We have seven permanent roles available and one fixed term contract for 18 months.

Portfolio Officers are at the core of what we do in the UK Portfolio and as we continue to develop in response to our strategy, we’re expanding our team. Our team is spread across the UK, and we're looking for people from a variety of locations within the UK.

As a Portfolio Officer you will:
- Work closely with grant seekers to support them through our funding processes, assess their applications and write and present high quality assessment recommendations to our decision-making Panels.
- Manage grants using best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
- Manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify, and manage risk and support organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
- Ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
- Use your critical thinking skills, curiosity, interest and understanding of our community-led mission areas to support and inform your approach to assessment and grant management.
- Be responsible for supporting people and communities across the UK, you will have a strong understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and our funding products.
- Work with stakeholders at different levels, represent the Fund at events, project visits and share learning from conversations, events, grant holder reports with the wider team so that we can maximise our impact.
- Work within the Fund’s policies and procedures and within the necessary legislation, in a way that is aligned with our values, visions and principles.
- At times, have opportunity to get involved in other work such as, helping to develop new funding products or contributing to cross Fund activities

You’ll report to one of our Portfolio Managers and work with other Portfolio Officers across different areas of the team.
The role requires occasional (once a month) travel across the UK to observe and critically analyse the work of applicants and grant holders.

About Us
The Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance (GMWSA) was established in 2016 by seven organisations who provide support services to women across all ten boroughs in Greater Manchester (GM) who may be vulnerable or have unmet support needs.
We came together as the GMWSA in order to ensure that our collective voice is heard by policy makers and commissioners of services. We represent the interests of our beneficiaries and service users, we share good practice and experience and ensure that no service operates in isolation. GMWSA is now formed of nine Member and Associate Member women’s centres having a presence in each of the 10 local authority areas across GM all of whom are collectively funded to deliver support services across GM to women either involved in the Criminal Justice System, or whose vulnerability and marginalisation leaves them at risk of offending, but all also have individual funding streams to ensure their provision reaches every woman in need of support.
Alliance members offer a full range of services to women who need support around issues such as domestic abuse, housing, mental health, substance misuse, education, employment, training, and confidence/self-esteem, all delivered with a trauma responsive approach.

Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to join GMWSA to transform the Alliance to meet future challenges around function and funding.
You will shape and implement the strategic direction of the Alliance, ensure the smooth running of the charity, provide leadership to staff, support the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance duties and ensure the delivery of grants and contracts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Direction
- Provide leadership and direction for the organisation and its staff in line with our vision.
- Clearly articulate and communicate GMWSAs vision, mission and values to staff, partners and others.
- Drive GMWSA’s strategy and business plan while establishing clear targets.
- Lead the development of innovative programs and services that align with GMWSA's mission.
- Ensure awareness of relevant current and changing legislation and good practice.
- Proactively build, maintain and leverage relationships with strategic partners, stakeholders and influencers to shape policy, secure support and ensure GMWSA’s voice is heard in key local and national forums.
Supporting the Board
- Responsibility for working with and advising the Board of Trustees with regard to strategic developments, delivery of grants and contracts, opportunities and challenges.
- Responsibility for working with the Board to develop the relationship with members.
- Support the Board of Trustees to ensure that the organisation is in all aspects legally and financially compliant and operating to best practice.
- Advise and work with the Chair and Board of Trustees in developing its structures.
- Ensure GMWSA has up-to-date policies on safeguarding, data protection and other regulatory requirements and that these are reviewed regularly and adhered to.
- Act as Company Secretary and Safeguarding Lead for the charity, undertaking appropriate training as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a risk management strategy to identify, monitor, and mitigate risks affecting GMWSA, including financial, legal, and reputational risks.
External Affairs
- Promote and encourage multi-agency partnerships with third sector, statutory bodies and the funding and delivery of projects, following our code of ethics and strategy.
- Ensure effective participation in relevant local and regional networks and foster relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Oversee the development of systems to measure the organisation's impact, ensuring clear, evidence-based reporting of outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
- Lead on using evaluation findings to drive improvements in services, delivery models and organisational strategy.
- Represent the work of GMWSA in publicity and media opportunities, with quotes and interviews, ensuring a consistently good public image and reputation.
Finances and Fundraising
- Accountable for fundraising from a range of sources to deliver GMWSA’s agreed strategic objectives in the medium term and working towards an increased sustainability in the long term.
- Responsibility for liaising with funders, writing applications and applying for grants from various government funds, trusts and foundations.
- Responsibility for securing corporate partnership.
- Ensure grants are spent appropriately within aims of the charity, the grants’ terms and in accordance with Charity Commissioner regulation.
- Ensure effective grant management processes are in place across member organisation in order to deliver grants and contracts.
- Report to funders in a timely and accurate way.
- Oversee budget management.
- Oversee all financial reporting ensuring it is accurate and done on a timely and regular basis, including the annual accounts/annual report.
People Management
- Provide leadership, direction and motivation for the team of staff, ensuring supervision and appraisals are carried out regularly.
- Lead on embedding EDI principles and ensuring the GMWSA’s policies and practices reflect its commitment to antidiscrimination and inclusivity.

