The Project Management Unit (PMU) at IDS, brings together professionals in project management, research administration and finance, to collaborate on development of proposals, project plans, strategies and budgets. The PMU now have an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to begin their career journey in project administration and support.
The Project Assistant role will sit within the PMU and work within a helpdesk function, providing administrative support to both projects and research clusters. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, comfortable managing multiple tasks and open to acquiring news skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities.
General administration
•Supporting the daily operations of the PMU including maintaining online filing systems, diaries, mailing lists and contacts database, taking telephone messages and arranging appointments.
•Cluster administration, including booking cluster meetings, arranging cluster retreats, and taking minutes of meetings
•Assisting PMU colleagues and the Heads of PM with general administrative duties
•Providing general administrative duties including word processing, and collating and preparing documents in accordance to IDS house style guidelines
•Working with colleagues to respond to general information requests and to disseminate information through e-mail, mail, publications and web pages.
•Providing general administration support for proposal development where requested
•Making travel arrangements, hotel bookings, enquiring about visas etc.
•Participating in PMU meetings and supporting the organisation of workshops and seminars and other team events, in close liaison with PMU colleagues.
•Supporting the Project Support Officer with updating cluster internet and intranet web content as required, and responding to internal and external requests.
•Processing invoices and expense claims
•Dealing with correspondence and ensuring regular liaison with other team members and external contacts, for example inviting people to events and keeping them up to date with event logistics.
•Providing assistance to visitors and staff.

As a RASM you will be assisting the shop manager to run the shop and covering their days off and holidays.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.
About the role
The Philanthropy Administrator sits within the Philanthropy Team, who work with supporters who are giving anything from £5,000 upwards to Crisis. They can be individuals or couples and often support many different areas of our work, both financially and non-financially. As a team we are a friendly, innovative, creative, collaborative team and, whilst we have an ambitious income target this year, we are bold in our ambitions for growth. We are always up for trying new things, taking a few risks and learning from when things fail. Our ultimate goal is to enable our donors support to be as impactful as possible and inspire their loyalty and longevity of support.
The Philanthropy Administrator role is very varied, and there will be opportunities to get involved in lots of areas of the team's work. Whilst the role is predominantly focussed on providing administrative support to the team, mainly around monitoring donations and managing external inboxes and communicating with supporters through this. The successful candidate will also manage our prospect pipeline, lead on the creation of our monthly donor newsletter, support in the planning of high value events, appeals and donor meetings, develop the Philanthropy webpage and much much more.

Has great verbal and written communications skills, loves creative writing and has an ability to tailor communications to different audiences

Enjoys interacting with lots of different kinds of people, has great initiative, a critical eye, and keen attention to detail

Has good numeracy skills, an understanding of finance processes, experience using Microsoft packages, Customer Relationship Management databases (CRM’S) and ability to learn new software

Has experience of supporting a busy team who are managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines.

The Operations Volunteering Experience Coordinator helps people with sight loss live the life they choose by ensuring volunteers in Operations-based roles are set up for success by preparing and training them for their role. Once in their role, they will support a positive volunteering experience by working to retain, further utilize and develop our volunteers in their role and wider into the Guide Dog family and community. Without our volunteers, none of our services would be possible.
We currently have 2 roles available one would work across the two teams in Sheffield & Notthingham; and the other to work across the two teams in Atherton & Liverpool. A typical fortnight would include days working from the office, days in the community, and some home working. The role holder will manage the time and location of their working days.
For this role, you’ll work 35 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Please be aware that this role may include some travel covering your region and work outside of your usual 9-5 working hours.

• Experienced with CRM database use, including navigation, inputting, report building, and analytics.

• Demonstrable and up-to-date knowledge of good practice in equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Demonstrable and up-to-date knowledge of GDPR and use of Customer Relationship Management systems.
