We’re seeking a Communications Officer (Brand and Content) to join our fantastic Brand and Content team within the award-winning Engagement, Marketing and Communications department.

You’ll have an opportunity to play an active supporting role in the core team leading on the implementation and growth of our bold and impactful brand, launched less than two years ago. 

You’ll also support the team with day-to-day brand management to ensure consistency of messaging and visual representation across all our content and the production of creative multi-purpose and multi-channel, audience-led content. In addition, you will support the project management, delivery, and evaluation of organisation-wide activity for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (PCAM). 

About You 

You’ll be adept at drawing on your broad communications knowledge and skills to support the charity in reaching and engaging more people. From demonstrating your ability to managing content production processes through to writing creative copy to bring stories to life through powerful content.

You’ll have a keen eye on brand consistency and attention to detail. As well as effective project management relationship/stakeholder management and organisational skills, with the ability to work across multiple tasks, campaigns and activities in busy periods.

About us

Join our team at the MPS Society, one of the leading rare genetic disease charities in the UK aiming to transform the lives of individuals and their families affected by MPS, Fabry and other related lysosomal diseases.  This is a rare opportunity to join our Support & Communities teams who provide direct support, practical guidance and other patient focused activities to over 1500 members and their families, UK-wide. 

Our Support Team raise awareness both within the MPS community and external agencies, offering information, advice, support, and advocacy in a range of areas including clinical management, health and social care, housing, education, transition, independent living, palliative care, and bereavement.  

Ideal candidate

As a Senior Support Officer, you will primarily be responsible for raising awareness and providing a high-quality support and advocacy service to our members and their families.   You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support.  You will have experience in multi-agency working and an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers.  Demonstrable experience and knowledge of health and social care, education and relevant assessment processes are essential. 

As deputy safeguarding lead officer for both shildren and vulnerable adults you will take the lead in the absence of the safeguarding leads and be confident sharing your knowledge with new recruits through mentoring.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to uphold best practice, challenge poor policy and inappropriate decisions.  Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As part of a small, dedicated team, you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with your colleagues and external parties to raise awareness, advocate for our membership, as well as supporting the delivery and development of services for the MPS Society community.

Whilst a relevant qualification within health & social care, education or a related field is desirable, other knowledge and work experiences may be equally as valuable in this role. Prior knowledge of MPS and related conditions is not required however a special interest in neurology and working with individuals with neurological disabilities is advantageous.  In-depth support and training to develop expertise in MPS and related conditions, and the needs of those affected by these progressive, life-limiting conditions will be provided.

This is a full-time role (35 hrs per week) however part time hours, with a minimum of 28 hrs per week may be agreed for the right candidate.  Salary will be pro-rata for part-time.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. As part of the role, UK wide travel is necessary. This may on occasion include early morning and/or evening working and sometimes overnight stays.  You may also occasionally be required to attend evening or weekend conferences and events. Stop Domestic Abuse is a proud women-led organisation supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse across Portsmouth and Hampshire. Our vision is a world without domestic abuse, and we work to ensure that it’s ‘everyone’s business.’

We provide refuge and community-based support, delivering in a trauma-informed way for adults, children and young people, tailored to individual needs. Our 19 refuges offer safe, welcoming homes, and across our services we provide one-to-one support and group activities to help improve their safety and to meet others with similar experiences. Our UP2U programmes support those seeking to change abusive behaviours, and we also offer specialist support for victims of stalking. We also deliver training to professionals, including the hair and beauty industry, to recognise domestic abuse and connect people to specialist support services.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Borde Hill team to work on the Reinventing Borde Hill project. This role will be responsible for managing the Community Growing Garden at Sugworth Farm, part of our new 2-acre biodynamic market garden which produces seasonal fruit and vegetables to supply the new restaurant, café and farm shop at Borde Hill.

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project includes an Activity Plan including a range of learning, community and volunteering activities, and this new role will have responsibility for overseeing community engagement both at the Community Growing Garden, and across the Parkland and main Garden.

Your role will focus on two key areas: overseeing the seasonal growing at the Community Growing Garden with volunteers and community partners, and developing and delivering an annual site-wide community engagement programme.

You will work closely with the NLHF Project Team, as well as the Green team. You will lead on liaising with local schools, community groups and charities, encouraging and facilitating participation in the Community Growing and wider site community programmes. Your passion for learning, community engagement, horticulture and nature will be key in ensuring this programme succeeds in delivering the ambitions set out in the Activity Plan.