Digital Transformation
- Ensure GMWSA is compliant with funder requirements to become IASME accredited.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
- Proven ability to think strategically and develop and implement long-term plans.
- Experience of leading organisational change and managing periods of transition.

- In-depth knowledge of the charity sector, including relevant legislation, best practice, and compliance requirements.

Blue Cross animal hospitals and pet care clinics provide veterinary treatment to sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private veterinary fees. Our vet care is available to pets whose owners receive certain means-tested benefits and live within the catchment area of one of our animal hospitals or pet care clinics.
We have developed an award-winning set of clinical guidelines to assist our vets in pragmatic, evidence-based decision making, where patient welfare is a priority. High standards are important to us, but so is the ability to discuss openly where lessons have been learnt, within a safe, non-judgmental environment.

About you
As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be confident and capable in delivering excellent nursing care for a range of small animals, providing both emergency and routine healthcare. Our Veterinary Nurses work alongside Veterinary Surgeons to promote animal health and welfare through responsible ownership and play a key role in the education of pet owners.
The ability to work as part of a team and effective communication skills are really important, often you will be the first point of our clients, forming strong bonds with them to ensure improved animal health and welfare.

About the role
As Senior Media and Campaigns Officer, you will play a key role in delivering Wellbeing of Women’s media relations and campaigns strategy. You will be responsible for generating regular, high-quality national and regional media coverage and working on the implementation of impactful campaigns that raise awareness, influence policy, and support the charity’s wider objectives. You will think creatively about how to promote our work through both media engagement and wider campaigning activity across digital and offline channels.

Experience of working with the media is essential, writing reactive lines and pitching to national media, as is a good understanding of campaigning principles and how to mobilise public or stakeholder support. Main duties
Media relations
- Work with the Head of Communications and Campaigns to develop and deliver a proactive PR strategy to increase the reach of the charity.
- Develop PR materials including press releases, pitch angles, interview briefs, and media lists.
- Coordinate accurate and timely responses to inbound media enquiries, liaising with journalists and spokespeople.
- Work on media opportunities for our high-profile ambassadors.
- Support media planning and execution for fundraising partnerships and key organisational milestones.
- Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, and newswires, for opportunities and coverage relevant to women’s health.
- Analyse and share media coverage internally and externally.

Background
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. A UK registered charity, we work in collaboration with Palestinian communities and trusted local partners, and coordinate with key stakeholders and relevant clusters, to meet a wide range of health and social needs, from providing vital medical aid in emergencies, to supporting the development of better health services for the long term. We also uplift the voices of Palestinians, and campaign for an end to the barriers to health and dignity that come from living through occupation, displacement, discrimination and conflict.
Purpose of role
MAP is in a period of growth and rapid development, and as such, the incoming Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the financial strategy and management of MAP and for the leadership of operational areas to help deliver the organisation’s mission and strategic goals. The COO provides support to the CEO in areas of governance, legal and risk management and may deputise for the CEO as required.
Responsibilities
Strategy, vision and leadership
- Be accountable to the CEO and Board in the areas of finance, technology, risk and compliance, supply chain and logistics, and safety and security.
- Advise the CEO and SMT on financial planning, legal, governance and related policy matters.
- Work closely with SMT colleagues to ensure that appropriate processes and systems are in place across the organisation, including delivery against KPIs.

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Community Outreach Manager to manage and expand our outreach efforts. The Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading a team to deliver Betknowmore UK's Community Outreach services, engaging with local communities, and supporting individuals impacted by gambling harms.

At Sessile Court, we provide supported accommodation for adults with enduring mental health needs. We recognise that, like everyone, our customers’ needs fluctuate and, as such, the support we provide is individually tailored in line with customer needs, preferences and aspirations.
You will be responsible for ensuring that each customer has a personalised package of support in place and that risk assessments reflect a positive approach to risk-taking. You will ensure that customers have choice and control over their support and are empowered to live as independently as possible, with the long-term aim being to gradually reduce support in a safe and planned way.
You will report to the Area Manager and will be part of a wider team of experienced Team Managers, who provide peer support to each other. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences. Experience communicating with university students, staff and academics is desirable.
- Hard working, detail orientated, and systematic.
- Working in a fast-paced working environment and/or a growing organisation.
- Producing well written content for newsletters and other channels.
- Social mobility expertise based on real-word experience of delivering social mobility initiatives, with a strong preference for experience improving social mobility in higher education (desirable)
- Experience using a CRM (desirable)

Role context:
Cord’s turnover is about £2m a year. About 85% of Cord’s funding is restricted, coming from institutional donors like the EU and the US government, and 15% (about £300K) is unrestricted coming from a committed UK supporter base and other private fundraising streams.
In 2025, Cord operates in eight countries and has offices in Burundi, Myanmar, Laos, & Cambodia. Cord has a global team of thirty people with finance staff across five country teams.
The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.
In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system and developing financial policies and procedures.
The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation
- To ensure the effective financial management of the organisation create and maintain effective financial control
- To be the Business Central Finance System Lead, developing functionality, troubleshooting and capacitating system users
- To ensure financial compliance: prepare statutory accounts, partner compliance, donor compliance and financial reporting
