Queer Minds Sessional Facilitator
The Queer Minds Programme is for LGBTQIA+ individuals (age 18 and above) who live, work, or play in Lambeth or Southwark and wish to connect with others and engage with mental health peer support. Run by us, for us, services include two peer support groups and a trans drop-in, for which we require cover as well as workshops, movement sessions, and community outings for which we may also request occasional cover.
We are looking for compassionate and reliable people with personal experience of mental health challenges and LGBTQIA+ group facilitation. Applicants should have experience in supporting or working with marginalised people and demonstrate effective communication skills and professional boundaries with empathy and non-judgment. They will also be able to work independently but collaboratively.
Queer Minds is a peer-led service. As such, the successful candidate should be a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, with their own experience of mental ill health.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Closing date: Monday 23 February
Likely interview date: Monday 2 March (in Brixton)
We work to be there when it matters for people living with mental health problems and dementia in Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark
