RLSS UK has a proud history of helping to reduce the number of lives lost to drowning through the commitment of and the fantastic work undertaken by their volunteers, staff, trustees, and members who advocate for and promote water safety in the communities they serve. The charity utilises their extensive, world-leading knowledge of water safety and training in developing a comprehensive range of vocational qualifications and a series of awards and education programmes, which all have the ultimate aim of preventing drowning and stopping unnecessary loss of life. Their portfolio includes the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) - the premier lifeguard training programme.
A Director of Finance and Operations is sought to lead on all financial aspects of the charity and two wholly owned companies, with additional responsibility and accountability for the leadership of the IT and Business Systems, HR and Compliance teams (4 direct reports). The director serves as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing strong and inspirational leadership to RLSS UK.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA), with significant post-qualification experience, including at Finance Director level.
- Experience in preparing and presenting commercial reviews/business cases/proposals at Board level.
- Excellent knowledge of financial risk monitoring and management processes and mitigation strategies.
- Experience in negotiating, developing and managing commercial partnership agreements and monitoring the performance of major commercial suppliers and partners.

The Direct Marketing Manager has operational and strategic responsibility in developing and implementing the Islamic Relief UK direct marketing programme. This includes the following key direct marketing channels: Email, SMS, Direct Mail, OOH and DRTV. An exciting opportunity is available for a dynamic individual with a passion for providing excellent customer service and event management. The Education Directorate with our client is looking for an operations and service-delivery lead with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple complex workstreams, to join them in the Business development and education support team.
The Education directorate delivers a wide range of educational programmes for doctors of all grades. The portfolio includes one- and two-day workshops, their accredited programmes, commissioned programmes, online courses, podcasts, and Masters programmes in partnership with university partners.
They have wide portfolio including topics such as teaching, learning, assessment, feedback, supervision and communication skills. The directorate has a team of educationalists who design and deliver these programmes and a team of education coordinators and librarians who provide management and all aspects of learner support.
About the role
You will work closely with internal colleagues such as educationalists, project managers and administrators, as well as colleagues in finance, IT, HR, and communications. You will lead and manage a team, and you’ll be required to work collaboratively with a broader team of volunteer clinical faculty who help us develop and deliver our programmes.
You’ll work closely with the Head of relationships and engagement and the Projects and credentials lead, to ensure that the team support all areas of the business, including event management, projects, marketing and quality assurance.
You will make an impact every day by:
- Leading a busy and fast-paced team who deliver education coordination and library services for the directorate, role modelling positive attitude and collaborative working

As Fundraiser, you will raise philanthropic income at multiple levels from a variety of income streams including local businesses, individuals, trusts and foundations to support both schools’ fundraising priorities including repayment of the school’s deficit budgets. Offering a high level of support, guidance, stewardship to supporters whilst implementing the operational delivery of all departmental transactional requirements related to the delivery of their fundraising and retail activities.
This is a pivotal role in ensuring supporter care and administrative excellence is achieved and maintained in an accurate and timely manner and that all queries are responded to quickly and consistently. Working collaboratively with colleagues from various departments including the finance team the Supporter Experience Assistant will undertake a team proactive approach to all aspects of delivery and immediately identify any potential risks and issues which will jeopardise supporter care and administrative excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a main point of contact in relation to supporter queries and administration tasks, reacting to all incoming queries in a positive and proactive manner.
- Assess supporter needs and offer help and support to minimising the need for multiple point of contact.
- Accurate and timely recording of donations and donor details on their supporter database.
- Be proactive in offering alternative ways to support the charity.
- Providing advice and support to member of the public trying to support the Hospice including problem solving with digital platforms, booking events, processing donations, booking collections/deliveries etc.
- Be proactive in growing supporter engagement, income generation and ensuring add on fundraising methods are captured i.e. gift aid, consents etc.
- Ensure regular provision of accurate income generation records in a timely manner on areas including but not limited to: Stock, Shops, Community, Corporate, Trusts & Foundations, Events, Individual Giving and Lottery.
- Effectively manage all data inputting, administrative and supporter care tasks within the department including maintaining accurate records of donor details and donations made, both digitally and paper based to ensure consistency and accuracy in a timely manner.
- Promote the services of the department at all appropriate opportunity.
- Assist with the management of all databases/CRM systems to enable accurate reporting measures to be undertaken.
- Maintain files and documents, archiving duplication and unnecessary files, where appropriate.
- Undertake regular file audits.
- Respond to all administrative queries and requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with the management of the department email inbox responding to contact requests and distributing the workload to relevant team members.
- Undertake any additional activities elsewhere in the charity as required and within your capability.
- Report any concerns or possible improvements to the relevant Head of Department.
- Support and attend the Hospice events and appeals.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment
- Previous experience in fundraising
- IT literate
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors through written and verbal communication
- Experience working with CRM systems.

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the successful and established Criminal Justice Team for Devon as part of Together Drug and Alcohol Service. You will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of all aspects of the criminal justice service, providing line management, case load over site, KPI monitoring and be an integral connection and support to the partner agencies we work so closely with.
The successful applicant will be a flexible and dedicated manager to all hubs across Devon, Newton Abbot, Exeter and Barnstaple (working remotely where possible).
