Are you an experienced project manager who is passionate about climate action? 

At Community First Yorkshire, we will be delivering a three-year National Lottery funded partnership programme designed to inspire and empower communities and the VCSE sector to take meaningful climate action. We need someone to lead on this exciting, collaborative initiative, shaping a greener, more sustainable future for North Yorkshire.

What you’ll be doing 

In this role, you’ll be leading of team of four, including two Climate Action Officers, an Impact Communications Officer and a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. You’ll use your project management skills to co-ordinate and implement the Village Green programme, overseeing the delivery of activities, finances, marketing material and monitoring and evaluation work. You will work closely with our programme partners to maintain strong governance and build connections with our wider stakeholders to amplify the impact of climate action efforts.
Part of your role will be overseeing the co-design elements of the programme, ensuring community engagement is inclusive, impactful and innovative. You’ll also support with the wider VCSE sector in North Yorkshire, offering guidance on climate action initiatives and commissioning external expertise to deliver key elements of the programme.

The Grants Officer will support the Senior Manager to develop and implement monitoring and reporting
processes across the Foundation’s grant-giving activities. To be successful in the role, you must have
excellent knowledge of results-based monitoring and reporting, demonstrate strong organisational and
administrative skills, and ideally have experience working with colleagues from different cultural
backgrounds.

The initial focus of the role will be monitoring and reporting in relation to the implementation of a Big 6
EU funded programme, the Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF). This programme focuses on supporting
youth-led initiatives, giving young people the means to be effective agents of change. The YEF is global
in its reach but will focus on supporting local solutions and grassroots initiatives that young people
develop on the ground. The Officer will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager to maintain and
grow Big 6 advocacy and partnerships for the short and long-term. This role will also work closely with
colleagues from the Operations and Finance team to ensure accurate information is delivered to key
stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

Youth Empowerment Fund (60%):

• Support the monitoring and reporting of the EU funded YEF programme. Including coordinationwithin the IAF and with the Big 6 designated leads.
• Communicating with and activating networks of national organizations to participate in the YEF,including sharing opportunities to take part in Big 6 advocacy activities and applying for youthled solutions open-call Local Solutions grants.
• Issuing of grants to successful national organizations and monitoring and evaluation, including regular reporting on outcomes and impact of national projects to the YEF project team.

The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for all individual donor support processes, systems, strategies and individual giving fundraising appeals, which ensure we have excellent relationships with our donors to retain and grow our individual giving income. Powerful narratives, storytelling and engagement with donors is crucial to ensure that our funding need and impact is shared with supporters. 

The Individual Giving Manager will work with the Head of Fundraising and Deputy CEO to grow our major donor, regular giving, appeal and legacy income alongside sustaining our irregular giving and Gift Aid income. The Individual Giving Manager will line manage the Fundraising Assistant, which is a new entry-level fundraising role responsible for the development and day-to-day administration of our community fundraising income stream for individuals and our corporate community.

Militaries are major contributors to the climate crisis but it remains unclear how large their greenhouse gas emissions are because reporting under domestic and international frameworks is often voluntary or incomplete.

Since 2021, CEOBS and our international network of academic and civil society partners have played an important role in drawing attention to this data gap. Our Military Emissions Gap project works to communicate the scale of the reporting gap, to mainstream the topic in climate and military spaces, and to help create the conditions whereby the emissions from military activities and armed conflicts are properly documented and understood. We work with a wide range of stakeholders, from militaries, academia and the media, to policy makers and peace groups.

Research is vital to the project, underpinning all of our advocacy and awareness-raising activities and, thanks to recent grant funding we are now in a position to create a dedicated post for the project.

The role

You will work with our Climate Advocacy Coordinator, Director and academic partners to produce and contribute to unique research on military and conflict emissions, military-related climate impacts, and comparative studies on civil mitigation and decarbonisation strategies. The position is an excellent opportunity for an inquisitive, creative and conscientious environmental professional, with sound climate literacy and experience in carbon accounting, environmental reporting standards, and ESG policies and performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Office Administration

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Tonbridge Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and curation to the FYT Leadership Team, and to lead the smooth running of the FYT Organisation which supports the wider FYT Movement. This will include coordinating the delivery of the strategic plan, leading fundraising, and working closely with the FYT Board to oversee the smooth running of the organisation.

Hours: 22.5 hrs per week
Salary: £24,116 per annum (£40,194 pro rata) + 9% pension

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the FYT Movement – Engage with movement members

2. Lead the FYT staff team – supporting, supervising, enabling and encouraging and ensuring appropriate HR functions are carried out.

4. Work with the Finance Officer to manage the budget and finances within the parameters agreed by the Board.
5. Facilitate the effective function of the Leadership Team, enabling the smooth and efficient carrying out of the strategic priorities.
6. Provide Line Management support and supervision to the other members of the Leadership Team.
7. Develop, implement and monitor FYT’s strategic plan in partnership with the FYT team and board
8. Engage in practical theological reflection on FYT’s mission and how it is expressed.

10. Be an advocate for marginalised young people, the issues they face, and youth workers and projects working with them (pursuing prophetic mischief, provocation, and taking up our unique space in the youth ministry community).

12. Support the active promotion of the FYT training and resource offer.

Additional Information

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
• Engagement in ongoing, regular youth work with marginalised young people is not a requirement of this post, but encouraged. FYT will be flexible where possible in order to facilitate this.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will play a crucial role in the future growth of our charity and the impact that we achieve through partnership for people with sight loss. We are looking for an experienced new business fundraiser with a solid track record of growing income generating partnerships, donations and sponsorship from companies.

Role Responsibilities

Priorities include:

· Along with senior colleagues, represent the new organisation at virtual/ face-to-face meetings with existing partners and prospects, successfully engaging them with our emerging aims and objectives.

· Involve senior colleagues, trustees and other key stakeholders to open networks and support cultivation plans to ensure that peer-to-peer approaches are maximised.

· Using a wide array of digital and traditional channels to steward through storytelling and to thank.

Research:

· To direct the work of the shared Partnerships Assistant in researching, identifying, and maximising the potential of new corporate prospects using information held within the supporter databases as well as external sources such as LinkedIn, and business press.

Relationship building:

· Ensure all corporate relationships receive exceptional stewardship and that appropriate cultivation plans are developed, maintained and implemented – in particular, quality and timely reporting of impact achieved against funding provided.

· Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within current and potential corporate partners to embed the organisation as a charity with a strong reputation for meeting the needs of corporate supporters.

· Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view the impact of their funding first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met.

About the role

Working in close collaboration with the Senior Mass Fundraising Lead, the role will manage and deliver a variety of community-led fundraising initiatives and dynamic challenge events that engage supporters and generate vital unrestricted funds for children affected by neuroblastoma.

The role focuses on building strong relationships with fundraisers, volunteers and ambassadors, providing guidance, support and motivation to help them surpass their fundraising goals. The Community and Challenge Events Fundraising Manager will both steward existing and reactive contacts, as well as be confident in securing new networks, including representing the charity in presentations and other public speaking opportunities.
