We are recruiting for a Director of Corporate Services to join our Senior Leadership team here at Refuge.
Job Title: Director of Corporate Services
Location: Flexible/Hybrid with the ability to attend the London Office (Vauxhall) at least once a week
Salary: £88,000 per annum (Inclusive of £3,000 London Weighting, which may not be applicable depending on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement)

Do you have significant experience leading corporate service functions and overseeing the management of physical and financial resources to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join oursenior leadership team, acting as trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on the formation, development and application of policy and strategic decisions.
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant with experience of managing multiple income streams including housing, voluntary, contract and trading income. You will have a comprehensive understanding of objective centric risk management, alongside the ability to lead strategic projects.

We've been harvesting rainwater in remote communities for almost 40 years. Our work improves health, reduces poverty, builds climate change resilience and increases the attendance of girls at school. We are looking for someone special to join our small team in an exciting new fundraising role - could that be you?
Our new CEO joined in March 2024 and has led the development of a new three-year strategy focusing on the expansion of our existing programmes in Africa - income growth is vital to support this aim.
This new role will be responsible for generating an increase in our income from fundraising channels largely not explored by the existing team. You would work closely with the CEO but would need to be comfortable being highly autonomous and self-sufficient. You would have demonstrable success and in-depth knowledge of at least three of the following fundraising channels: corporates, individuals, community/events, major donors, legacies.

Job description
We’re recruiting for a new Fundraising Manager to build on the growth and development we’ve experienced in recent years, and move us to the next level. You will work closely with senior leadership and colleagues across the organisation to
raise crucial funding, public support and awareness to underpin our organisationalstrategy. You will also develop and manage relationships with supporters and funders, as well as strategic partners and external suppliers as required.
Key tasks
● Management and development of all streams of fundraising
● Line management of 1x Fundraising Officer and 1x Grants Lead
● Management/liaison/briefing for external suppliers/freelancers/volunteers related to fundraising
● Uphold brand across fundraising
● Build and manage relationships, partnerships and connections to support Ella’s’ fundraising
● Lead on fundraising and related strategies and policies, and input into organisational strategies and policies
● Attend senior management meetings (weekly online), team check ins (weekly in-person) and other internal and external meetings online and in-person as required
● Monitor and report on targets

About the role:
As Digital Hub Editor and Content Creator you will provide the editorial and technical support needed to support the efficient running of our unique online support and information service for our Children and Trauma Community Hub (CATCH) and our new hub, Bounce, that provides domestic violence support and training. You’ll continue the development of the content and functionality of both Hubs.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights, feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs and facing barriers to social protection. Around 2,000 women use our services every year, benefitting from practical and emotional support, learning new skills and improving their own opportunities. We strive to provide essential tools for women to empower themselves in their pursuit of personal and social change.
LAWRS’ No Limits Project (Sin Fronteras) is a creative art-based project for Latin American girls and young women (LAGYW) aged 14 to 21. The project provides a safe space for LAGYW who are facing severe disadvantages due to intersectional inequalities. This holistic programme provides participants with support to address their needs and overcome barriers. It also offers opportunities for developing existing and new skills, as well as exercising critical thinking on issues that matter to them through the use of arts and campaigning work. The aim of this project is to enable participants to empower themselves and each other to seek the change they want to see in their lives, communities and wider society.
The post holder will join our Counselling and Psychotherapy team, providing emotional support sessions, clinical assessments and one-to-one short term therapy to LAGYW; delivering group work activities and psychoeducational workshops, dealing with internal and external referrals and working closely with the No limits (Sin Fronteras) Project Coordinator and other teams at LAWRS.

