​Established in 2002, Greenhouse Sports is a youth charity specifically using sport to support social change. Sport is our hook to engage young people and one of the vehicles through which we support youth development. But our purpose is not to create elite athletes or address physical inactivity. The Opportunity ​

​Building on an incredibly successful match-giving campaign last November, we are looking to grow our fundraising programme, and are searching for a passionate and relationship‑driven Supporter Engagement and Events Officer to help us deepen supporter connections and deliver exceptional experiences. ​

​​This is a fantastic role for someone who loves building relationships, delivering high‑quality events, and inspiring people to fundraise or donate to a mission that changes young people’s lives.

The Role​

You will play a key part in engaging our community of supporters, from marathon runners to monthly donors to guests at our bespoke events. You’ll lead on mass‑participation challenge events, support the development of our membership/regular giving programme, and help plan and deliver creative, impactful experiences that bring supporters closer to our mission. Working across the fundraising team, you'll help ensure every supporter feels valued, inspired, and connected to the young people we serve.

We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity. We are on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night’s sleep and the chance to thrive at school.

As we grow, we are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Officer to join the Fundraising team, for an initial fixed-term period of 12-months. 

As our ideal candidate, you will need to be within commuting distance of our Leeds warehouse, allowing you to travel regularly to meet with the team. This is a hybrid role based between the Leeds warehouse and home, with at least two days per week at the warehouse. Some travel to other locations may be required occasionally for events.

You will be an enthusiastic team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and work to deadlines.

Alongside your related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of fundraising, customer-facing support, and/or events administration in the charity sector. However, charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.

You will provide the creative, analytical and operational backbone that enables the team to secure the funding needed to reach more people affected by disaster, conflict and climate change.

Your work will empower fundraisers to identify and build meaningful relationships with major donors, corporates and grant-making partners, and to deliver exceptional experiences for these supporters. You'll be the creative force behind how we bring people closer to ShelterBox's work - producing powerful impact reporting, compelling stories and other high-quality materials that ensure our funders feel informed, engaged and excited about the difference they make.

Stewardship & Supporter Experience

• Bring ShelterBox's work to life - develop a range of compelling assets and materials to engage and inspire high-level supporters, showcasing our impact.

• Work collaboratively to write and design high-quality, compelling reports tailored in style and content to suit a range of audiences.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy & Partnerships team to ensure gold standard stewardship for ShelterBox's donors: driving creative, unique and inspiring ideas for tailored stewardship touchpoints throughout the year.

• Own the Philanthropy & Partnerships stewardship calendar, and co-ordinate with fundraisers across the global ShelterBox network to share resources.

• Support with the delivery of Philanthropy & Partnerships stewardship and cultivation events.

• Support with preparations for, and delivery of, emergency fundraising activity in response to major disasters.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Events Officer to join our Events team during an exciting period of growth. Working closely with the Events Manager, you will project manage a varied portfolio of Special and Challenge events, helping to grow income and awareness for the charity.

Our events programme includes events such as our Carol Service, Art Exhibition and Supper Club, alongside major challenge events including the London Marathon, Great North Run, Royal Parks Half Marathon and London Landmarks Half Marathon. As the programme develops, you will have the opportunity to lead on specific events and contribute to shaping future activity.

This is a varied and hands-on role, combining planning, logistics and on-the-day delivery with supporter stewardship, supplier management and collaboration across teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering a portfolio of special and challenge events, ensuring excellent supporter experience

Managing income and expenditure against event budgets and targets

Building and maintaining strong relationships with supporters, suppliers and external partners

About you

You enjoy delivering events that combine creativity with meticulous organisation. You are confident juggling multiple projects, building relationships and working collaboratively across teams. You will already have experience of fundraising events or challenge events, with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Experience working with high-value supporters, celebrities or suppliers would be an advantage together with experience of event management software/word press or if not a willingness to learn, enhance and streamline systems.

Job description

The PR and Communications Officer will support the Senior PR and Communications Officer to raise awareness of the Charity by identifying and promoting compelling stories to regional and national media. Working closely with colleagues across PR and Communications, clinical teams, Fundraising, Marketing and Digital, the role will help to showcase the Charity’s impact on people affected by cancer in the UK and globally, while supporting fundraising activity across all income streams.

