Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time.
Contractually this role is London-based.
Contract: Fixed term contract to cover up to a years maternity leave, with a potential start date of early April 2026.

As our Individual Giving and Legacies Manager (Maternity Cover), you will play a central role in shaping Hospice UK’s supporter engagement and income generation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow legacy giving, payroll giving, and in-memory giving, ensuring every supporter’s journey is meaningful, engaging, and impactful.
You will be at the heart of some of Hospice UK’s most important fundraising activity, supporting the National Legacy Campaign and working closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to deliver high-impact campaigns for local hospices. Through thoughtful leadership, engaging communications, and effective appeals, you will help maximise income generation while directly supporting our mission to ensure everyone can access compassionate end-of-life care.
You will join a friendly, collaborative team of six within the wider Income Generation and Grants Directorate of 23. The Events and Supporter Engagement Team includes the Head of Events and Supporter Engagement, Events Fundraising Manager, Digital Fundraising and Engagement Executive, another Individual Giving and Legacies Manager, and two Supporter Engagement Officers. Together, we raise funds from individuals through events, digital campaigns, memorial and legacy giving, regular and payroll giving, and one-off donations. We also deliver a wide range of supporter engagement activities and oversee supporter communications and journeys.
To succeed as our Individual Giving and Legacies Manager, you will bring:
- Proven experience in legacy giving and individual giving environments
- Experience managing budgets and financial performance for fundraising activities
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent IT skills, including CRM database use for segmentation and reporting
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to write engaging, compelling copy for a range of audiences
- A strong understanding of fundraising compliance and relevant legislation
Line management experience, knowledge of payroll giving and in-memory giving, and experience working with external agencies are desirable.

Sightsavers are looking for an experienced Project Finance Officer to support the Digital Futures Programme. As the Project Finance Officer, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations, donor compliance, partner oversight, and ensure alignment with programme objectives.
Further responsibilities include:
Donor Budget Management and Reporting

Financial Management:

Ensure financial reports are produced in compliance with Donor’s exchange rate policies, including keeping track of expenditure in currencies other than GBP and identifying the rate at which they need to be converted into GBP.
Partner Financial Reporting:

Review and coordinate the consolidation of partner financial reports.

Undertake quarterly financial monitoring visits to partners to review internal control processes and provide capacity building in procurement, reporting and compliance and other areas of weakness.

Coordinate with all partners for review of financial reports, payment (Funds) requests to finance and overall financial oversight. (This includes integrating reports, providing financial advice based on donor compliance rules to partners).

Procurement:

Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate you will possess a relevant professional accounting qualification and a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting. You will have working experience in a similar role, ideally within and INGO environment, including a background in managing grants/contracts from institutional donors and Foundations, and have experience in financial review and compliance for public institutions and OPDs.

About You

The Role
You'll lead fundraising strategy across multiple income streams, focusing on trusts, foundations, corporate partnerships and major donors. You'll manage the full fundraising cycle from research and relationship-building through stewardship.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll execute our new fundraising strategy, support our growth plans, research funding opportunities, write strong grant applications, manage a pipeline of major donor prospects, plan our 20th anniversary campaign, and provide quarterly progress reports.
With three days a week focused on foundation and corporate partnerships work, a full-time role would typically include one day on legacy work and one day on community events.
You bring at least three years' fundraising experience, ideally in a charity setting. You're skilled at grant writing, relationship management and strategic planning. You have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You're proactive, flexible and genuinely motivated by mission.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, people-focused manager to shape and deliver both our employee and volunteer experience. You will lead on the design and delivery of our people processes, recruitment, and engagement initiatives, while also driving forward our volunteer strategy and ensuring a positive, consistent experience for our 400+ volunteers.
Working closely with team members across The Charity, you’ll bring expertise, energy and creativity to support, engage and inspire people to give their best - whether they are employed by the charity or volunteering their time and skills.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re looking for a people-focused and purpose-driven manager who will bring energy, empathy, and expertise to our employee and volunteer experience. You’ll be equally confident in advising managers and leaders on people matters and delivering operational processes, from recruitment to onboarding.
You’ll be able to navigate HR and volunteering processes with confidence, ensuring our people feel supported, valued, and equipped to perform at their best. And you’ll have experience of managing or developing volunteer programmes, with a passion for creating a positive, engaging and inclusive experience for everyone who chooses to give their time and skills to The Charity. Whilst we recognise candidates won’t necessarily hold equal strength in employee and volunteer management, the role holder will need experience working across these areas in this role.
You’ll be curious, digitally minded and comfortable using insight and feedback to drive improvements. But above all, you’ll be motivated by our vision to find a cure for brain tumours and will be inspired by how incredible people and volunteering practices can play a part in making this happen.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Managing people operations and advisory support
· Support managers with employee relations advice and guidance (informal and formal people processes), acting as a trusted expert on all people policy and process matters.
· Oversee the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to leaving The Charity, ensuring inclusive, legally compliant and engaging processes throughout each stage.
· Lead recruitment campaigns and talent attraction, writing compelling adverts and building a diverse talent pipeline.
· Manage onboarding and induction processes to ensure a positive first 100 days at The Charity.
· Oversee the communication and administration of policies, contracts, payroll changes, and compliance checks (Right to Work, DBS, references).
· Partner with People & Culture team members to plan and deliver initiatives relating to wellbeing, performance, reward and recognition, and EDI.
· Maintain accurate records on PeopleHR (our HR database) and Team Tailor (our Applicant Tracking System), ensuring compliance with employment law and GDPR.
Managing volunteering operations
· Lead the operational plan with respect to volunteering, ensuring volunteering supports departmental priorities. This will include acting as the central point of contact for volunteering operations, providing guidance, support and inspiration to teams and volunteers on volunteering policy and process.
· Oversee the recruitment, induction and training of volunteers, working with the People Operations Officer, Senior Learning Officer and People Administrator, developing digital and in-person learning resources. This will include promoting volunteering opportunities internally and externally, ensuring clear and engaging communications.
· Develop recognition initiatives to ensure volunteers feel valued and connected, including campaigns such as Volunteers’ Week and Trustees’ Week, working alongside the Internal Communications Manager role.
· Support Volunteer Coordinators across teams with advice, training and problem-solving to ensure a consistently excellent volunteer experience.
· Ensure volunteering activity is safe and aligned with safeguarding, risk and data protection standards through ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with legislation.
· Manage the volunteer management system (Volunteero) and use data and feedback to evaluate and improve the volunteer experience.
Supporting values-led best practice through our work
· Build strong collaborative relationships with team members across The Charity to maximise the contribution of both employees and volunteers.
· Champion our values of being bold, collaborative, innovative, and community first through all people and volunteer initiatives.
· Keep abreast of external best practice in HR and volunteering to ensure our approaches are inclusive and effective.
· Provide line management support to People and Culture team members where relevant, ensuring clarity of expectations and activities, and supporting their development and wellbeing.

