Some of the things that we are looking for in our Finance Manager:

• Development and adaptation of standard accounting systems, processes and practices.
• Experience of providing financial management services to internal stakeholders including preparation and presentation of reports.
• Proven budget management experience with the ability to undertake financial analysis, forecasting and the preparation of year-end financial statements.
• Proven experience of preparing and monitoring business plans, including detailed cash flow/income/expenditure forecasts.

Some of the things you would be responsible for as a Finance Manager:

• Preparing regular management accounts and financial performance reports, including any additional analysis as required.
• Providing financial reports and support to colleagues at EG, including regular meetings, sharing of budgets, and financial performance against budget.
• Preparing financial and cash flow forecasts in conjunction with colleagues to inform EG strategy, discussing risks and implications with the CEO.
• Preparing the annual budget in conjunction with colleagues and present these with the CEO to the Finance Committee and Board for approval.
• Supporting the CEO in presenting the financial position to the Board of Trustees and other key stakeholders. 
• Preparing year-end accounts that meet statutory reporting obligations.
• Managing the external audit process and being the primary contact with external auditors to resolve their queries.
• Maintaining records of designated and restricted reserves and working with colleagues to ensure these funds are regularly reconciled and status of funds balances is reported to the relevant committees.

Complex Needs Practitioner (Recovery Worker)

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Salary: £27,341 – £29,500 per annum

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We are part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), a partnership between Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, and Build on Belief providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire.

The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. 

A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activities, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).

Skills and Qualifications

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

The Role:

The Activities Coordinator will help develop activities for members of the community accessing our Social Care and Open Access services. We would like to grow the range of social, creative and physical activity sessions delivered at the Centre, in our 3-acre park and in venues across the North East of the borough. 

This is a new post, which means you will have the opportunity to shape both the role and how we deliver this work for the community.
 
The key strands of the role are: 

Activity and timetable coordination: To coordinate and timetable the activities based on the needs of the community. This will involve supporting with the recruitment and onboarding of new coaches and facilitators.
 
Participant engagement and facilitation: To build relationships with people accessing activities, providing them opportunities to connect with one another, raise awareness of services and support available both at the Centre and locally and, provide a space for people to develop new ideas and co-produce activities.
 
Service development: The activities on offer will inevitably change over time to reflect the needs of the community. The role will work closely with the Centre’s delivery teams to ensure activities respond to the needs of, and feedback from, people accessing services. We will provide the opportunity for Open Access sessions (i.e. open to all) and more targeted sessions (i.e. for specific members of the community). Sessions will need to cover a wide range of activities and ability levels.

About You:

This role is for you if you are self-motivated and an experienced relationship fundraiser and driven to ensure that targets are hit and projects are delivered to the highest possible standards.

You will have demonstrable experience of managing 4 and 5-figure+ gifts from donors and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.

Essential role requirements include:

• Previous major donor fundraising experience
• Exceptional communication skills particularly in understanding and translating complex information and turning it into compelling written proposals
• Has a can-do attitude
• Demonstrates a commercial mindset

Role context:

Cord’s turnover is about £2m a year. About 85% of Cord’s funding is restricted, coming from institutional donors like the EU and the US government, and 15% (about £300K) is unrestricted coming from a committed UK supporter base and other private fundraising streams. 

In 2025, Cord operates in eight countries and has offices in Burundi, Myanmar, Laos, & Cambodia. Cord has a global team of thirty people with finance staff across five country teams. 

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.

In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system and developing financial policies and procedures. 

The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation
• To ensure the effective financial management of the organisation create and maintain effective financial control
• To be the Business Central Finance System Lead, developing functionality, troubleshooting and capacitating system users
• To ensure financial compliance: prepare statutory accounts, partner compliance, donor compliance and financial reporting

Context and purpose of role

The Out There Award (OTA) increases the skills, confidence and social connections of young adults (18-26 years) from diverse backgrounds to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Out There Award) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Out There Award programme across GB.
• Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.
• Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.
• Be responsible for managing a budget in line with programme goals and objectives.
• Be responsible for evaluation and reporting, to ensure the programme meets KPIs and delivers measurable impact.
• Manage new and existing strategic partnerships with outdoor organisations and those working with young people facing barriers to becoming active outdoors.
• Work with partners to recruit participants to the Out There Award, and to promote the programme more widely.
• Develop a network of delivery partners and instructors.
• Engage diverse audiences from young people facing additional barriers to getting outdoors, to senior stakeholders including government funders, and other strategic external partners.
• Directly deliver some OTA events to support the continued development and co-production of the programme.

• Ensure robust risk management systems are in place to ensure the safety of participants and instructors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Fundraising and Communications Executive is a new role and will play a pivotal part in advancing our communications and fundraising strategies. As OTR continues to grow, this position will be instrumental in expanding our online presence and ensuring we connect with a broad audience, including young people, families, professionals, and supporters of our mission. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who is both creative and analytical, skilled in producing compelling content and using data to amplify digital impact. This role would suit someone who can take initiative, think proactively, and confidently manage projects independently – qualities that are especially important in our small, dedicated team.