Although funded via the Lottery project, this role is permanent as we are committed to continuing it after the funded project; we intend to continue the wide range of the activities that your role will nurture and develop.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed: (Please provide evidence in your Covering Letter and CV) Tasks and responsibilities

• Build a seasonal programme of community engagement and growing in the Community Growing Garden and at the main site, building on and developing the programme set out in the Activity Plan
• Deliver new community programmes and connect with participants. To include:
  o Facilitated sessions
  o Supported visits to the site
  o Drop-in activities and events
• Work with community partners to develop and deliver a community volunteer programme, ensuring access for people who will benefit from the opportunity
• Identify and build partnerships with relevant and diverse community groups, organisations and individuals, taking responsibility for the community engagement elements of the Reinventing Borde Hill project more widely
• Work with the Borde Hill Green Team, especially the Market Garden Growing Team, to ensure that the Community Growing Garden is aligned with their work, and supports the biodynamic certification aims of the Farm
• Identify routes for participant and volunteer progression and sustain communication
• Ensure equality of opportunity, access and inclusion for all participants and volunteers
• Work with freelance delivery partners and local community groups to deliver community activities
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the programmes, maintaining accurate monitoring data and adjusting programmes in response to feedback
• With audience needs in mind, review similar offers across the sector, especially in other local horticulture/nature organisations, to ensure our programmes are distinctive, attractive, appropriate and innovative
• Support and attend events delivered by other members of the team when required (e.g. large public events) and lead smaller community events
• Record and monitor the income and costs of the programmes, to meet budget goals
• Comply with the Safeguarding policy and all other policies relevant to programme delivery
• Ensure effective systems for resources and documentation are maintained in line with GDPR legislation and organisation policy

Skills and experience To be considered for this position, you should be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills:

• Experience of working with a diverse range of community partners, and a commitment to and experience of delivering community engagement activities including learning engagement and activities
• Experience of managing and recruiting a diverse cohort of volunteers
• Ability to lead community group activities and co-ordinate a programme of community group activity across the season
• An understanding of seed sowing, crop rotations, pest and disease management, plant husbandry techniques needed in a productive market garden, and/or a willingness to learn about Biodynamic principles and practices
• A passion for growing and experience of growing fruits, vegetables, salad crops and ideally cut flowers in a recognised establishment
• An understanding of growing crops undercover and knowledge of cultivation under polytunnels
• Appreciation of nature and natural heritage, and its potential to contribute to wellbeing, creativity and learning among families and communities.
• Proven commitment to and understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Good organisational skills.

We’d also be interested to know if you have experience in any of the following areas (it isn’t essential to have experience of them all):

• Experience of partnership working, especially with marginalised and/or disadvantaged communities
• An innovative approach to planning and delivering family learning

• Experience facilitating engagement with gardens / public spaces for the community

You will lead, with support, on the development and delivery of an exciting new Women at Risk (WaR) project seeking to support women at risk of rough sleeping, homelessness and exploitation. Working across key areas of Enfield and Haringey you will, through a combination of nighttime outreach and daytime service development, support a coordinated response across multiple agencies already engaged in this work.

You will coordinate and lead a minimum twice weekly nighttime outreach, support additional services and existing outreach provision and develop a daytime offer that meets the needs of women engaged through outreach and identified as at high risk of harm and homelessness.   

You will have management responsibility of a small staff team, take overall lead on case management, coordinate outreach and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support women to access and engage with a range of services to meet their needs through effective and professional communication.

We’re looking for an Operations Officer to play a central role in keeping our organisation running safely, smoothly and effectively across our central office, refuges and dispersed accommodation.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining operations, facilities management, reception, health & safety, admin coordination and service-user access support. You’ll help ensure our buildings, systems and processes enable high-quality, trauma-informed services for Black and minoritised (Global Majority) women and children.

You’ll be a key first point of contact for the organisation — welcoming, calm and professional — while helping to maintain safe, well-managed environments and strong operational systems.

You’ll:

• Support the day-to-day operation of the central office, refuges and dispersed accommodation

• Coordinate facilities, repairs, access and health & safety requirements

• Act as a first point of contact for enquiries, referrals and visitors

• Support safe service-user access and reception processes

• Provide administrative and operational support across teams

We are recruiting an experienced and ambitious Public Fundraising Manager who will share our compassion and commitment to animal welfare, to lead on the delivery of our public fundraising programme This role manages activity across individual giving, community & events, legacies and in memory, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals and delivers long-term, sustainable income from these income streams.

Our Public Fundraising Manager is integral to our ambition to broaden our reach and deepen our impact by shaping our mass fundraising activities and working on integrated campaigns with the Fundraising Team, wider colleagues and external suppliers. This is a highly visible and important role for Mayhew and will work across departments to strengthen our case for support and employ it across a range of mass fundraising products, retention and acquisition channels, as well as delivering excellent stewardship and supporter experience.

As a senior member of the Fundraising Team, this role spans strategic planning and operational delivery and the successful candidate will be able to pivot from working closely with the Head of Fundraising to identify new growth opportunities, to project managing a direct mail appeal, to supporting their line reports to optimise their own day-to-day work and processes.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and resourceful fundraising manager with a keen eye for detail and proven experience of meeting or exceeding income targets. We are looking for someone with a focus on individual giving and experience in at least one of community & events or legacies, with a keen ability to use data to deliver insight-led activity and supporter journeys. We are looking for someone who shares our ambitions to grow our income significantly over the coming years, and face into challenges and opportunities along the way, and who will inspire trust and enthusiasm in their team and across the organisation.

