Job Title: Domestic Abuse Support Worker
Location:Based at Bede House, 351 Southwark Park Road SE16 2JW, with work at various sites in Southwark. Due to the nature of the work, this is not a remote/working from home role.
Hours: Up to 35 hours/week (excluding lunch break). Schedule may vary according to the organisation’s needs. The role covers the normal core office hours of 9:00 am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. TOIL may be granted for extra hours worked, in advance and by agreement with the service manager.
Pay grade: Starting point 7, rising to point 11 (£15.85/hr - £16.78/hr at April 2024) with experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the children and young people’s team for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to be part of shaping and delivering a new early support youth hub pilot within Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Dudley. The hub will support people aged 13+ and those who feel they still require a young people’s approach up to 25. It brings together the specialisms of Cranstoun, complimented by wider partnership delivery and lead areas of responsibility.
We have three positions, each to have a lead theme area, including relationships, youth engagement and emotional health and wellbeing. As this is a pilot, these lead themes may change and develop depending upon the needs of young people and the service. (Please state your preference during your application).
You will be the first point of contact within the youth hub, providing initial information, advice and guidance and facilitating connections to other support or specialist services. You will be expected to provide a range of planned engagement activities/clubs and undertake wellbeing coaching for those who need help. There will be an element of promotion and outreach within local schools and colleges to encourage young people to attend.
This early support youth hub will play a crucial role in providing: -
· Accessible open access information, advice and guidance.
· Tailored emotional and practical support that is trauma informed.
· Timetable of access for partner agencies including sexual health, substance use, mental health.
· Promoting positive well-being through themed events and clubs.
· Preventing escalation including wellbeing coaching to those who access the hub that may need short term goals focused support.
It will serve as an easy to access, youth friendly space, which will allow young people to get help at the earliest opportunity.

Within the role of a Service Manager, you will shape, develop and lead the team to provide an early support youth hub, supporting young people aged 13 – 25yrs. It will serve as an easy to access, youth friendly space which will allow young people to get help at the earliest opportunity.
The hub will provide: -

You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the hub, including staff supervision/performance, safeguarding, day to day delivery and implementing a wellbeing coaching model. You will need to have a strong understanding of how to maintain close working relationships with stakeholder and partnership organisations. Your role will include working with your team to achieve performance related targets across the outcome’s framework, achieving standards/kitemarks, managing the partnerships, especially with regards to data and information sharing for those using the hub, audits, HR related matters, H&S, budgets, and supporting ongoing funding applications.

Focussing on harm reduction, the service supports residents to stabilise their substance use and achieve their individual goals. The service has 30 units of accommodation across 5 sites. The service has recently adopted a high tolerance to drug use approach in one of the houses.
You will have experience of leading and managing teams within housing/supported housing and managing the support provided to people with multiple disadvantages. Embedding recent service changes and leading new developments within the service, you will instil a positive team culture with a focus on risk management.

As Young Adults Caseworker, you will focus on promoting the project and engaging with your clients in line with the project’s targets and providing a client-led support service and advocacy that responds to each individual’s needs and achieves project outcomes. We will also count on you to develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, including community-based services such as Police, YOT, Probation, children’s services and local authorities, as well as ensuring you close cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for young people that can be used for ongoing support.
What we are looking for
- Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young adults and establishing links to further the aims of a project.
- Experience of using support plans to enable people to successfully access support services.
- Proven record of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young adults.
- Experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures when thinking about young adults involved in or at risk of violence or exploitation.
- A working knowledge of relevant services for young adults in and around Swansea.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.
- A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

About this key role
Working as part of a larger Trainer and Assessor team, our successful candidate will work with allocated learners to produce realistic assessment plans, assessing learners using a range of assessment methods appropriate for the vocational qualification assessment criteria, and provide vital one-to-one support to learners as appropriate, ensuring you monitor their progress towards timely completion and certification.
We will also rely on you to liaise and work in co-operation with the Trust’s internal quality assurers to ensure compliance with standards, to attend and participate in internal and external meetings, best practice seminars and continuous professional development opportunities, plus undertake the administration necessary for tracking learner progress. As our Accommodation Adviser, you will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each service user using a strength-based approached within agreed contractual timeframes, before assessing need and risk, alert to changes that could indicate change in risk or serious harm, including personal safety and safeguarding.

Key Purpose:
Engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level across RABI as well as with key external stakeholders and partners to influence compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
