About the role

This role is term time working 37 hours X 42 weeks.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and energised Assistant Team Leader to support the delivery of the King’s Trust Team Programme. This is a practical, people-focused role supporting young people who are returning to education after significant barriers or disadvantage.

As Assistant Team Leader, you will work closely with the Team Leader to run three Team cohorts each academic year, helping to deliver a high‑quality, trauma‑informed programme that builds skills, resilience, and ambition.

You will:

  • Support the planning and delivery of three King’s Trust Teams per year.
  • Assist in delivering daily sessions, group work, and activity-based learning.
  • Help lead team-building activities, outdoor learning, and confidence-building projects.
  • Join the team on a residential trip three times per year, supporting young people to step out of their comfort zone safely and successfully.
  • Support young people to plan, organise and deliver their community impact project.
  • Encourage teamwork, problem-solving and positive contribution.
  • Assist learners in securing meaningful work placements aligned to their personal interests and future aspirations.
  • Visit learners on placement and provide ongoing support to ensure they thrive.
  • Work as part of the Pre-Technical, supporting learners with social, emotional, and educational barriers.
  • Use a trauma-informed approach to create safe, trusting relationships focused on progress and wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviours, routines, and engagement.

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £26,916 - £29,225 per annum (this will be pro-rata'd to reflect the weeks worked) based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