Generally, you will:

• Provide leadership and support to the Head of Fundraising as part of the fundraising team
• Deliver against income targets (£2.7m in 2026) and maximise the unrestricted impact of cash and regular giving income
• Develop and implement effective onward fundraising donor journeys, including legacy marketing
• Proactively improve supporter care processes, operations and relationships
• Lead innovation in our public fundraising approach in a test and learn culture
• Collaborate proactively across the organisation to find, develop and share stories that will inspire support
• Be a positive, empathetic people manager, inspiring your team and leading by example.

To be successful in this role, you need relevant experience in:

• A fundraising role in a charity of comparable breadth and scope with proven success in growing income, with experience in individual giving and one of community & events or legacies
• Being a great project manager and successfully managing multiple, often competing projects through to delivery
• Budget development and management, including regular forecasting
• Identifying and successfully implementing proactive initiatives to grow and diversify income
• Reporting and monitoring success so as to adapt and refine fundraising projects and products
• Successfully motivating, managing, and developing a team, whether through line management or project/stakeholder management

Hosted within the Starting Point team, this role focuses on supporting individuals who are experiencing or have experienced homelessness and are ready to take steps toward a more secure and connected future.

This is a varied, hands-on, and deeply rewarding role for someone who is self-motivated, compassionate, and passionate about making real change in people’s lives.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about working in the homelessness sector and committed to helping people overcome complex life challenges. You will support a group of individuals facing multiple disadvantages including homelessness, substance misuse, mental and physical health issues, trauma, and possible involvement with the criminal justice system.

You’ll work closely with the Lived Experience Team, under the guidance of the Team Leader, and offer engaging activities designed to build confidence, skills, and lasting connections.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide consistent, sustained support to help individuals engage with relevant services.

· Develop and update support plans that track progress, activities, and outcomes.

· Organise and deliver meaningful, fun, and skills-based group activities (e.g. cooking, art, music, fitness, photography).

· Signpost to external support groups and services, such as Andy’s Man Club, where appropriate.

· Foster partnerships with voluntary and statutory services to ensure cohesive support.

· Regularly identify and address barriers to progress, working collaboratively with each individual.

· Work confidently and professionally with individuals in crisis, managing risk and seeking appropriate support when                needed.

· Collaborate within the Lived Experience Team to share responsibilities and support team goals.

· Build relationships with faith groups, including Doncaster Minster (if possible), to secure space or volunteers for client-          focused activities.

Wider Community Impact

A key element of this role involves working alongside the faith sector to bridge the gap in understanding around homelessness, addiction, and mental health. Through these partnerships, we aim to build inclusive, compassionate spaces within Doncaster’s communities where individuals feel welcome, safe, and supported.

By creating a network of faith-based and community organisations willing to host or support activities, we will give clients more opportunities to integrate into the wider community and build a lasting sense of belonging.

About the Role & Organisation

This role is employed by Church Urban Fund (CUF) and will be managed remotely. While you will be based with the Starting Point  team in Doncaster City Centre, your work will also take place in the community and, occasionally, from home. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Your Park Bristol & Bath is an independent charity working across health, access and nature. We use parks to improve wellbeing, tackle inequality in access to green space and support nature recovery.

We are looking for a practical, people focused Nature & Community Officer to lead inclusive nature activity in Bath. This role combines green social prescribing, volunteer engagement and community partnership building. You will feel at home outdoors in all seasons and equally comfortable building relationships with community groups and corporate partners.

The role

You will enable welcoming, inclusive and nature focused activity across Bath’s parks.

You will:

• Co facilitate one weekly Roots to Wellbeing session as part of our structured 18 week programme

• Plan and co deliver one weekly Bee Active session

• Lead inclusive volunteer and nature connection opportunities

• Build strong local partnerships to grow participation

• Support engagement from communities underrepresented in parks

This is a hands on delivery role. You will prepare and deliver practical nature based activities, support participant wellbeing and confidence, carry out risk assessments and ensure safe working practice at all times.

You will also collect evidence of impact including participant feedback, photos and evaluation data, and contribute to reporting across the wider charity.

Occasional evening or weekend work will help make sessions accessible to more people.

What we are looking for

Essential experience and skills

• At least two years experience in community engagement, event coordination or outdoor delivery

• Experience running outdoor nature based activities

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Confidence managing relationships with partners and volunteers

• Knowledge of health and safety in outdoor settings

• Good IT and administrative skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities

• Full UK driving licence or access to a vehicle

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather

Desirable

• Experience in corporate volunteering or social enterprise

• Experience supporting people with mental health challenges

• Qualification or equivalent experience in ecology, horticulture or habitat management
