We are looking for a Development Officer to support Portsmouth Cathedral’s fundraising and development activities. This new role, which is grant funded by the Cathedrals Sustainability Fund for 24 months, will work closely with the Head of Development & Fundraising to grow income, improve communication with donors, and help deliver key projects that support the Cathedral’s mission. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a real difference to the future of Portsmouth Cathedral. 

The role is mostly office based with the team in Cathedral House, Old Portsmouth but allows for flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Building Relationships with Donors: Draft thank-you letters, updates, and newsletters. Organize events to engage donors and welcome new supporters. Maintain confidentiality.
• Trusts and Foundation Applications: Research and apply for funding. Track deadlines and submit applications on time. Record outcomes and provide reports.
• Project Support: Assist with key projects like the National Lottery Heritage Fund project. Ensure smooth project execution and maximize funding opportunities.
• Improving Fundraising Operations: Maintain accurate records using the CRM system. Organize fundraising events and meetings.
• General Administration: Prepare materials, arrange meetings, and coordinate activities for fundraising campaigns. Contribute ideas to improve fundraising and communication.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Designer to design visuals and engaging communications to help the organisation communicate to a range of audiences across a variety of platforms.

The Role: 
•    This role is key to helping us communicate key missions and projects to a large audience using digital channels and print.
•    You will take briefs and work with clients to design and develop visuals and media in line with their requirements and deadlines.
•    This role is responsible for client liaison and ensuring an up-to-date online workflow system using Monday. com

What will I be doing?

• Working with the Sports Manager, account managing and developing various high-value relationships with 3rd party event partners across the portfolio 

• Work with the sports marketing team to inform the development of the Sports Team PR and social marketing plan with particular focus on our key events

• Proposing stretching sponsorship income and recruitment targets 

• Responsible for creating and managing Sports Team web pages and social media pages and producing innovative and bespoke content that is user friendly across all devices and briefing in social priorities

• Working in collaborate with our Event Delivery Team to support the planning and delivery of "On the day experiences", working with our operation teams and 3rd party event organisers to coordinate this.

• Managing annual cycle of each event within portfolio including managing the online registration platforms, updating event pages, opening/closing events and supporting on-the-day activities at events

• Through sector networking & tracking, establishing a solid understanding of our competitors and regularly conducting analysis that can be used to benefit the Sports Team as a whole

• Develop internal relationships with multiple teams across Cancer Research UK to maximise our internal Sports Team brand

• Play a key part in our Cancer Research UK on the day team for a number of Sports events (on weekends) nationally - such as the London Marathon, the Great North Run and other mass participantion events.

Main Responsibilities:

Job Overview

Work experience:

• Proven success in creating and implementing strategies that influence/impact on legislative and executive policy.
• Deep understanding of relevant the UK’s political structures and processes, and familiar with leverage points within these institutions that can be targeted to achieve policy change objectives.

Conservation Lead (Highland Line) - Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels 

Salary: £28,288 per annum

The Role: 

We are looking for a passionate and driven person to lead and deliver Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels (SSRS) project operations across the Highland Line Control Zone. Coordinating efforts to protect red squirrels from replacement by grey squirrels and from squirrel pox disease, through delivering project objectives including developing new rapid response monitoring networks in strategic areas, coordinating island eradication efforts and fostering new partnerships across the landscape to ensure long-term support. 

You will work closely with a collaborative project team, partner agencies, and stakeholders to deliver innovative and essential change. This is a chance to make a difference to the protection and promotion of one of Scotland’s iconic species. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties include: 

· Strategic Planning: leading the planning and delivery of project objectives and monitoring. Monitoring and evaluating progress to adapt operational priorities and approaches as needed.

Emmaus UK is seeking a proactive and experienced permanent HR Manager to join our team at an exciting time of growth and transformation. This newly created role will lead the HR function and support the delivery of our People & EDI Strategy, helping us become a best practice national body and an employer of choice. Working closely with the Director of Resources, the HR Manager will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to exit interviews, while ensuring our policies, systems, and culture promote a positive and inclusive working environment.

The successful candidate will have CIPD Level 5 or above, strong HR advisory experience and a solid understanding of UK employment law. They will be confident managing recruitment, employee relations, and policy development, and will bring excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Experience with HR databases, particularly Sage HR, is desirable, as is experience managing budgets.

This is a part-time role (4 days per week) with a salary of £38,950 (£48,688 pro rata ).

This is a remote role, that will involve occasional travel to sites and the main offices in Birmingham.

Job Overview

As the Advocacy Officer, you are responsible for building the profile, influence and credibility of IRC’s work with UK politicians, political parties and opinion formers on our humanitarian and development issues. You will be delivering our influence strategies and identifying strategic lobbying opportunities and enabling colleagues to exploit them fully through the use of innovative and creative tactics that help IRC stand out in a crowded arena. You will support building critical strategic relationships to help deliver on IRC’s objectives in parliament. You will contribute fresh insights and analysis to inform IRC’s influence approaches, tactics, and messages.

