Whilst being homebased, the Assessing Social Worker will be required to travel for visits, across the East and West Midlands areas. There is also a requirement to be able to travel to Team meetings, wellbeing days, TACT away days and other in person events across the UK as and when required.
Core Assessing Social Worker Tasks include:
- Preparing applicants for the fostering role
- Promoting and supporting the development of trauma informed foster care / therapeutic parenting
- Assessment of prospective foster families
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of fostering assessments and applicant preparation
The main role requirements for this role include:
- BA or Master’s in Social Work or Dip SW, CSS or CQSW qualification
- Social Work England Registration
- Post qualifying experience including relevant family placement work or post qualifying experience in other child-care settings which must include statutory childcare work
- Experience of assessing foster families and preparing them for the fostering tasks
- A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children and foster families, using a trauma-informed therapeutic approach
- A passion for ensuring children receive the highest quality care from their foster family
- Knowledge of relevant child-care and fostering regulations, legislation, and best practice
- Good IT skills including Office 365

Whilst being homebased, the Senior Supervising Social Worker will visit and support foster families across the TACT South West area including Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire areas but will also travel within the wider region for team meetings, training and other in person events.
Overall Duties of the Senior Supervising Social Worker will include:
- An appropriate social work qualification
- Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
- Experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
- Experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.

- Take a lead role within the team, working closely with support workers and assistant support workers to identify the quickest and most appropriate route off the street for people found rough sleeping, and devise plans to achieve this
- Provide direct support to people who are found rough sleeping to enable them to move away from the streets and into accommodation
- Work alongside partner agencies to ensure that clients are accessing appropriate support to access and sustain accommodation.
- Represent the team at multi-agency meetings
- Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes
To succeed as the Lead Worker, you will have:
- A strong commitment to providing a high standard of service
- Experience working with people who have rough slept or vulnerable adults and supporting them to access services
- Excellent organisation and time management skills in order to remain strongly outcome focused, with the ability to coordinate a high number of cases and complete tasks promptly and efficiently.
- Good communication skills and confidence in public speaking when representing Thames Reach externally
- Experience in forming strong working relationships with partner agencies, being able to challenge them when required
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use Outlook, online recording systems, Excel, and Word, using a tablet and a smart phone
- A clean driving license (desirable)

About the role:
The post holder will work within The Passage’s Community Services as a Complex Case Outreach Worker and will lead on case management for people experiencing homelessness who are presenting in the footprints in which the team operate and/or who are accessing the Resource Centre. The post-holder will support individuals with substance use support needs and/or mental health issues and will lead on work with clients who are experiencing alcohol and/or drug dependencies and who may also be experiencing mental health problems or other health or social care needs.
Main duties:
- To manage a caseload of clients presenting within the footprints in which the Engagement & Outreach service operate and individuals who are accessing The Passage Resource Centre. To support clients with complex needs, supporting them to identify and work towards recovery and away from homelessness.
- Carry out assessments, case management, support planning and the delivery of interventions for clients including those experiencing mental health and/or substance misuse issues who are multiply-disadvantaged in their homelessness.
- Provide assertive outreach and engagement with street-based service users presenting with complex needs and barriers to engagement. Carry out monthly street-based audits to inform reporting and analysis of service outcomes.
- Support clients who are rough sleeping or involved in day time activity in the footprints in which the team operate to end their homelessness by linking them in with appropriate internal and external support services relevant to their needs. To provide support to clients who are accommodated, but may require ongoing support in order to maintain this accommodation, linking them in to appropriate local services.
General responsibilities:
- In conjunction with your line manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
- To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
- To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.
- To ensure that all The Passage policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Code of Practice and Confidentiality.
- To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Diversity and Equality Policy as it affects both The Passage and its work with vulnerable adults.
- To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work, and to always work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of The Passage.
Desired experience:
- Significant experience of delivering support services to socially excluded clients in a street based/day centre or similar setting.
- Significant experience of working in a mental health and/or substance misuse setting, working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
- Experience of providing a fully sensitive and responsive service to clients in a psychologically informed manner.
- Experience of working cooperatively with external partner agencies, e.g. Police, Social Services, NHS, as well as housing providers and voluntary agencies.
- Experience of assessing client needs and supporting clients to address their needs through assertive outreach and case management.
- Experience of working in a client-centered recovery focused approach and the necessary professional social skills to initiate and maintain constructive and appropriate relations with clients and agencies.
Desired knowledge:
- Understanding the support needs of the street populations with complex health, and housing needs.
- Knowledge of services and legislative environment regarding housing, health, work and immigration as it relates to people experiencing homelessness.
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing and collate and evidence work and outcomes using case management databases.
- Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Frameworks.
- An understanding of the causes of homelessness and, in particular, the needs of people who are multiply-disadvantaged in their homelessness.
- Knowledge of housing pathways available to dual diagnosis clients and how to access them.
- A working knowledge of how to support people with either substance or mental health needs.