What you'll do:
Behaviour Analysis:
- You are liable to observing and monitoring the customer's behaviours, the duration, the intensity, and the damage, as well as factors that may alleviate or trigger the behaviour
- You understand and collaborate with the different support organizations accessible in the community
- You will have ability and skill to present and feedback to other professionals in a formal setting
- Reports possible cases of abuse, neglect or endangerment appropriately
Other Responsibilities:
- If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker.
- Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
- Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
- Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities

An exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of a growing adult literacy charity as it expands across North England
One in 20 adults in the UK has never learnt to read at all. This can have a serious impact on their confidence and wellbeing, limiting access to training, employment, and everyday opportunities that many take for granted. Being unable to read as an adult can be isolating and dangerous, reinforces social inequality, restricts economic growth, and worsens intergenerational disadvantage - but it is never too late to learn.
Read Easy helps adults transform their lives by learning to read. It does this by supporting its growing network of locally run, volunteer-led affiliated groups that offer free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching—both in person and online to adults - aged from 18-88.
With its free, flexible, confidential approach, Read Easy encourages people who are too embarrassed to join a class to come forward for one-to-one support. Each new reader is provided with their own personal Reading Coach, so that they can learn in private and at their own pace. Learning to read transforms their lives in many other ways as well, including enabling them to support their children’s and grandchildren’s reading, and so transfers the benefits to the next generation.
There are currently 80 affiliated Read Easy groups across England, together involving more than a thousand volunteers. Read Easy UK is the registered charity and umbrella organisation which supports this network of affiliated volunteer groups and provides the structure, training and support to enable volunteers to establish groups in new areas.
As our North Regional Adviser, your role would be to provide strategic leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure that all volunteer groups in your region consistently deliver high-quality services aligned with Read Easy UK’s strategy.
You will support local volunteer leaders to strengthen group performance, and foster collaboration across affiliated groups, so that that they deliver coaching to Readers with consistent quality, and a positive and worthwhile experience is had by all.
You will also find volunteers to ‘pioneer’ four new groups in the counties where there is no Read Easy presence and provide them and our 17 existing groups and pioneers in the region, with high-quality support. Your quality support will ensure that they provide the same for their volunteers and new Readers. From meeting (mostly online) with Team Leaders to provide one to one support, and hosting online and annual in-person volunteer forums, to delivering presentations and occasional training for small groups of volunteers, this is a dynamic and rewarding role.
This is a home-based post requiring flexibility, some early evening working and occasional travel to visit groups. The role is available on a part time basis (22.5 hours p/w, 60% of 37.5 hours p/w FTE).
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Live within one of the following areas: York, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire or Greater Manchester (Due to the location of our groups in the region, and to ensure efficient travel);
- have been employed to work with volunteers for at least two years;
- have strong people management and interpersonal skills; excellent communication skills; and the confidence to run meetings and deliver presentations.