Major Responsibilities:

• Advocacy Strategy: Support in delivering advocacy strategies, collaborating with the Advocacy Manager, policy leads, public advocacy and communications colleagues, to advance IRC’s key advocacy objectives. 
• ​Political and policy monitoring: Analyse and report on relevant political and policy trends and regularly communicate across external relations teams.Expand IRC’s political reach by tracking and analysing shifting government positions, individuals engaging on our issues, and the politics around our issues. Track political processes and profile opportunities / events; including bills, select committee inquiries, and other parliamentary and political developments. 

• Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining relationships with a core group of political champions in and around Westminster, whilst raising IRC’s profile and awareness of our positions on key issues among a wider political audience in order to increase our ability to deliver policy change.
• Political engagement: Developing and providing regular written or oral briefings to MPs, Peers, government officials, and other decision makers on key policies and campaigns. Producing specific asks to parliamentarians on a regular basis – parliamentary questions, debate contributions etc.

• Communications: Provide market and audience expertise to communications team to craft public advocacy in the UK. Support team in developing communications strategy and develop materials for advocacy targets, including digital/social content and take actions.
• Teamwork: Support a positive team culture by acting openly and collaboratively, supporting colleagues in their work and sharing credit with others where appropriate. 
• Steward Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: both in the culture of IRC, as well as in the policy solutions we develop and the ways we wield influence.

Job Requirements:

Work experience:

• Experience in delivering advocacy strategies in the UK. 2 years + of experience working on development and humanitarian issues.

Demonstrated skills and competencies:

• Proven success in delivering successful strategies that influence/impact on legislative and executive policy.
• Good understanding of relevant the UK’s political structures and processes, and familiar with leverage points within these institutions that can be targeted to achieve policy change objectives.
• Ability to innovatively and creatively apply influencing techniques and tactics to consistently make IRC stand out from the crowd in Westminster, Whitehall and with other key international stakeholders.

• Knowledge of development and humanitarian issues in the UK.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with parliamentarians and colleagues in the humanitarian and development fields. 
• Strong writing skills and the ability to translate sophisticated material and data into coherent narratives that resonate with policymakers.

The Dollywood Foundation UK runs Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the UK, the worlds largest book gifting programme. Over the last 30 years the Imagination Library has delivered nearly 300 million books to children globally. In the UK we support over 60k children a month, delivering them a free book sent to their house every month.

The primary purpose of this new role is to increase registrations for the Imagination Library initially across London. This role will support our Local Programme Partners to reach families with whom they are not currently engaging.

This role is integral to that plan, working with local authority and community organisations to spread the word about the programme. Sounds great, what will I be doing?

This role is a comprehensive HR Business Partner position responsible for aligning HR strategy with the operational and strategic goals of Hestia. The postholder will work closely with designated client groups to support organisational change, including restructures, TUPE processes, and the implementation of new services. A key aspect of the role is coaching and supporting line managers to lead inclusively and in alignment with the organisation's values, as well as helping embed learning and development initiatives across teams. The role also champions Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), wellbeing, and reward and benefits.

The role involves providing expert HR guidance on employee relations and employment law, particularly in complex or sensitive cases. This includes managing issues such as conduct, performance, absence, grievances, and whistleblowing. As a member of the Resolution Hub, the HR Business Partner also leads mediation and conflict resolution efforts. The role ensures that HR practices are legally compliant and reflective of Hestia's values, collaborating with other departments to continually improve and align the people strategy.

In addition, the postholder oversees wellbeing and benefits initiatives, maintaining internal platforms and working with third-party providers. They use data to monitor engagement and uptake, guiding improvements and equipping managers with the tools to support staff effectively. The role also includes project management responsibilities, such as vendor transitions and scheme enhancements, to strengthen Hestia's overall employee value proposition.

The HR Business Partner will also take a lead in business change processes, ensuring due diligence during TUPE and structural changes, while facilitating smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences for staff. Externally, they may represent the organisation as the main HR contact. Data analysis and reporting are essential, with the postholder tracking key HR metrics and contributing to both internal and external reports, such as those for the Charity Commission.

Finally, the role involves supporting broader HR functions, including recruitment and HR operations, as well as chairing and coordinating team meetings. There is a strong emphasis on contributing to and leading EDI and anti-racism strategies, supporting internal network groups, and collaborating with Hestia's recognised trade union, Unison. This is a dynamic and impactful role that requires strategic insight, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive, values-led approach to HR.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate for this role will bring substantial experience as an HR Business Partner, ideally gained in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. They will have led on key people-focused areas such as wellbeing, reward, and benefits, and possess a strong background in managing complex HR issues. With at least 5 to 7 years of experience in HR Business Partnering or as an HR Manager, they will be adept at supporting organisational change and driving strategic people initiatives.

They will be fully CIPD qualified, preferably to Level 7, and demonstrate a deep knowledge of employment law. Their experience will include leading TUPE transfers, managing restructures, and handling redundancy and consultation processes. The role requires someone with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, who can build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders while offering challenge and support when necessary.

Attention to detail, strong numeracy, and excellent written English are all essential. The candidate will also need to be IT literate and comfortable working with data. A sound understanding of safeguarding is required, and prior experience working in the charity or public sector would be advantageous.