You’ll work on a wide range of projects, creating engaging content that aligns with OTR’s brand and values across our website, social media, and email campaigns. This includes developing multimedia content (including graphics, videos and blogs) to promote our work and highlight our impact in the local community.

From a fundraising perspective, you will help drive our fundraising activities and ensure efficient administration using the newly acquired ‘Donorfy’ database. This includes leading on the stewardship of donors and community fundraisers, managing our fundraising CRM database, and working on small and medium-sized trust and grant applications. You’ll also support digital campaigns and new initiatives, to encourage sustained support for our work. You’ll directly help to secure the financial support needed to expand OTR’s services and reach more beneficiaries. In addition, you’ll analyse the performance of our digital channels – interpreting website analytics, social media metrics, and email campaign results – to provide recommendations that enhance our communications strategies and ensure ongoing impact.

JOB PURPOSE

The Fundraising and Communications Executive will play a key role in implementing OTR’s fundraising and communications strategies. The role involves planning, creating, curating and managing high-quality digital content across our website, social media platforms and email marketing campaigns. Furthermore, you will support key areas of our fundraising strategy, including trust and grant applications, horizon scanning and ensuring excellent fundraising administration across all areas of activity.

This position is instrumental in supporting the Head of Fundraising in developing and strengthening OTR’s income streams and increasing awareness of OTR’s services through effective communications. 

Specific role duties

Supporting the fundraising strategy

• Lead on OTR’s donor and community fundraiser stewardship through excellent communication and effective relationship management.

• Lead on the implementation of fundraising communications across channels.

• Responsible for small to medium size trust and grant applications, including horizon scanning

• Support the stewardship of small and medium-sized trusts and foundations including scoping, applications, reporting and funder management.

• Create engaging content and campaigns to drive income generation.

• Help build the small pool of regular donors.

Website and CRM maintenance

• Work with OTR’s Head of Fundraising, the Administration Manager and web developer to maintain, update and enhance the OTR website.

• Monitor website performance, user engagement and SEO trends, suggesting and

implementing improvements to enhance user experience and visibility.

• Lead on ensuring our CRM (Donorfy) is utilised effectively to record, monitor and report on fundraising activity and income.

Social media

• Working with the Head of Fundraising, CEO and Volunteer Coordinator and Business Support Officer, contribute to OTR’s social media presence by creating and scheduling engaging, accessible, and informative content that resonates with our audience and supports OTR’s mission.

• Monitor social media platforms to ensure timely and appropriate responses to comments and messages.

• Identify new opportunities to grow OTR’s social media reach, building awareness of our services, fundraising and outreach work.

• Regularly report on social media performance, using insights to inform future content and strategy.

• Utilise paid ads to support fundraising and training.

Email marketing

• Support the planning, creation, and delivery of OTR’s, soon to be launched, email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, fundraising initiatives and service information and signposting.

• Ensure all email communications are engaging, well-structured, and in line with OTR’s brand and tone of voice.

• Assist in the promotion of key OTR events, such as the Big Charity Bash and annual Great South Run and other special events.

• Manage and grow OTR’s email marketing lists, ensuring they are up to date and GDPR compliant.

• Track and analyse the performance of email campaigns, providing reports and insights to the Head of Fundraising.

Content creation

• Create engaging, accessible, and informative content for OTR’s digital channels, including the website, social media and email marketing.

• Develop multimedia content (for example, videos and graphics) to enhance OTR’s

communication methods and increase engagement.

• Contribute to blogs, news articles and case studies that highlight OTR’s work, impact and achievements in the sector.

Brand and tone of voice

• Ensure that all digital content aligns with OTR’s brand, tone of voice and style,

maintaining a cohesive and recognisable identity across all platforms.

• Promote OTR as the leading place to turn to for support, ensuring that our content

reflects our professionalism, reputation and expertise.

Analytics and reporting

• Use analytics tools to track the performance of OTR’s digital communications, including website traffic, email engagement and social media reach.

• Provide regular reports on digital performance to the Head of Fundraising, including insights and recommendations for improvement.

The Role

Are you a people person with a passion for making a difference to people while saving food from going to waste? We’re looking for an excellent communicator with top class organisation skills and experience of delivering outstanding customer service to join our Community Development team. This role works closely with community groups and charities providing vital food support across the Midlands and will be an essential team member assisting with a wide-range of tasks to help retain, grow, and support our member-base. It involves planning workstreams, taking ownership of key tasks, and collaborating across the organisation raise awareness of our programmes and ensure onboarding new memberships and internal projects run smoothly.

The position is based in the West Midlands, requiring 2–3 days per week at the Birmingham office, with occasional visits to community projects.

• Support and enable Community Development Officers and Community Development Manager to grow FSM membership, income and recognition across the Midlands through provision of direct support, knowledge and supporting resources and tools.
• Undertake a wide range of team tasks to ensure retention, growth and support for our member-base, including dealing with membership enquiries, ensuring membership data is updated and current on relevant systems, undertake research tasks and member visits.