About the role:
As a Resettlement Worker and Domestic Abuse Specialist, you will work in person and remotely with clients who have support needs, in particular, those who are survivors of domestic abuse. In conjunction with other members of the Partnership, you will support our clients to engage with services and find accommodation solutions. - Undertaking specific short term interventions to progress a client’s prevention or relief goals, including providing advice and support to enable individuals to improve their health and wellbeing.
- Providing advice and signposting to support clients to access relevant housing and wider support services.
- Working in partnership with RMG Caseworkers to deliver holistic housing and support service.
- Providing support to clients to access private rented and supported accommodation options.
- Referring to specialist internal and external support services as appropriate, including health, addiction and employment services.

Position in the Organisation

· Working With: Other members of the wider A4Y team, schools, key partners including the management partner, young people and parent/guardians.
Main Purpose and Scope of the Role
This programme is part of a consortium bid via the NCS Community Grant scheme and will run from September 2023 until the end of March 2025. NCS is a government-funded initiative that brings together schools, community organisations, businesses and individuals to build a stronger and more cohesive society.
This role will work independently to deliver the Grow Your Ambition programme for young people aged 16/17 years across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. The programme will be delivered in partnership with local schools, during term time, and includes three experiences; Grow Your Life Skills, Grow Your Employability and Grow Your Community. This role is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2025.
Each young person engaged in the programme must participate in all three experiences, totalling 48 hours. Key phases of each experience include preparation, session and curriculum planning, liaising with schools and external partners and actual programme delivery.
Each programme consists of:
Grow your Life Skills
· A two day, one night, residential experience at our outdoor education centre, Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes.
· Two outdoor adventurous activities on site that focus on teambuilding, communication and problem solving.
· Delivery of Life Skills sessions such as a cooking challenge, money skills, First Aid, mental resilience and more
· Total 24 hours
Grow Your Employability
· Two days based in school, delivered in line with the school day
· Delivery of a variety of Employability sessions such as personal presentation, confident speaking, CV writing and interview skills
· Total 12 hours
Grow Your Community
· Two days based in school, delivered in line with the school day
· One day delivery of a variety of sessions based on social action and community engagement
· One day volunteering with a local charity
· Total 12 hours
Duties and Key Responsibilities
· Contact and recruit schools from across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes to sign up to the programme
· Organise delivery dates and programme timetables for their students within the contractual requirements of the programme
· Plan each programme and create a timetable of activities for students to follow
· Deliver sessions to groups of students as per each experience
· Stay overnight for the Grow Your Life Skills residential
- Work with local community organisations to host volunteering days
· Work within a set budget to deliver the programme, ensuring each experience is delivered to a high standard
· Enter data onto the NCS/ Action4Youth CRM system
· Deliver a high quality programme to young people across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes as per contractual requirements
· Report to the programme management partner and collect personal details of young people for reporting purposes
· Attend meetings with management partner and other organisations within the consortium
· Prepare and deliver reports for funders and the Action4Youth Senior Management Team (SMT)
· Develop positive relationships with schools across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes to ensure commitment to the programme
- Act as an Ambassador for Action4Youth at all times
General Responsibilities
· Support events and meetings when required.
- Support the continued development of quality standards as specified by Action4Youth.
- Support in other areas of the organisation as required by the CEO

About the role:
You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users. You will have resilience and adaptability; understand the importance of professional boundaries; have excellent listening skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy. You will enjoy the challenge of a busy caseload and will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisation skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload.
Once in post you will benefit from the mandatory comprehensive training programme which will build on your existing skills and experience to prepare you for the role. Homicide Service training includes, criminal justice process; trauma informed approach to support; supporting traumatically bereaved families; personal and professional resilience.
As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards.
You will need to be able to travel to home visits within, and occasionally outside of area, and therefore a driving license and use of a car are essential. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.
We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with services users to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.
You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance misuse work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed supporting clients to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider drug strategy.
Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance misuse, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of our service users to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol misuse and individuals is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with clients on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

Role Title: OISC Level 2 Immigration Advisor

Main Responsibilities:

Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their immigration needs and eligibility

Provide comprehensive advice on various immigration matters, including visa applications, settlement, asylum claims, and appeals within OISC level 2 guidelines

Swindon’s welcome, accessible space in the heart of the town is looking for two Hub Coordinators - to help us grow, build and do more: by and with the community. It's a great chance to get active and make a real difference in this diverse town.
You’ll be working with a dynamic group of volunteers and visitors, helping to keep the Hub running day-to-day, as well as taking on a special focus of your own.
One special focus will be reaching out and drawing in: connecting with communities, groups and people around Swindon who are not using the Hub; building relationships, working in partnership and organising events and activities to see that the Hub is as inclusive and diverse as it can be.
The other special focus will be learning, skills & growing: supporting volunteers and visitors to the Hub, developing programmes of activities and opportunities - both internal and working with external partners - to help people learn, develop and grow.
Salary is £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience. Hours are 37 hours/week full time - applications for job-share / part-time considered. It's a fixed term contract: 3 years, with possibility of extension
