Job description

Efficient, practical Site Management skills to take responsilibility for maintenance and running the Sutton Sea Cadets Unit buildings, ensuring that premisies and contents provide a safe environment for our young people to develop. Joining this team provides opportunities for advising and delivering on projects.

The role is varied including but not limited to: basic maintenance and repairs, management of contractors, security checks, hazard reporting, fire alarm testing, general cleaning and upkeep. Hours can be flexibly deployed with agreement of the Unit Chair.

Sutton Sea Cadets is a branch of the UK's leading maritime charity that provides a head start ot young people through nautical adventure and fun; we currently have over 70 cadets in this thriving unit so need a dedicated person to support us.

The unit buildings comprise several rooms in church hall premises, and two standalone buildings for storage and meetings. Our cadets are expected to leave all areas in a clean and tidy condition after any meetings and they take pride looking after the facitlities they use. What we need is someone with professional or good DIY practical skills to spot, undertake and manage the range of tasks to keep buildings not only fit for purpose, but improve them where practical.

In summary: an opportunity for someone observant, self motivated, with good practical skills and a bit of time on their hands, interested in being part of a team. Additionally we would also welcome a friend/colleague/partner who has any time to support with the cleaning.
