Advocate Practitioner Cheshire West

Permanent with funding until 31st March 2028

21 hours a week - days to be agreed with successful candidate

£26,100 per annum/£15,660 pro rata for 21 hours

Home based with expectation of travel across Cheshire West to provide advocacy services (mileage paid at 55p a mile)

About the role:

To deliver independent, rights-based advocacy services for children and young people, ensuring their wishes, feelings and views are heard, understood and considered in decisions affecting their lives

Provide advocacy support to children and young people placed both within and outside Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East local authority areas where commissioned.

Experience:

-Experience of working directly with children and young people.

-Experience of supporting vulnerable children and young people.

-Experience of partnership working with professionals and agencies.

-Experience of maintaining accurate records and managing a workload.

Skills

-A proven ability to engage positively with young people and involve them in the decision- making process

-Ability to relate to the specific needs of children and young people

-Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.

-Ability to support children and young people to express their wishes, feelings and views.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise workload effectively.

-Ability to recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
