Purpose of role

The Business Development Manager will lead our efforts to secure high-profile, high-value partnerships with corporate organisations  that will generate vital income for children's palliative care. Securing new partnerships and growing our income requires exceptional collaboration skills; a driven, tenacious and resourceful nature; innovation and creativity; and a passionate determination to make a difference to the lives of children and families across the UK.

The main objectives are as follows:

1. Secure new corporate partnerships raising funds to support Together for Short Lives’ direct work, and our National Fundraising Scheme (raising funds on behalf of the UK’s children’s hospices).
2. Develop and deliver a business development strategy, including  prospect research, managing  a robust pipeline of opportunities, and developing a diverse range of business development products. 
3. Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of individual contacts and organisations, including prospective and existing supporters.

About the role

The Recruitment Officer plays a key role in delivering an efficient, compliant and candidate focused recruitment service across the organisation. Recovery Navigators (Mental Health) – Intensive Community Rehabilitation Service

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary clinically led Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team, within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. You will be managed and employed by Birmingham Mind, but you will be working as part of an integrated team including clinicians and a psychology team. You will be working with people who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties, supporting them in their own accommodation within the Birmingham and Solihull area. You will be completing interventions that have been identified in each service users’ care plans, Dialog+, which will help to strengthen and maintain skills, abilities and recovery.

Ideally you will be QCF/NVQ level 3 qualified or have a willingness to work towards this qualification. It is essential that you have an empathy for people experiencing mental health issues and are committed to service user involvement and empowerment. You will have a good understanding of equal opportunities, confidentiality, safeguarding and health & safety.

You will need to be flexible due to the shift patterns which include days (09:00 – 17:00), evenings (12:00 – 20:00pm), and weekends (every 7 weeks).

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA). This is a full time role on fixed term contract until 31/03/2027. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse, who are inpatients or outpatients of Bedford Hospital. This role will be part of our other wider specialist services covering Bedfordshire.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Working closely with the safeguarding team and a range of other hospital departments
• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service trough individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:

 1. Develop and implement the Trust’s Individual Giving acquisition strategy across regular giving, one‑off donors, mid‑value supporters, and legacy pledgers, in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising & Communications.

2. Lead the planning and management of the annual acquisition budget, ensuring income and expenditure forecasts are accurate and regularly monitored.

3. Deliver integrated, supporter‑focused campaigns across direct mail, TV, door‑drop, inserts, press, telephone fundraising, and digital channels, ensuring activity meets agreed targets, deadlines, and quality standards.

4. Work with the Database Manager and external partners to ensure accurate data selection, segmentation, and fulfilment for all campaigns.

5. Monitor donor behaviour and key performance indicators, including attrition, response rates, and ROI, and develop strategies to enhance retention and reactivate lapsed supporters.

6. Collaborate with creative and fundraising agencies to test, refine, and optimise campaign content, propositions, and targeting.

7. Ensure the highest standard of donor care, working closely with the Individual Giving (Stewardship & Retention) Manager, Database Manager, and fulfilment providers to deliver a consistent and positive supporter experience.

8. Strengthen the regular‑giving acquisition proposition, identifying growth opportunities and mitigating donor attrition.

9. Maximise Gift Aid income by ensuring all acquisition activity includes appropriate prompts and compliance measures.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.  

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role is a fixed term role until May 2027 with the opportunity to be made permanent subject to contract renewal.

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was established in memory of Suzy Lamplugh, a young estate agent who tragically disappeared while at work in 1986 and was later declared deceased in 1993.Created to honour Suzy’s legacy, the Trust aims to empower individuals and organisations to take a stand against abuse, aggression, and violence in all forms, supporting safety in both personal and professional lives. 

Role Overview 

London ISA’s will deliver high quality advocacy, advice, and emotional support to victims across all risk levels, assisting them to navigate the criminal justice system (CJS), civil and family courts, and wider statutory and voluntary services.The role will involve multi-agency collaboration, risk assessment, safety planning, and supporting victims to understand and exercise their rights. 

Person Specification 

Essential 

• Interest and commitment to the work of Suzy Lamplugh Trust 

• Experience providing advocacy, advice, or support to victims of stalking, abuse, violence, or harassment 

• Experience navigating the criminal justice system, civil or family courts 

• Experience in using SASH or conducting other VAWG based risk assessments and developing safety plans 

• Experience liaising with external agencies and multi-agency collaboration 

• Experience providing emotional support to clients experiencing trauma or distress 

• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and maintain accurate records including EDI monitoring 

• Experience of handling confidential information and understanding safeguarding obligations 

Initially office-based (London) for 3 months to support a meaningful induction, moving to a blended working model (40% office / 60% home). While London-based candidates are ideal, we'll consider applicants from nearby areas too.

Earlsfield Foodbank was set up in 2013 and is part of IFAN. We are based in St Andrew's Church, Earlsfield, London SW18 and operate on a Thursday morning. Our team of Volunteers provides food and support to the 300 local "guests" that are registered with us. Typically 70-80 come each week. As food poverty is often a symptom other issues we provide further support on the day. The Home Café which is also based in the Church kindly enables us to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Our income is a mix of grants, donations (both cash and food direct) and fund raising events. 

We are seeking a manager who can:

1. Lead the team on the Thursday morning.

2. Promote the role of the Foodbank within the local community to increase the level of donations from individuals and local businesses.

3. Work with the Trustees to secure multi-year grants.
