Job description

Are you passionate about supporting women to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes? Do you have experience delivering person-centred support, mentoring, advocacy, or casework? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a dedicated Women's Alliance Caseworker to join the newly established York and North Yorkshire Women's Alliance Service, a partnership between St Giles Trust, Waythrough, and Changing Lives. Together, we're providing holistic, trauma-informed support to women across North Yorkshire, helping them build safer, healthier, and more fulfilling futures.

About the Role

As a Women's Alliance Caseworker, you'll provide tailored support to women facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, exploitation, substance misuse, domestic abuse, involvement with the criminal justice system, and social isolation.

You'll:

  • Deliver trauma-informed assessments and individual support plans.

  • Provide one-to-one and group-based interventions.

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including police, probation, health services, and specialist support organisations.

  • Support women through community drop-ins and outreach services.

  • Travel across rural communities using the Liberty Links outreach vehicle to engage women who face barriers to accessing support.

  • Maintain accurate case records and work towards key service outcomes and targets.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced in casework, support work, mentoring, advocacy, or a related role.

  • Skilled in building trusting relationships with women who may have experienced trauma or disadvantage.

  • Compassionate, resilient, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Comfortable working in partnership with a range of agencies and stakeholders.

  • Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and online communication platforms.

  • Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Relevant qualifications in social care, youth work, advice work, or equivalent experience are welcomed.

Lived Experience Welcome

We particularly encourage applications from individuals with lived experience of challenges such as homelessness, substance misuse, debt, criminal justice involvement, or gang affiliation, where this experience can positively inform support for women accessing our services.

  • Essential Requirements
  • Female applicants only (occupational requirement).
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Confidence driving a transit-sized vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance and relevant vetting checks.
