We are a well-established, independent charity based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and this is an exciting part-time opportunity for you to join our small and friendly team. 

The role
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Mental Health Trainer to deliver short courses to groups of people in our community to improve their mental wellbeing. You will also deliver mental health awareness workshops to corporates and other organisations in and around the Tunbridge Wells area, and help to facilitate internal workshops with staff and volunteers. The main duties and responsibilities are:

1. Course Development:

• Design and develop short courses for specific groups of people in our community, with information and tools to enable people to manage their mental wellbeing, ensuring content is evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and relevant to diverse audiences.
• Develop workshops for corporates and other organisations on mental health and steps they can take to promote mental wellbeing in their workplace or organisation.

2. Course Delivery:

• Facilitate engaging and interactive short courses and workshops on mental health, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide practical tools and strategies for managing mental health and promoting mental wellbeing.

3. Participant Engagement:

• Foster a participatory and non-judgmental atmosphere that encourages open discussion and sharing among participants.
• Respond to participant questions and concerns with empathy and expertise.

5. Promotion:

• Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and disseminate marketing and promotional materials and activities for the short courses.
• Attend events and meetings, and deliver talks, to promote the courses, training and the work of the wider charity.

6. Evaluation and Feedback:

• Collect and analyse feedback from participants to continually improve course content and delivery, and share feedback with colleagues.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the courses and workshops and make adjustments as needed.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

You will have experience of supporting people with complex mental health issues, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong networking and presentation skills and a passion for raising awareness about mental wellbeing. As a Mental Health Trainer, you will play a crucial role in representing the charity and enhancing the mental wellbeing of our community through the delivery of engaging and informative short courses and workshops.

You will be a great team player, and someone who is friendly, collaborative and who wants to contribute to a positive charity culture.

The role is office-based, with days and hours to suit where possible, and scope for flexibility and some working from home.

• This role is based in our Norwich office. As a Training and Engagement Officer you will:
• Develop and coordinate a range of engagement and promotion activities aligned to the priorities of the local service

As a Support Advisor working full time or part time, you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the RISE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working part time or full time alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Gloucester, providing support to Bristol and North Wilts as required, the project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
• Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
• Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
• Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of theEmployment, Training and Education (ETE) sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of Employability skills and will demonstrate the ability to proactively engage with both local employers and local support networks/organisations to promote the skills of the individuals they are supporting.

West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) is partnering with the NHS on a pilot project to provide a range of support services for adult survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs

The Organisation

The Person

We are looking for a skilled trainer who has experience of working in the sexual violence sector or an aligned field and has knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact’ to join us in this critical work in preventing ongoing sexual harm. In return we can offer you specialist training, support, supervision and the opportunity of working as part of a talented team.

The Role

This exciting new role will be part of a multidisciplinary team that brings together a range of knowledge and skills to support adult survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs.

Summary of Position:

This role will be required to develop and deliver sexual violence practitioner training and support the delivery of groups for survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs.

Primary Responsibilities

- To research, develop and deliver a programme of sexual violence practitioner training for delivery in single and multiagency settings through a range of blended learning formats.
- To support the development and delivery of a programme of psychosocial education groups for survivors of sexual violence.
- To support the team is completing assessments for clients accessing the service.
- Collaborate with a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of survivors of sexual violence to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To promote awareness of training and group offerings for survivors with a range of multiagency partners
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of training products delivered.
- To manage booking process and associated administration for training delivery
- Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events

This role is based in Worcester. The role holder will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.

Hybrid and flexible working is available and encouraged as part of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia and dyscalculia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic and dyscalculic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

This is a key role within the organisation and will take on tutoring responsibilities for a caseload of students undertaking the BDA’s professional level 5/7 training. Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.

We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in Old Windsor. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

BACKGROUND

Sundial delivers high quality education and training on harmful practices, such as female genital mutilation (FGM), “honour”-based abuse (HBA) and harmful body alterations. We offer safeguarding training for teams of professionals such as teachers, police and social workers. We also deliver lessons in schools, as well as workshops for community groups. All of our training is delivered in pairs, with at least one facilitator being from a community affected by the harmful practice discussed in the session.

• Forced marriage
• Spiritual abuse
• Intersectionality and domestic abuse

Healthy relationships and body image, including:

• Body image and smart phones
• The influence of pornography on young people
• The female genitalia (including learning on FGM/C and female cosmetic genital surgeries)

Sundial Centre for Education on Harmful Practices work in locations across the Thames Valley, as well as Birmingham. Our Lead Trainer will need to travel to these locations and having a driving licence and car will be preferable, as there will be equipment and materials to carry.

