We are supporting a well-established, values-led homelessness charity at an important stage in its development. Following a sustained period of growth and impact, the organisation is entering a period of evolution and is seeking an experienced Interim Director of People to provide steady, strategic leadership.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and working as part of the Senior Management Team, you will provide oversight and guidance across the People function. You will act as a trusted adviser, supporting senior leaders and teams with a calm, measured approach while helping the organisation navigate change and maintain momentum. You will also provide operational leadership where required, supporting the Head of People with complex matters, reporting, and day-to-day HR activity, while maintaining a clear strategic focus.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Substantial experience operating at Director of People / HR Director level, with both strategic and operational HR expertise
• Proven experience supporting organisations and senior teams through periods of change, providing guidance, reassurance, and leadership
• Credibility and judgement to advise CEO, Board and senior colleagues on complex and sensitive people matters
• A calm, measured and enabling leadership style, maintaining confidence and stability across teams
• Experience in sizeable, multi-site organisations with diverse teams, with CIPD qualification or equivalent senior-level experience

- gathering the voices of young adults (18-30) to enable them to influence the direction of the programme and the Church's wider Environment Programme, ensuring their voice is heard at all levels of the Programme, and informs decision-making.
- communicating what the NZC programme is doing, to raise awareness amongst young people of the CofE's commitment to being a NZC church with these audiences, and to enable pathways for them to become involved in decarbonisation and other environmental projects at the local level.
- work with diocesan colleagues to enable the voices of young people to exercise leadership influence on NZC at a Diocesan level, as appropriate.

Important to the success of this role will be engaging with departments and stakeholders across the Church of England, to ensure this work sits within the broader context of the priority to be a church which is younger and more diverse.
As this is a new project and a new role, the postholder will help to shape the role. The initial focus will be to develop a NZC Young Adult Voices Strategy and Plan for sign-off by the NZC Programme Board, and then to work through delivery of this. This will need to consider the theology, mission and action that will engage and connect with young people - particularly exploring how we root this work in the spirituality and theology that is relevant for a younger audience.

The General Synod Young Voices project follows two motions passed at General Synod (in July 2024 and February 2025) committing General Synod to listening and responding to the voices of children, young people and young adults in every subsequent session. This project involves gathering the voices through schools, churches and Dioceses and enabling children and young people to speak and present each session at General Synod. In addition, it involves working with a group of young adults drawn from every diocese to run a programme of faith and leadership development that enables them to speak into General Synod at a national level, and exercise leadership influence at a Diocesan level as appropriate.

School Governance and Admissions Officer

We are looking for a School Governance and Admissions Officer to lead school governance and admissions in Church of England schools across the Diocese.

This is a part-time, hybrid working role that also offers flexi time.

Position: School Governance and Admissions Officer

Location: East Sussex/Hybrid

Salary: £30,970 per annum (FTE £44,242)

Hours: Part-time 26.25 hours per week (flexibility to work over 3.5 or 4 days per week)

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

The Diocese has 154 schools across Sussex working in partnership with 360 parishes.  Based at Church House in Hove, the vision for Education is to be “Deeply Christian, serving the common good.”

The School Governance and Admissions Officer will work closely with the Director of Education and Deputy Director of Education to act as the lead officer for school governance and admissions for all Church of England schools across the Diocese of Chichester. You will provide advice and support to headteachers, staff, governors and clergy of Church of England schools and academies specifically related to the Admissions code of practise and issues relating to compliance and governance.

Main duties include:

• Provide expert advice and support on school admissions to headteachers and school governors.
• Advise on compliance and governance matters, including complaints and disciplinary issues.
• Develop and deliver training to governors and headteachers on admissions and governance.
• Manage the recruitment and appointment process of foundation governors.
• Work with the Deputy Director and School Effectiveness Team to address leadership and management issues in schools to help raise standards and improve outcomes for children.

About You

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and with experience of being a school governor, clerk to governors or other relevant governance experience.
• Demonstrate up to date knowledge and understanding of education legislation and regulation related to admissions and governance for Church Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts.
• Be confident in planning and delivering high quality training to governors and headteachers.
• Build strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including governors, headteachers, academy partners and Local Authority officers.
• Demonstrate commitment to the aims and ethos of the Diocese of Chichester and represent the diocesan Education team professionally and positively.

Prospectus is pleased to be working with a world-leading London-based conservatoire and drama school to recruit for an exciting, newly created role – Head of Learning (music). This is an 18 month contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. The role will be based in London (Waterloo) and remotely.

