DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Join our passionate and driven Fundraising Team at Challengers and play a key role in securing vital funding to support our impactful projects for disabled children and young people.
We are looking for a proactive and skilled fundraiser to research and identify new funding opportunities from Trusts, Foundations, and grant-making bodies. You’ll craft and submit compelling funding proposals, while building and nurturing strong relationships with new and existing funders to maximise support for our mission.
This role offers the chance to represent Challengers at meetings, tours, and events, showcasing the power of our work and the importance of our values. You’ll also maintain detailed and accurate records, manage reporting requirements, and actively champion the Challengers Approach, grounded in the Social Model of Disability.

Salford Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to local people who are referred to us in crisis. Food is donated, sorted and packed at our warehouse, then delivered to 7 centres across Salford, where teams of our volunteers greet people as they pick up their food parcels. In addition to food – visitors can access support and advice across our centres to help them maximise their income and ensure they are less likely to need to use the foodbank again.
You’ll be joining a friendly team of 6 part-time staff and approx. 80 volunteers, all dedicated to supporting people living in poverty. We are part of Trussell, a nationwide network of foodbanks.
Rate of pay: £13 per hour
Full-time / part-time: Part time – 27.5 hours per week (ideally 9am – 3pm Monday- Friday. Some flexibility available)
Temporary / permanent: 2-year fixed contract, with continuation of contract based on funding
Location: Salford Foodbank warehouse and office, 4 Kansas Avenue, Media City, Salford, M50 2GL
Overall responsibility of the job: Co-ordinate the pool of over 80 skilled volunteers in a variety of roles across the Foodbank operation. Welcome volunteers, arrange appropriate training and ensure volunteers feel valued and informed. General admin duties within the office setting will include welcoming visitors, accepting donations and answering phone enquiries.
Specific responsibilities around the volunteer coordinator role
· Manage all volunteers across the Foodbank operation – including warehouse volunteers, centre-based volunteers and drivers.
· Welcome teams of warehouse volunteers – teams of approx 6 regular volunteers each day for a 2 hour shift.
· Welcome teams of ad-hoc corporate volunteers.
· Motivate volunteers in their roles.
· Manage day-to-day rotas and volunteer availability and ensure volunteer records are kept up to date.
· Arrange volunteer training tailored to each role – to include eg health and safety, manual handling, safeguarding, conflict management, signposting.
· Ensure that all volunteer policies and procedures are followed as per Trussell guidance. Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
· Where necessary, recruit and induct new volunteers.
· Arrange seasonal volunteer celebration events.
· Support volunteers in developing their skills.
· Support volunteers to share their experiences to help promote the work of the foodbank.
· Work alongside the Foodbank manager to ensure volunteers are kept informed of foodbank news and developments.
Specific responsibilities around the admin assistant role;
Based in the foodbank warehouse and office this role will include a variety of admin duties, alongside other colleagues;
· Greet and thank members of the community (individuals, schools, church groups etc) as they drop off food donations.
· Answer phone and email queries – this could be from foodbank clients, referral partners, donors or corporate supporters.
· Welcome foodbank clients – be understanding and empathetic to their needs, direct them to our Foodbank centres across Salford and explain how to access our services.
· Be familiar with other local food providers and charitable organisations across Salford to signpost foodbank clients appropriately.
· Attend team meetings and training sessions.
· The staff team is a small team so you may be asked to get involved in other tasks to assist your colleagues and provide cover when others are away.

Kentish Town Community Centre (KTCC) is looking for a Projects and Admin Coordinator for exciting new community projects here at KTCC. This is a very rewarding position working a wide variety of members of the community centre. This role will enable the We are looking for someone who is committed to providing an amazing standard of service for our the community. This includes spending time getting to know our members, committing to outreach and community engagement, recording feedback, facilitating sessions and importantly including that all sessions are engaging, interesting and meet the needs of local people. Horsham Y Centre provides 24-hour supported housing services offering medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with 50 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs, relationship building and wellbeing. Situated in the middle of Horsham, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community.
We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our Horsham Y team. Main areas of responsibilities are:
Safety and security
- Provide a friendly and professional front-of-house welcome to residents, visitors and staff, and ensure the building is safe, secure quiet and welcoming
- Maximise the wellbeing of residents and visitors by ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and house rules, all within the terms of tenancy agreements
- Assess and monitor the risks presented by residents to ensure they can keep themselves safe and, where possible, continue their development
- Record all incidents and accidents and share appropriately with the wider team, your manager and, if necessary, the central safeguarding team
Engagement with residents
- Welcome residents home and provide informal and responsive support so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
- Ensure resident’s views, aspirations, concerns, and ideas are sought so they can play an active role in influencing the services they receive
- Proactively promote the services on offer and ensure residents are encouraged to engage with those services
- Contribute to, or support, evening groupwork activities so that residents can access tailored solutions that meet their needs, wishes and aspirations
Administration and housekeeping
- Undertake tasks as directed, including but not limited to: inputting data, assessments, reviews, case notes onto our client database and entering new residents details/closing ex-resident records
- Completing health and safety/compliance checks, and recording estate inspectors and room checks
- Adding maintenance requests to our property services system
General
- Work as part of a team, on a rota four on four off shift pattern, alongside another Housing Night Worker, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective at night, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
- Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
- Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

The Role
The Clubhouse Social Café Manager will lead on the implementation of the of café (Due to open in October 2024) and will manage the Food and Beverage Operations in line with food, and health and safety regulations. You will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility.
You will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the café, providing a diverse of community and health wellbeing projects in collaboration with Trust Senior Manager - Health and Wellbeing. They will also manage and mentor staff and trainees to deliver an effective and inclusive service to customers.
About You
We are looking for a passionate, inspiring catering/hospitality specialist to lead on training, mentoring and the hospitality operation of our new Clubhouse Café at Gunnersbury Park. The café is part of the new Community Sports hub at the site and will also double as a social and community space linking into community projects for all ages. Projects will include mental and physical health with the space acting as a central meeting/training hub. In this capacity you will work closely with the Trust's Health and Wellbeing Senior Manager.
We are partnering with the homeless charity Change Please to create a West London training hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and training the café team. Our founder partners in the project are The University of West London (UWL) and the Premier League and Professional Footballers Association Fund. We are linking with the University to offer a range of immersive opportunities for their catering and business students and our Café Manager will link with them on a number of working projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the implementation of the café, including the setup, adherence to food and health safety and regulations, and staffing.

Job purpose
This role sits in our Direct fundraising Team within the Individual Giving department. The key purpose of the job is to:
- Support the Associate Head and Senior Fundraisers to continue to grow and develop face-to-face direct recruitment and telephone fundraising activity at the NSPCC.
- To work with Senior Fundraisers and Associate Head within the Direct fundraising team to deliver agreed campaigns in line with business requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

- To carry out research through a range of sources, including the Internet, Intranet, publications and other external contacts, including other charities, in order to obtain relevant information that can contribute to the fundraising activities of the Direct fundraising team.