Job Description

You will deliver workshops on harmful practices and abuse issues to a high professional standard, together with a co-facilitator, and carry out administrative tasks as required for the effective delivery of our education programme.

Person Specification

You will ideally be from a community affected by a harmful practice such as FGM/C or “honour”-based abuse and forced marriage. This does not necessarily mean you personally have been affected, but you have a deep understanding of the issues from living in your community.

Your knowledge of the topic: You will need a strong understanding of violence against women and girls (VAWG), ideally having experience working in the VAWG sector. You will have a strong understanding of some or all of the topics that we deliver, in order to deliver workshops with a high level of expertise and answer any questions during the session. A good understanding of safeguarding pathways would be desirable. Please note we are confident that someone with experience in the VAWG sector would be able to upskill themselves, with our help, if there is a topic they are not familiar with, e.g. spiritual abuse.

High level of organisation:

You will need to communicate with our Schools Coordinator to understand the details of the session, including who the session is for, any special requirements of the group and who you will be working with. You will need to link with your co-facilitator ahead of the session to have a planning meeting, including discussing the content of the session, who will deliver which parts, and any specific needs of the group. You will need to plan your own travel (reimbursed) - this can be anywhere in the Thames Valley, Birmingham or occasionally London. You may also need to link with your co-facilitator on their travel arrangements.

Administration skills:

Whilst the bookings will be made by our Schools Coordinator, you will still be expected to do some administration, such as completing records after the session.

Time management:

You will need to have excellent time management skills, including arriving at the venue in time to set up and deal with any last minute unforeseen issues which may arise (e.g. a school's firewall blocking our film materials). You will also need to deliver the content allowing enough time for each section of the training. This will require being able to effectively work with your co-facilitator. Each session should be well paced with time for questions at the end.

You as a facilitator:

It is important that you are a confident facilitator, including being comfortable to speak in front of a large group and able to project your voice. You will also need to be dynamic and engaging, facilitating activities / discussion and using high impact teaching methods to keep the group engaged. You will also need to be confident managing lots of questions or someone ‘over speaking’. You need to be thoughtful and sensitive to everyone in the room, including trying to ‘see’ everyone, and being encouraging and non-judgemental. You need to be comfortable working with adults, children and young people.

You as a leader:

You will need to be comfortable taking the lead alongside your co-facilitator. This will include directing them if there are particular sections for them to deliver, and being clear on timings. You will need to feel comfortable giving peer feedback, including on language used during the session and timings. You will need to be motivational and encouraging as a lead, keeping things positive whilst also professional.

You as a representative of Sundial:

You will need to maintain a high level of professionalism as a trainer, showing interest in the client (e.g. the school safeguarding lead who has booked the sessions) and helping to build the relationship between them and Sundial. For example, you may be asked to join the client for lunch and this can be a great opportunity to discuss the needs of the school and possibly suggest other training sessions. You will need to help the client feel confident that the session will run smoothly and that the content will be appropriate for the audience.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.

Supported by a public health development officer, train the trainer (1 based in England and 1 based in Scotland), who you’ll also line manage, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of the in-person programme, including marketing materials, resource packs and ongoing support for trainees. You’ll also identify opportunities, agree timescales and associated logistics for training delivery within the pilot areas.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in leading on the development and delivery of insightful and engaging workshops or public health focused projects, to a range of audiences from health or community-based organisations. The right candidate will have a good understanding of health inequalities, the challenges they present to health behaviours and outcomes, and be passionate about addressing these challenges. You’ll have strong communication and engagement skills and enjoy working independently and innovatively to develop successful partnerships with a range of organisations, communities and stakeholders.

We are looking for a Training/Workshops Manager with a deep understanding of how working with families and the principles of Positive Behaviour Support can transform the lives of people with learning disabilities whose behaviours challenge.

The Role

There are a bank of five workshops, each developed through co-production with families and co-delivered by a qualified practitioner and a family carer. • Ensure that all workshops and training sessions are co-designed, co-developed, and co-delivered by both qualified practitioners and family carers with lived experience, ensuring that the content is relevant, practical, and grounded in real-world experiences.
• Oversee the delivery of these workshops, ensuring they are of high quality, engaging, and accessible to diverse audiences.
• Promote and secure bookings for workshops, leading to income generation.

About You

You will be an experienced trainer, with the skills to manage and develop a programme of five workshops, co-delivered by a bank of trainers. You will have experience of co-production with families and the skills to establish and develop relationships with a range of external stakeholders and you will be comfortable with autonomy, with the initiative to drive forward the programme of workshops.

You will have:

• Knowledge/experience of issues affecting children and/or adults with learning disabilities and behaviour described as challenging
• Experience working in co-production
• Experience in workshop design
