The Middle East Programme Officer will support the delivery and development of our Middle East Programme, which aims to facilitate inclusive dialogue and conflict resolution in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, working with political and religious leaders to build a sustainable peace.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills 

• Native English speaker. Bilingual Arabic speaker desirable but not essential. 

• Preferably London-based. Potential for hybrid working subject to circumstances. 

• Excellent written and spoken communication abilities with demonstrable experience of writing reports and professional correspondence.

• A strong commitment to, and respect for, facilitating inclusive dialogue with groups holding highly diverse political, religious and ideological views, with cultural sensitivity and professional discretion. 

• Willingness and ability to undertake international travel for meetings and conferences, at times with short notice.

• Undergraduate degree in a related field (politics, history, languages, political sciences etc.) or equivalent relevant experience.

St Christopher’s is the supported housing provider for the London Accommodation Pathfinder – an innovative London wide service to improve accommodation and outcomes for young people aged between 16 and 17 in contact with the youth justice system at risk of custody (remand or sentence).

About the Role

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and outgoing individual who can deal effectively with challenging situations and behaviour, motivate young people to manage risk and support a team of professional staff.

Key aspects of the job will be: 

· To safeguard young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.

· To work closely with the local authorities to reduce young people’s offending behaviour and support them to complete their court orders.

· To provide regular supervision for staff and assess training needs to required performance and development standards. To source and/or deliver training and coaching where appropriate.

· To ensure housing management policies and practices are effectively operated. This will include maximisation of income, licence management and implementation of fair and equitable referral procedures.

· To ensure appropriate staff cover is maintained in the home through production of rotas and, where necessary, recruitment of locum covers. To ensure that staffing needs are met within designated budgets.

Applicants should have

•Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth justice, Children’s Residential Care or

Youth Work.

• At least three years’ experience of providing leaving care, housing support or residential care to

Children and young people

• At least one year’s experience of effectively managing a supported accommodation or residential

service for children and young people.

· A good understanding of contextual safeguarding, The Children’s Act 1989 and the Supported Accommodation Standards and Regulations 2023.

· Thorough knowledge of the issues pertaining to young people’s offending, including those relating to alcohol/drug dependency and mental health and complex needs.

· An understanding of restorative justice.

· Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges that non-white young people face within the criminal justice system

· Familiarity with the welfare benefits system and with the range of resources, statutory and non-statutory agencies and services relevant to supporting young people, particularly Youth Offending Services.

· Awareness of  Health and Safety and GDPR Regulations.

· A strong commitment to person centred and inclusive practice.

Role Overview:

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

YMCA Hastings provides medium-low supported accommodation for a total of 47 young people at risk of homelessness, aged 16 to 25, and care experienced young people under the age of 18. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building. Situated just of the seafront, the project has strong links with and contributes to the local community.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Hastings Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living. 
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law.
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team.

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community. 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance). 

General 

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)

Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: £23,085.69 per annum, inclusive of London weighting allowance

Hours: 30 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday). Please note that the the operating hours of the service are 8AM- 6PM Monday- Friday with the expectation to work on some days 8- 4pm or 10- 6pm to cover. 

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to be the first point of contact for women who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support to survivors all risk levels and their children..

In this role you will be part of a busy team. You will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre. The duty IGVA will be responding to daily enquiries (specify from whom- public, agencies, individuals? over the phone and email as well as contacting survivors, assessing their risks and needs.

The duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the over to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support. The post holder will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

The Corporate Fundraiser will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects and partners, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. The role will be hands on, focused on operational fundraising that delivers crucial short- and medium-term funding impact, as well as longer-term and sustainable corporate income for Richard House.

• Proven ability to deliver income and activity targets in corporate fundraising, with a strong knowledge of corporate fundraising techniques.

About the role

The media manager is a linchpin role in the media team. You will have responsibility for planning and delivering major proactive media moments, including our Winter Appeal and our flagship corporate partnership activity, while contributing to the running, management and ongoing development of a busy press office and team. You will also be required to deputise for the Head of Media as necessary and support on reputational and crisis communications.

Crucially, you already have senior level experience of public relations/press management, ideally gained at a charity/think tank/political party/PR agency. As a result, you understand the inner workings of the media, what makes a story and how to influence the ever-changing news agenda.

You have extensive knowledge of different media channels and tactics, and your communication and relationship building skills are second to none. You’re confident influencing and negotiating at all levels – including with external partners, including handling crisis communications with diligence and sensitivity.

When it comes to empowering your line recruits and colleagues to deliver to the highest standard, your approachability and expertise all come to the fore. Finally, while prior knowledge of housing and homelessness isn’t a must have, you’ll need a passion for social justice. The Role

Working with the Director of Estates & Projects, as our Head of Projects, you will lead our Projects team in the delivery of a diverse range of capital projects across the Royal Parks estate.

From conserving historic sites to delivering innovative modern upgrades, you will oversee the successful planning and execution of projects that enhance and protect some of London’s most iconic green spaces.

In this strategic leadership role, you will lead, develop and motivate a high performing team of Project Managers, a Senior Architectural Designer, a Project Support Officer and two Assistant Project Managers.

You will operate as a member of the senior management team in the Estates & Projects directorate, and will shape and contribute to the development of the five-year capital plan, aligning projects with organisational goals, and managing the department’s risk and financial planning.
