Hours: Full time 37hrs and part time post 22.5hrs p/w over 3 days ) flexible working available

Contract: 2 post available - 1 x FTE (job share may be considered) & 1 x Part Time

Salary: £27,619 per annum pro rata for part-time

The Role

Social prescribing link workers will work as a key part of the primary care network (PCN) multi-disciplinary team. Social prescribing can help PCNs to strengthen community and personal resilience and reduces health and wellbeing inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities. It particularly works for people with long term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with direct supervision from the Programme Lead/Senior Link Worker and input from the PCN’s Clinical Lead GP, take referrals from staff in GP practices within the local PCN.
• Provide personalised support to individuals, their families and carers to take control of their health and wellbeing, live independently and improve their health outcomes, as a key member of the PCN multi-disciplinary team.
• Developing trusting relationships and taking a holistic approach, based on the person’s priorities and co-produce a simple personalised care and support plan to improve health and wellbeing, introducing or reconnecting people to community groups and statutory services.
• Work collaboratively with all local partners to contribute towards supporting local community groups and organisations, making themselves aware of local resources and “assets” through mapping and then building a relationship with these organisations.  Also sharing intelligence regarding any gaps or problems identified in local provision with commissioners and local authorities. 
• Social prescribing link workers will work collaboratively with GP’s and have a role in promoting social prescribing and educating non-clinical and clinical staff within their PCN multi-disciplinary teams on the benefits of social prescribing
• Raise awareness of other services available within the community and how and when patients can access them. Linking into the work of Neighbourhood Network Schemes, locality Adult Social Care & Community Mental Health Teams.

About You

As a Social Prescribing Link Worker, you will have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Health & Social Care, Health Trainer, Health Improvement, Community Family Worker, Psychology) or be working towards/willing to work towards.

You will have:

• Demonstrable commitment to professional and personal development
• Experience of working directly in a community based context (including unpaid work)
• Experience of supporting people with a mental health need and or complexities/vulnerabilities
• Experience of delivering one to one support
• Experience of partnership/collaborative working and of building relationships across a variety of organisations
• Knowledge of VCSE and community services in the locality
• Understanding of the wider determinants of health, including social, economic and environmental factors and their impact on communities, individuals, their families and carers
• Understanding of the barriers faced by those living in isolation
• Knowledge of IT systems including ability to use word processing skills, emails, the internet and able to create simple plans and reports
• Ability to complete paperwork, keep records and carry out own administration

Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.

You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.

You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel to GP practices and for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic abuse and sexual violence advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate. 
• Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice. 
• Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
• To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients.
• To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around Domestic Abuse (DA) and Sexual Violence (SV) to practice teams. 
• To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer. 
• To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians. 
• To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes. 
• Provide in-house training and refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to DA and SV. 
• Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
• Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users. 
• Deliver DA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
• Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team. 
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

We are looking for War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (WP&C) Adviser.

This is a crucial, high-impact specialist role. You will be the dedicated advocate and expert for members of the Armed Forces community, providing end-to-end support through the complex process of securing compensation and pensions they are rightly entitled to.

You will manage a dedicated caseload, taking full accountability for guiding beneficiaries through claims, reviews, reconsiderations, and appeals under both the Service Pensions Order and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS). The Soldiers' and Aviators' Scripture Readers Association (known as SASRA) is one of the longest-established Christian charities supporting the British Armed Forces. Under Royal patronage and working with over 70,000 soldiers, 30,000 RAF personnel and some 10,000 supporters of various types, we look to introduce members of the British Armed Forces to a practical experience of the Christian faith. 

We are now looking for home-based Regional Managers to help us engage with the Christian public across the UK.

The main function of Regional Managers is to bring before the Christian public the work we do taking the gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing a practical experience of the Christian faith to the young people of the British Army and Royal Air Force.

The Regional Manager will present in churches, manage a team of volunteers, establish and maintain strategic partnerships across their region, lead regional projects and events, and produce and curate a wide variety of content.

ROLE SUMMARY

This role will be pivotal in devising, executing, and evaluating impactful marketing and communication strategies that resonate with key audiences and advance upReach's mission of transforming social mobility in the UK. The successful candidate will split their time between PR and external affairs (50%) and marketing campaign development and delivery (50%), with flexibility to adjust based on organisational priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, and closely collaborating with the Junior Marketing and Communications Manager on specific projects, focussed on increasing press coverage, creating compelling marketing materials, and delivering impactful campaigns. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure all communications align with upReach’s brand, with the ultimate aim of championing upReach's mission to transform social mobility in the UK. You will also support upReach in fulfilling our 2024-27 strategic objectives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

PR, External Affairs & Policy:

• PR Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of a PR strategy to raise awareness of upReach and the cause of social mobility, secure new partners/funders, and attract student applicants. 