Our client runs a specialist Saturday school offering advanced musical training to young people aged 5–18. Students combine their studies with general education in schools, coming together each week to learn under the guidance of leading professional performers and educators. The school offers a broad and ambitious programme of individual lessons, ensembles, choirs, chamber groups, and supporting studies classes. Many students progress to conservatoires and universities, while others pursue diverse careers enriched by their musical experiences at the school.

The Head of Learning will provide strategic and educational leadership across the school ensuring that all programmes are inspiring, inclusive, and of the highest quality. The Head of Learning will lead the design and delivery of their curriculum and programmes — working collaboratively with Heads of Department and colleagues across the Centre to shape provision, promote excellence in teaching, and ensure strong progression for every student, regardless of background. The post-holder will play a key role in defining their educational vision and strategy, as well as contributing to the wider learning and programme strategy. They will also act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and lead on quality assurance, data evaluation and impact, and continuous improvement across the Centre.

The successful candidate will bring significant leadership experience in a music education setting, including responsibility for curriculum/programme design, delivery and evaluation. You will have experience of managing, motivating and leading an educational team, including recruitment, induction, appraisal, and supporting performance and development. You will also bring evidence of promoting inclusive practice and supporting progression for students from underrepresented groups.

Job Title: Finance Officer

Reports to: Financial Controller

 The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,500 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.  

 Job Purpose

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the charity’s finance function—ensuring income and expenditure are processed accurately, reconciliations are completed on time, strong controls are maintained, and colleagues receive responsive support. You’ll also act as the key finance contact for payroll administration delivered via an external provider (providing inputs, checking outputs, and ensuring accurate postings into Xero).

Key responsibilities

1) Accounts payable (supplier invoices & payments)

• Process supplier invoices end-to-end: query resolution, correct coding (including VAT), approvals, posting to Xero, and maintaining an audit trail.
• Prepare and run supplier payment batches in line with controls and delegated authorities.
• Maintain supplier records and support efficient, professional supplier query handling.

2) Expenses & corporate cards (Payhawk) and posting to Xero

• Administer Payhawk expenses and card transactions: ensure receipts are submitted, policy rules are followed, and transactions are coded accurately.
• Configure and maintain Payhawk mappings (chart of accounts, VAT rates, tracking categories) to support clean exports into Xero.
• Export approved expenses/payments to Xero and support reconciliation between Payhawk activity, Xero postings, and bank/feeds.

3) Income processing and reconciliations (including donations)

• Raise sales invoices (where required), allocate receipts, and support routine credit control as appropriate.
• Reconcile income from bank, donation platforms, and other sources; ensure accurate allocation to the correct funds/projects (including restricted funding where relevant).
• Support Gift Aid record-keeping and processes (where applicable).

4) Payroll support (external payroll provider)

• Act as the key liaison with the external payroll provider to deliver monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Collate and submit monthly inputs by agreed cut-offs (e.g., starters/leavers, salary changes, contractual changes, statutory leave, pension changes and other agreed adjustments).
• Review payroll reports for accuracy and reasonableness (e.g., gross-to-net checks, variance checks vs prior month, starters/leavers reflected correctly).
• Coordinate payroll approvals internally and confirm release of payroll payments in line with controls.
• Ensure payroll-related payments (e.g., pensions and statutory deductions as applicable) are scheduled/processed accurately and on time.
• Post payroll journals into Xero, maintain supporting documentation, and reconcile payroll control accounts.
• Respond to staff payroll queries sensitively and confidentially, escalating complex items to the provider or Financial Controller as appropriate.

5) Month-end support & reporting

• Support month-end processes (journals, accruals/prepayments, reconciliations) and help produce routine finance reports (e.g., budget monitoring, cash, aged creditors/debtors).
• Assist with audit preparation and information requests; maintain clear documentation and controls.

6) Continuous improvement, controls and compliance

• Help improve finance processes (especially around expenses, coding consistency, and reconciliation routines).
• Contribute to maintaining robust financial controls and good practice across the organisation.

Person Specification

• Experience in a finance operations role covering transactional processing and reconciliations.
• Practical knowledge of Xero and confidence completing bank reconciliations and day-to-day postings.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel (comfortable with data checks and reconciliations).
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and sound judgement with confidential information.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with non-finance colleagues.
• Experience supporting payroll delivered by an external provider (inputs, checks, journals, reconciliations) and/or acting as a payroll liaison.
• Experience with Payhawk (or similar spend/expense platform) and exporting/syncing to Xero.
• Charity finance experience (e.g., restricted funds, Gift Aid awareness, donor/grant reporting).
• Familiarity with consolidations (Trading Subsidiary)
• AAT qualified (Level 3/4) or qualified by experience.