The PR and Communications Officer will support the Senior PR and Communications Officer in writing content for relevant in‑house magazine titles, along with using their communications expertise, with guidance from the wider PR and Communications Team, to help promote community fundraising events, corporate partnerships, major donor events and fundraising campaigns.

This a fantastic opportunity for an organised, detail-focused individual with excellent writing skills to help raise awareness of the Charity, making a meaningful difference to people with cancer.

What you’ll be doing  

· Working with the PR and Communications Team to maximise opportunities to promote the Charity’s funding of life-saving research to develop new treatments which have global impact.

· Supporting a comprehensive media service which includes the proactive sell in of positive stories about the work of the Charity.

· Building relationships with clinical colleagues and in particular, Charity-funded consultants, nurses, researchers, and allied health professionals to gain their support for Charity communications including press releases, tailored pitches, other print media channels and the Charity's magazine.

· With support, write and edit the Charity’s supporter magazine, Progress, in collaboration with the Charity’s leadership team and fundraising colleagues.

• Proven experience of securing philanthropic income at the five-figure level or above

To provide excellent supporter experience and donor stewardship, and to ensure efficient and accurate processing of fundraised income.

Responsible For

Day-to-day responsibility for supporter care of fundraising audiences – managing enquiries through phone, post  and online. Responsible for income processing onto the CRM of all donations. And supporting the portfolio in providing excellent supporter experience to retain supporters for the long-term.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage incoming post and communications from supporters and potential supporters, responding to queries within the SLA in a friendly, supporter-focussed manner.
• Income processing of all donations and month-end reconciliation, ensuring all information relating is accurate on the database.
• Manage administration of gift aid processes including scanning declarations and adding to the fundraising database.
• Manage administration of online giving platforms such as Just Giving, CAF and GoFundMe.
• Working to support the development and delivery of the Audience Journey Project.
• Ensure high quality of communications with all audiences at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of and develop all products offered by thefundraising team and identify areas where cross promotion can beutilised.

Quality, Compliance and Safety

• Supporting the Fundraising team to maintain the quality and integrity of fundraising data and work in partnership with the Database Officer to maintain and develop an effective database.
• Perform duties in line with Fundraising Code, GDPR and Hft’s Policies and Procedures.
• Adhere to and maintain Hft’s Health and Safety policies, standards and guidelines at all 
times.

Relationships

• Work with the wider team to support individuals and organisations in their fundraising activities, providing them with the materials, equipment and advice they need to maximise the success of their fundraising.
• Ensure that supporters are thanked appropriately and coordinating with the rest of the fundraising team to deliver the annual thank-a-thon and any other stewardship activities.
• Work with Reception and Finance with regards to enquires and fundraised income.

• Able to provide outstanding supporter experience to all audiences.
• Understanding of fundraising and where different income is generated.
• Able to effectively manage a varied workload.

• Carry out a range of duties and undertake any other duties as specified from time to time in accordance with Hft business requirements.

Prospectus is thrilled to be working with our client to help them recruit for a Supporter Development Retention Manager to join their team. The organisation provides life-saving emergency relief and longer-term medical care to some of the most vulnerable and excluded communities around the world. As an independent medical humanitarian organisation, they deliver care based only on need, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, religion or political affiliation.
   
This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis with a salary of £46,784.49 per annum and the postholder will be working in a hybrid model from their offices in London.
 
The Supporter Development Retention Manager is responsible for delivering the organisation's Retention and Stewardship Programme, overseeing these communications to warm donors (under £10k), focussing on building relationships with individual supporters and developing other warm audiences to increase their financial contribution and loyalty. You will manage the implementation and delivery of the full supporter journey for warm appeal donors, including welcome journeys and lapsed reactivation journeys. The postholder will also be providing line management support to the Supporter Development Officer.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of working in the UK charity marketing sector, in a fundraising capacity, and/or direct marketing with responsibility for Retention/Stewardship products. You will have significant experience managing direct marketing mailings from concept, planning, design, print, production and postage.
