As a Sous Chef you will be responsible for operating within one of two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings (Remembrance and Aspects) to supply catering across multiple outlets including self-serve 380 cover restaurant, table waited functions room up to 500, coffee shop, 'pop up Foodservice outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum and hospitality. We are open daily from 10:00 till 17:00 7 days a week, we do some bespoke evening events in our Aspects building throughout the year.
If successful, the main duties of your role will be:
- To support the Executive Head Chef in the delivery of the Food Services Strategy.
- Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of Staff, Volunteers, visitors and clients.
- To ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognised catering standards and those implemented by the Food Services Manager and Executive Head Chef.
- To take operational control, including supervision of all kitchen staff, of any of the kitchens, food production, food service and pot-wash areas as required by the Executive Head Chef.
- To assist the Executive Head Chef with menu planning, rota changes, staff training and stock control..
- To report any customer complaints and compliments and to quickly resolve any complaints to ensure satisfaction at the point of delivery wherever possible.
- To help ensure that all members of staff adhere to both statutory regulations and NMA's policies on food safety and health and safety within all catering areas.
- Work with the Executive Head Chef to ensure that effective induction, supervision and appraisals of catering staff are carried out and that training needs are identified and met.
Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum - Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR.
The post will be working 40 hours per week on 5 days out of 7 basis.

Home to over 350 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. Each year the Arboretum welcomes around 300,000 visitors, many of whom attend one of the 200+ events which take place across the site.
In March 2017, the National Memorial Arboretum formally opened its new award-winning Remembrance Centre.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities;

Casework and advice
· To offer advice, advocacy and support to service users with various aspects related to their welfare as requested by the management of RMC and funders’ requirements.
· To maintain confidentiality in all dealings with service users and ensure their needs are met in a satisfactory and sensitive manner.
· To provide appropriate support and mentoring to any volunteers under supervision.
· To represent RMC at external meetings and events when required by the senior colleagues.
· To maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders.
A DBS check will be carried out for this post.
Flexibility
In order to deliver the stated aims of for this post, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above, such duties will fall within the scope of the job and be directly related within the appropriate pay grade. The Trussell Trust are seeking a Philanthropy Executive to join our high-performing Major Donor team. The Philanthropy Executive supports the work of the team with executive tasks and in managing the stewardship communications for a specific caseload tier of supporters. You will help to develop our plans for working with this tier, liaising with the Individual Giving team to manage the donor journey between mid-value and the major donor caseload. You will co-ordinate a tailored programme of stewardship communications and engagement helping to build and deepen long-term relationships and secure income.
Role responsibilities

Stewarding a tier of donors to bring them closer to our work, planning and coordinating a programme of one-to-many communications, asks and appeals as well as quarterly updates (to be used across the major donor caseload), thanking donors, and helping to build understanding of the impact of their support.

Managing the philanthropy team inbox and providing first point of contact for enquiries and colleagues, fielding them to the relevant team members.

Co-ordinating with the Individual Giving mid-value team to effectively manage supporter journeys. Liaising with the Supporter Care team to ensure that contact records are accurate and data protection compliant, and that gifts are coded and recorded correctly on our database.

The contract is for an initial 18-month term.
The initial focus of the Community Builder role is to research and establish a deep understanding of the area, collaborating with local residents and existing organisations to uncover the key community assets and skills of local residents.
The role involves ‘Supporting and encouraging residents to be active in their local community and helping them to take the lead on topics that are important to them.’
