Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Middlesbrough shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.
About you
You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. We’re looking for a Project officer to support our work with micro community and voluntary groups across the city, boosting the impact of these groups across Birmingham.
The role builds on our work with small community organisations, within a defined geographical area in Birmingham. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of activities that support small and micro voluntary groups in the city.
Briefly, the role will involve:-
- Organising, hosting and facilitating (online and in-person) meetings, events and workshops
- Developing networks and contacts and working with host organisations and wider stakeholders for the benefit of the groups we support
- Speaking to volunteers and group members (in person and online) to understand their queries about setting up or developing their micro community group or small charity.
This role is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Location: Home based but the role requires travel to and from community venues around Birmingham.

ABOUT MIGRATEFUL
Migrateful runs cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants who are on the journey to integration and gaining access to employment. Our cookery classes provide ideal conditions not just for learning English and building confidence, but also for promoting contact and cultural exchange with the wider community.
Since its establishment in 2017, Migrateful has made a profound impact on the lives of 92 cookery class teachers. Together, they have conducted over 3500 classes, sharing the rich tapestry of their cultures and cuisines with over 40,000 participants.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will support the Head of Chef Development in the organisation, recruitment, and facilitation of our Cookery Teacher Training Programme. You will also be responsible for developing, writing, and amending class documents for our cookery class experiences, including recipes, class plans, and allergen matrices.
Over time you will forge the skills to monitor classes and provide nuanced, effective feedback to Cookery Class Teachers to maintain and improve the quality of their teaching.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a warm, empathetic, and engaging individual with exceptional organisational and communication skills for the role of Chef Training Coordinator at Migrateful. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for people and inclusion, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
They should be proactive, flexible, and creative in their approach to problem-solving. Experience with recipe development, food safety certification, and working with refugees, migrants, or non-native English speakers is highly desirable, and professional or personal cookery experience would be a plus. The ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people, including marginalised groups, and manage volunteer coordination or teams is crucial.

Chef Training
- Supporting the Head of Chef Development in the planning, organisation, recruitment and facilitation of the Migrateful Cookery Teacher Training Programme in London
- Supporting the Head of Chef Development inducting and managing Chef Training mentors
Chef Feedback
- Working with Chef Development and Operations Team to manage and distribute class feedback, update any changes to class documents and feedback to chefs
- Offering general support where needed to the Operations and Chef Development Team
- Supporting with the development of the Cookery Class Teacher journey
- Establish good working relationships with Cookery Class Teachers and facilitators
- Scheduling and running Migrateful community events (socials and monthly chef drop-ins
Class Documents
- Leading on the development, writing and amendment of class documents (recipes, class plans, chef profiles, allergen matrices)
- Ensure all recipes have accurate allergen information and menus have allergens matrix
- Finalising class documents and uploading documents to Salesforce
- Liaising with Operations Team and ensuring corrections to documents are implemented including updating Salesforce

About The Role

Are you a proactive, collaborative and target-driven individual with a proven record of delivering effective and engaging training to adults facing multiple disadvantages? Do you have a strong background of working to targets and recording information and statistics to enable effective performance monitoring?

We work in partnership with the National Probation Service supporting women who are subject to community orders. We offer an end-to-end service that encompasses support and our trauma-informed, gender-specific approach aims to have a positive impact on the lives of women and their families.

About this exciting opportunity
As Trainer Assessor, you will liaise with St Giles staff and external partner organisations to identify and engage learners with the relevant skills, motivation and aptitude, before interviewing applicants, assessing learning and other needs and carrying out risk assessments. You will then work with learners to produce realistic individual learning plans, before providing a comprehensive induction and continual one-to-one support.
This support will include planning and delivering a training programme that will lead to the achievement of Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance, where you will assess and support learners through the qualification and monitor their progress towards timely completion and certification. Developing and maintaining the range of work placement opportunities, matching learners to placements and ensuring positive relationships with placements providers is a key aspect of this role, as is attending internal and external meetings and best practice seminars and undertaking all the administration necessary for tracking learner progress.
What we are looking for:
- Experience of delivering training to adults facing disadvantage and ability to support people who have multiple and complex needs
- A strong understanding of how to support and motivate learners with multiple complex needs
- Proven ability to apply a creative approach to planning activities and to adopt a range of approaches
- A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

The role
We are looking for passionate and adaptable Sessional Inclusion Workers to join our Activities for All service in Leeds.
You will offer short-term, one to one support to disabled children encouraging their inclusion in mainstream play and leisure activities.
As a part of the role you will encourage universal play and leisure activities to be inclusive of all children.
Working hours will tend to be after-school and evenings during the week and weekends.
The hours are flexible and can fit around studies or another job.
About you
Essential:
- You will have experience of inclusion work with children and young people with additional needs in play and leisure settings
- Be able to show a knowledge of inclusion policies and procedures
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be able to work on your own initiative as well as following set procedures and working with others
- Have strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Be able to travel across Leeds
Desirable:
- A positive approach to the inclusion of all children and young people in play and leisure settings
- Knowledge of services and play provision for disabled children in Leeds
