We love dogs. That’s why we do whatever we can to make sure every four-legged friend gets the love they deserve. We’ll never put a healthy dog down, so our work is focused on helping dogs in need, supporting owners every step of the walk, and creating a better world for dogs in the future. It’s what we’ve been doing since 1891 and how we’ve grown to become the UK’s leading dog charity, helping 12,000 loyal friends find their forever homes every year.
Dog School plays an essential part of achieving positive change in the community; aiming to prevent the development of problem behaviours in dogs which may lead to relinquishment or euthanasia. Our teams provide positive, high quality, welfare friendly advice on dog training and behaviour during our fun, educational classes. Leading a small team of coaches, you will have a responsibility for development of in-class training skills and behaviour knowledge, as well as undertaking all performance management activities. With experience of delivering dog training Classes you will have excellent communication and organisational skills. Passionate about helping dog owners better understand their pets you will have a good knowledge of the scientific principles underlying the development of behaviour in dogs.
An experience of managing a small team would be an advantage. However, we are keen to hear from talented trainers who are looking to develop their management skills. We also have plenty of other development opportunities; all Dog School team members are developed towards their APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) assessment and ongoing membership is paid for. We also offer comprehensive training packages focusing on Dog Training, Customer Service, Presentation Skills, Key Management Skills and Media training to help you make a difference.

Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.
