The Ruskin Mill Trust Group operates five colleges and associated residential provisions, as well as independent specialist schools. Through our research led method of Practical Skills Therapeutic Education we provide innovative and experiential education for children and young people with special learning needs, developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. Access Social Care are an organisation of thirty-six people, and this is a new role in the People team coming at a period of growth to drive a thriving charity and help shape its future.

This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will work with people at all levels of the organisation supporting the People Director on strategy work streams as the organisation continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all day-to-day HR processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure staff are supported appropriately and legislative responsibilities are fulfilled
• Work alongside the People Director to map or review processes across the employee lifecycle, identify blockers and seek to implement solutions that create efficiency and clarity 
• Advise on employee relations and discuss complex or sensitive cases with the People Director to decide the best course of action, ensuring that cases are resolved in a timely manner or be a trusted advisor to our managers with their people challenges
• Coordinate the delivery of projects, process and policy improvements as defined and prioritised within the People Plan, leading on workstreams as outlined by the People Director
• Support the People Director in sourcing training and learning solutions, and evaluating training
• Provide practical upskilling and training to managers and employees in HR practices and policy
• Coordinate recruitment efforts at Access Social Care, ensuring compliance with employment laws and providing guidance to managers. Manage the recruitment cycle and administration process from job ads to onboarding
• Support staff engagement activities across Access Social Care in conjunction with the People Director. These may include but are not limited to the following initiatives: staff survey coordination, and wellbeing events
• To be a super user and actively promote the use of the HRIS system (Bright HR) and ensure that electronic staffing records are updated and maintained accurately in accordance with GDPR
• Dealing with cyclical and ad-hoc data reporting and requests for information including data analysis
• Contribute to effective payroll administration ensuing information is shared with the Finance Officer in a timely manner, and collaborating with the People Director to address and rectify any issues and process improvements
• Work within the parameters of GDPR, ensuring data and information is protected and handled correctly

• Job Title: Justice Programme Manager

Headway is seeking a new Justice Programme Manager who will expand the current services to have a greater impact on police and probation services, improving knowledge and understanding and the support offenders with brain injuries receive.
We want someone who can both oversee the existing projects, such as our brain injury ID cards, whilst expanding the services in line with our new strategy, due to launch in the summer of 2024.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. • Develop and nurture relationships with potential and existing donors, partner organisations and consultants as appropriate.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of project and health partnership quality programme approaches, including standards, processes, tools and guidance.
• Contribute to the delivery of capacity development interventions for grant holders and THET staff.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• With support from the Research, Evidence and Learning team, oversee Monitoring and Evaluation processes for the programmes you lead, e.g. logframe and reporting mechanisms
• Lead the quarterly and annual reporting and analysis review process with institutional donors.
• Write project reports and programme reviews, and coordination of donor reporting as appropriate.
• Ensure grant holders have effective M&E plans in place and coordinate the review of their reports.
• Coordinate visits to project implementation sites for monitoring and audit purposes.
• Facilitate learning and sharing of good practices across programmes and the wider organisation.

Team Support and Line Management

• Line manage members of the Programmes Team (1-2 Programmes Coordinators).
• Oversee the contracting, payments and deliverables of in-country consultants and other suppliers.
• Lead the induction process for new Programmes Team members and other THET staff when required.
• Work with colleagues from across the team to identify areas for improvement and strengthening.

Miscellaneous

• Attend and present THET’s work at UK and international events, including the THET annual conference.
• Join your choice of THET’s and external thematic working groups, such as on gender equality and social inclusion, on the climate crisis, etc.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of THET and play a leadership role in the Programmes Team

FearFree deliver services across the South West for victims of domestic abuse, those who harm and their families and victims of sexual violence and stalking. We provide responsive, victim focused and trauma informed support and this post is fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

This post will be based in our Devon domestic abuse service and is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our services which include IDVA Support for high risk service users, Education and Recovery support for medium and standard risk, Behaviour Change Support for those who harm and support for children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse and YPIDVA support for those in abusive intimate relationships.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Leading day to day operations within the Devon services.
• Line management of team managers
• Ensuring the services work to Accreditation best standards including Leading Lights and Respect.
• Monitoring the outcomes of the service, data and reporting to commissioning partners.
• Overall responsibility for safeguarding across the service.
• Building relationships with partner agencies across Devon.
• Promotion of our service across the local area.
• To provide leadership, direction and support to staff ensuring excellent management of the service, including direct line management of the team managers.
• To coordinate the development and maintenance of partnerships with other agencies, to ensure effective, allied approaches to client support.

• Ensure that the charity continually operates innovatively, flexibly and with service users’ needs at the heart of service design and delivery by horizon scanning, identifying emerging trends and new opportunities and lead through to successful implementation.

Leadership and management

• Provide inspirational leadership and effective management to the team ensuring that all staff and volunteers are actively working to achieve the charity’s vision, mission and strategic ambitions.
• Ensure all staff and volunteers are effectively performance managed and live the charity’s values and have all appropriate resources to achieve excellence in their field.
• Work alongside colleagues from across FearFree to provide support, assistance and management to over teams where required.

Budgets and Financial performance

• Contribute to the creation of annual and three year budgets and financial targets.
• Carefully monitor and evaluate both financial and non-financial performance and create contingency plans to predict and rectify any variables.
• Develop effective business cases to propose new developments within the annual budgeting process but also progress ad hoc opportunities as they arise.

Governance and regulation

• Provide regular performance and project reports to the Head of Services, Director of Services and Commissioning partners.
• Provide performance and project reports and attend regular meetings internally and externally as requested.
• Provide evidence based assurance that the service meets or exceeds the contract terms and report to commissioners against performance indicators

Relationships and partnerships

• Proactively build relationships with the wider statutory and voluntary partners across the charity’s areas of operation.
