure smooth running of the network and systems.
- With your solid knowledge of IT systems and applications and strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will collaborate with teams and colleagues to assess their IT needs, identify areas for improvement, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Assisting and contributing to IT policy, planning, development.
You will be in the FAST (Facilities and systems team) and your line manager will be our Central Services Manager.

Contract details
- Hours per week: 37.5 (this represents full time hours)
- Contract type: Permanent
- Pay: £28,282 - £29,777 per annum
- The location: You will be based in Kingsley Hall, close to Bristol’s main train and bus stations as well as the vibrant city centre. There is also flexibility to work from home to be agreed upon.

Role
Rowan Alba works to end homelessness in Edinburgh by providing permanent supported homes and building relationships with individuals in crisis. We also work in our communities with volunteers who provide vital support to the most vulnerable in an attempt to prevent homelessness. Our experience lends itself to exemplar training programmes aimed at helping employers understand conditions around addictions.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident communicator for the new role of Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager to increase awareness of our work and develop new funding streams from individual, community and corporate partnerships.
You will be a creative, organised and motivated individual with a positive track record in working independently to develop corporate and community funder relationships.
Working alongside our Communications Manager, Trusts and Grants Fundraising Manager and Leadership Team you will develop an engagement strategy to help increase awareness of our work and raise vital funds to support our organisational development including the creation of new permanent homes for individuals with long-term experience of homelessness.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing corporate partners
- Developing opportunities to deliver training to corporate staff and organising volunteering activities
- Working with staff and volunteers to develop and implement community fundraising opportunities including sponsorship activities and local events
- Organising events for key stakeholders to increase Rowan Alba profile
- Managing relevant KPIs and appropriate CRM system for all individual and corporate funder communication and outcomes
- Ensuring the organisation adheres to the codes of fundraising practice set by the Fundraising Regulator
Core competencies
- Experience in relationship building and delivering long term funding support from a variety of sources
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently, and with a small core team
- Experience of event organisation and management including working with volunteers
- Administrative skills and experience in use of appropriate CRM solutions, cloud-based platforms such as SharePoint, Zoom, Teams
- Demonstrate respect and compassion to the people we work with and represent Rowan Alba positively and professionally at all times