Role:
Scottish Women’s Aid has an exciting opportunity to join their communications team. This is an influential and dynamic position, reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Communications Lead shares responsibility for leading SWA’s communications work, campaigning, messaging, and delivering a media strategy in line with our strategic objectives.
Working collaboratively across Policy, Fundraising, member, and training teams at SWA you will co-develop and deliver a communications strategy, identifying the best ways to lever change through media campaigns around key issues for women, children, and young people experiencing domestic abuse. You will shape a wide variety of materials and outputs that support SWA’s broader advocacy and campaigning aims. You will devise engaging communications approaches and craft compelling content. This will include media responses, PR, press releases, and briefing notes as well as articles for a range of audiences comprising our network, partners, stakeholders, the media, government, and wider civil society. You will also co-curate our online presence, creating engaging content across a range of platforms, and be adept at analysing engagement metrics and evaluating impact.
Background
Scottish Women’s Aid is the lead organisation in Scotland working to end domestic abuse. We are both a children’s rights and a women’s rights organisation.
- We directly campaign to institutions and leaders for policies and laws that address the drivers of women’s inequality and improve responses to domestic abuse. This work makes women and children safer and helps them disentangle themselves from their abusers.
- We provide training to public and private bodies from the police and judiciary to child welfare systems, to effectively respond to survivors.
- We raise the profile of domestic abuse nationally and internationally so that domestic abuse is treated like the critical threat to human rights that it is.
- We host Scotland’s 24-Hour Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline to ensure help is always available while actively supporting a network of 33 specialist local Women’s Aid services that directly support and provide refuge to women and children of Scotland affected by domestic abuse
- We are the umbrella organisation for 33 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, children and young people across Scotland, providing guidance, support and training to our members
What We Need
We’re looking for someone who can fulfill the above description and has:
- Relevant experience in a communications role (of at least 4 years)
- Understanding of social justice communications principles and best practices
- Excellent written communication skills and experience producing content for key audiences
- Experience of campaign work within a VAWG, political, parliamentary or public affairs context.
- Experience of working with or in the media
- Experience coordinating digital communications, including websites, and social media and how to utilise their potential.
- Competent in using own initiative, managing work, and responding to opportunities effectively.
- Experience of Canva or similar graphic design software, and video editing platforms to create quality on brand social media and other related design content
- Experience of evaluation and monitoring impact
- Ideally, we would also like
- Experience of communicating a gendered message
- Understanding of the media and culture sectors in Scotland
- Experience of translating detailed and complex information into compelling and accurate information for use in the media

Annual Leave

Learning and Development

Joshua supports community-driven sustainable development projects to assist vulnerable children and their families in rural Malawi. We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced individual to oversee and manage our current fundraising streams and develop new ones. This is a varied role working across Trusts and Foundations to Community Fundraising.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, able to work independently and be able to respond to changing priorities. You will be expected to meet fundraising targets set by the UK Trustees.
This is a home-based role on a self-employed basis. Ability to work flexible hours to suit, as long as application/reporting deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
Developing detailed funding applications and providing regular reporting to our current donors/grants/trusts and foundations
Major and Individual donor – fundraising and relationship building
Assisting with event planning
Liaison with community groups (churches/schools/member organisations)

Social media – including running online fundraising appeals, updating website, blog, Facebook, Instagram and X

Intelligence Analyst (Project Officer)

You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for identifying relevant data or trends from our web scraping partners, our own data warehouse (TA Hub), and other intelligence sources that can be used in investigation and ultimately utilised by our commercial partners and law enforcement agencies.
Human traffickers leave traces in the recruitment of victims, the exploitation of those victims in supply chains, and in the flow of money. This role will focus on the latter two areas, using data to identify opportunities to disrupt criminal money flows, and assess human trafficking risks in supply chains. Our intelligence products facilitate partner organisations to act in terms of proactively mitigating risk, safeguarding, asset freezing, and ultimately prosecution of offenders.
This role will have a particular focus on understanding supply chains and using intelligence to understand how traffickers infiltrate legitimate businesses. Understanding how human trafficking and modern slavery fits into a wider narrative on human rights will be essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
· Analysing and improving human trafficking data collection, visualisation, and dissemination.
· Assisting with the analysis of gathered intelligence, transforming data into actionable insights, and strategic recommendations for businesses, as well as banks.
· Collaborating with global businesses to assess their human rights risk, from a human trafficking perspective, and deliver intelligence-led advice and expertise.
· Collaborating with financial institutions, investigating the relationships between illicit transactions and human trafficking to enhance the possibility of prosecution.
· Working closely with our Prevention Team to support the development of highly relevant, specific campaign content that reaches vulnerable, at-risk communities on the ground with safety information to avoid harm/exploitation.