• Media Content: Create press releases, opinion pieces, blogs and research that reflect the charity’s policy positions on key social mobility issues, and keep upReach website up to date with the latest coverage and articles. 

• Impact Monitoring: Track and quality score incoming press coverage to analyse performance and adjust strategies based on incoming insights, pro-actively securing additional backlinks.

• External Stakeholder Management: Help respond to incoming media inquiries, ensuring timely responses and distribution of materials. Cultivate relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, other social mobility organisations, and other key stakeholders to expand upReach’s visibility, updating the CRM and journalist database accordingly.

• Media, Policy and Research Monitoring: Track and respond to relevant social mobility and education-related policy changes in the UK, ensuring upReach has an active voice in these discussions where appropriate and disseminating key updates to the wider team. 

• Award Submissions: Support the identification and submission of high-quality award entries to build upReach’s profile across key target sectors.

• Crisis Communications: Support in the preparation of responses to any external inquiries or crises, ensuring upReach’s reputation is protected.

• Patron and Ambassador Research: Assist in the research of potential high-profile ambassadors for upReach, ensuring they align with our mission and values.

Marketing Campaigns:

• Student Attraction: Support the delivery of upReach’s student attraction strategy to raise awareness of upReach amongst eligible undergraduate students.

• Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive engagement with beneficiaries, partners, donors, and funders.

• Content Creation: Work closely with the marketing team to produce compelling digital and print content, including case studies, social media posts/templates, blogs, email campaigns, videos and more.

• Brand Consistency: Assist in reviewing external-facing materials to ensure they align with upReach’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and key messages. Act in a consulting role to support the successful delivery of Associate-focussed communications. 

• Marketing Asset Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of marketing materials, ensuring resources remain up-to-date and relevant, while monitoring distribution amongst the team.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in reporting on the success of campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.

• Collaborative Marketing: Collaborate with other charities, higher education institutions, and student societies, to develop co-marketing opportunities that expand programme reach among target student audiences.

Other responsibilities:

• Manage the External Affairs rotation to help one member of the Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP), upReach’s internal graduate scheme, to learn more about this area of the charity.

• Continue to develop skills, knowledge and best practice that will enable you to excel in the role, including training on pitching to the media, crafting compelling content and building press relationships.

• Undertake other marketing, communications or administrative tasks that are required within this role.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is passionate about social mobility and believe that background should not be a barrier to graduate employment. 

To be successful, you would ideally have experience in marketing and communications, particularly in executing PR and policy strategies, facilitating media relations and/or running successful communications campaigns. While not required, experience within a charity, social impact or education-focused organisation would also be highly beneficial for this role.

Required skills:

• Written Communication: Ability to write in a clear and persuasive way that breaks down complex issues into digestible content (e.g. press releases, social media posts and newsletters). Excellent verbal communication for networking, media relations, and public speaking.

• Creativity and Storytelling: Strong creative flair to develop engaging content and narrative that resonate with different audiences across digital and traditional platforms.

• Media Knowledge: Good understanding of the media landscape, with experience in managing media contacts, securing coverage, and building relationships with the press.

• Attention-to-Detail: Strong eye for detail, including excellent proofreading and editing skills, to ensure high-quality, error-free content.

• Brand Awareness: Understanding of how to promote and protect upReach’s brand reputation and the importance of maintaining brand-compliant messaging across all platforms.

COMPETENCIES

We will be looking for you to demonstrate that you can plan ahead, proactively anticipate upcoming projects or risks, and problem solve independently.

About the role

In this rewarding role, you’ll work one-to-one with people experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. As a Wellbeing Assessor, you will undertake assessments of patients to understand their individual needs and identify the most appropriate support for them, working collaboratively with other partners in the Primary Care Mental Health Service and associated organisations.

At Rights & Security International, we are seeking a part-time Racial Justice Officer to support the growth of our racial justice work in the UK. We are a London-based international human rights organisation that works to end racism, Islamophobia and other abuses when governments act in the name of ‘security’ or ‘counter-terrorism’.

For the past decade, we have been investigating the UK’s ‘Prevent’ counter-extremism programme, including how it impacts minoritised children in schools, British Muslims and neurodivergent people.

We are looking for someone with a broad skill set ranging from research and analysis to outreach and networking. You will help us build or join advocacy networks among national and local UK groups, support our litigation and freedom-of-information requests on Prevent, and investigate possible harms.
