Overview of the role:

• Support the delivery of our quarterly campaigns by working with the team to create engaging and exciting content.
• Act as a brand champion ensuring branding and messaging is consistent and accessible.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate campaign and ad hoc content creation
  • Work with the Therapy Communicator to obtain content from the therapy team and ensure content adheres to our values.
  • Work with the Campaign Supporter (content designer) to ensure graphics are ready ahead of time.
  • Draft content where needed for the comms team for email, social media and website.
  • Ensure all content is accessible and on brand including writing alt text.
  • Keep Monday . com up to date with progress.
  • Schedule content across different platforms.

  • Contribute to the organisation and planning of events throughout the year, including coordinating logistics, leading on promotional materials, and supporting on-the-day activities as needed.‍

Person Specification

We are looking looking for an efficient, well-organised, enthusiastic person to join the team with the following qualities.

• Be able to work independently and with initiative when needed.
• Have experience creating and writing content for different communications platforms.  
• Have strong communication skills as you will be required to work with different teams across the organisation
• Be able to multitask and prioritise.
• Experience with the following software/platforms is desirable but training can be given; Canva, MailChimp and Monday . com.

Salary and hours

• Salary: £28,000 per annum, full time equivalent (this salary is consistent with our organisational pay structure). We would consider a freelancer.
• Part time: 16 hours per week.
• Fixed term, maternity cover contract for 9 months.
• The role holder has autonomy to create a working schedule that fits their needs. We do require at least 4 hours on a Monday as that is a core working day. The remainder of the working hours can be worked flexibly across the week in business hours.
• This is a remote role.
• There are 2-3 meetings a year that could be attended in person if that suited the role holder but can be attended online.

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11304 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Hampshire, specifically North, Mid and Central Hampshire (Basingstoke/Winchester area) However, Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include team meetings or other work related meetings)

Salary: Circa £18,812 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week

The Role

We are looking for a Complex Caseworker to join the Bristol High Stability Housing team. In this role you will work with a fixed group or identified people who are referred to the scheme who require a specialist intervention and multi-disciplinary approach to secure sustainable outcomes.

In this role you will work with the Service Manager and alongside local services. You will take responsibility for carrying a caseload and supporting the day to day delivery of the scheme. You will work towards delivering outcomes which focus on sustaining accommodation, improving health and wellbeing, engaging and sustaining formal treatment for substance misuse, and securing a range of educational and employment opportunities including volunteering. You will work with the Rough Sleeping Navigator Coordinator to:

• Be the single point of contact while supporting clients through the transition into independent tenancies.
• Build and maintain working relationships with agencies and individuals who can aid clients in sustaining their recovery and meeting outcomes.
• Work with colleagues to find ways to address support needs for individual clients such as improving life skills, tenancy sustainment, employment and education, and building recovery networks with agencies, peers and from within the community.
• Provide evidence based information on desired outcomes.

Core Member, Office and Communications

Your working week will encompass a range of core tasks that are often shared amongst community members. You will be expected (after an initial learning and induction period) to host and facilitate events, lead chapel gatherings, take a turn cooking, cleaning and helping around the house and gardens. If you have particular practical skills in these areas that would be an advantage. On occasion you will need to cover for colleagues in their absence. These shared tasks apply to all established members of our core community and we work very much as a team to plan our work and develop our offer to our visitors

As Core Community Member with lead responsibility for office work and digital communication at Othona you’ll be representing the ethos and values of Othona to all who contact the Centre, offering a friendly and helpful response and working to increase our online presence and thus our reach.

You will need to be a good administrator, and enjoy planning and organising the office tasks including responding to enquiries, taking bookings, maintaining good records and other aspects of office work.

You will have good digital skills and be at ease in using social media and other online communication. You will become the key person in rationalising and improving our office IT and in exploring effective new marketing opportunities. Your work, within an overall communications policy agreed with the warden as your line manager, will help us to attract a wider demographic to attend and enjoy what Othona offers.

But just as important, you need the personal qualities to interact sensitively with our visitors and other contacts, to be well organised without being inflexible, to cope calmly in changing circumstances and work cheerfully in a small team. So spiritual and emotional intelligence and an interest in people will need to underpin your technical skills.

You will need to live on-site where the available accommodation is a self-contained flat. A job-share with someone who shares your accommodation could be feasible. Please let us know if you have this in mind so that we can discuss the practicalities.  

The salary offered is £9,918.38, with full board and lodging, pension provision, utility bills and council tax paid by Othona, this equates to a much higher figure in real terms and is in accordance with relevant provisions within the National Minimum Wage Act. The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is an independent charity established in 1967. For over 57 years, we have promoted our vision of a society in which people can live safely and are treated with equal dignity and respect, regardless of where they are from or how they came to the UK. To achieve this, we provide legal advice, representation and holistic support to migrants experiencing injustice, poverty, and discrimination; we undertake parliamentary advocacy and expert policy analysis; we speak out and challenge damaging and discriminatory media narratives about immigration; we use law as a tool of resistance;  we work in solidarity with migrants and grassroots groups, and we build campaigns that work towards a fairer approach in immigration and asylum law and policy. We root all aspects of our work in humanity, compassion, anti-oppression and anti-racist values, taking an approach that radically challenges the way that things are to build a new and better world for migrants.

Role purpose

This is a new role, where the director will bring together the work of the Advocacy and the Communications teams to lead JCWI's campaigns. The Director leads JCWI’s campaigns and community organising; policy and parliamentary advocacy; working in alignment with directly impacted communities and partners within and beyond the migration sector. The Director builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensures the organisation’s collective expertise influences political debates and the public narrative on migrants’ rights and racial justice.

The role provides strategic leadership for JCWI’s campaigns to drive forward positive change for migrant rights in an increasingly hostile political climate, and supports a wide range of work building campaigns, coalitions and networks to advance migrant justice, ensuring that JCWI is a generous and collaborative partner, working in solidarity with all groups, including grassroots and community groups, unions, faith groups and NGOs.

The Director provides line management and strategic leadership to the Advocacy and Communications Team, overseeing the direction of the team, overseeing the teams' work and ensuring close, collaborative working relationships across all teams.

The Director is a lead spokesperson for the organisation, representing JCWI and our values at public forums, in the media and within coalitions. They will set the narrative and agenda for public discourse on migrant rights and border reform, lead the organisation’s long-term digital outreach and engagement work and support the team to create compelling and accessible content, driving traffic to our digital channels and converting this into successful supporter and donor recruitment and engagement strategies. They maintain the visibility of JCWI and its messages and protect & promote JCWI’s reputation as a leading voice in the discourse on migration, rights, and racial justice in the UK.

The Role

About the Role:

You will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also provide cover for the local VS Helpline.
