About the Role

This is a key supporter-facing role where you will:

• Be the friendly first point of contact for members and prospective members via phone, email, and other channels.

• Handle inbound and outbound calls, including proactively reaching out to members to address cancellations, encourage upgrades, or convert cash supporters into ongoing members.

• Maintain accurate supporter data, preferences, and interactions in Salesforce CRM.

• Collaborate with our Digital Marketing Officer, Data & CRM Officer, and Gifts in Wills Officer to nurture relationships and move supporters through their journey, ensuring that every member feels appreciated and connected to our mission.

• Support the Marketing and Communications team with occasional wider projects, such as campaigns, virtual or in-person events, or member engagement initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Compassionate and member-focused, with a genuine desire to make every interaction count.

• Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

• Confident and professional on the phone and in written communication.

• Comfortable with outbound calling — experience in telephone fundraising or supporter upgrade calling is desirable.

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Comfortable with technology, ideally with some experience using CRMs (Salesforce experience is a bonus).

• Experienced in supporter care, customer service, or a similar role (desirable but not essential).

• Aligned with AWIP’s mission, with a strong commitment to animal welfare and, ideally, a cruelty-free lifestyle.

• Able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Key Details

• Hours: 16 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• Salary: £11,885.71 pro-rata (£26,000 FTE)

The Development and Alumni Office (DARO) exists to support the University of Birmingham's academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. The Office, which is comprised of five teams, is focused on fundraising and volunteering from alumni, organisations and individuals who are passionate about changing lives, through funding various research projects, supporting student bursaries, mentoring students, and providing internships, as well as providing a versatile programme of engagement opportunities for our global alumni community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join DARO as Donor Experience Manager, helping to shape and deliver outstanding donor journeys for multiple audiences. In this role, you’ll play a key part in deepening relationships with our donors and volunteers, ensuring that their experience of supporting beneficiaries is meaningful, personal and impactful.

You will lead on the planning and delivery of our donor experience programme, from tailored communications and impact reports to stewardship and cultivation events, campus visits and administration of our Recognition Circles. With a strong understanding of donor motivations, you’ll create experiences that reflect the transformative impact of philanthropy and build long-term engagement.

You will manage a team of two Donor Experience Officers, setting individual and team objectives while providing day-to-day support, clear direction, and opportunities for professional development. As a team leader, you’ll create a collaborative and high-performing culture, ensuring that workload is prioritised and balanced, deadlines are met, and work is consistently delivered to a high standard. This role sits in the Fundraising team within the Development and Alumni Relations Office.

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Charitable and Corporate Partnerships (Trusts and Foundations), Communications, Events, Data and Supporter Insight and Campaign Management, as well as academics and Professional Services colleagues across the University, you’ll ensure a joined-up approach that puts donors at the heart of our work. You’ll also support the engagement and recognition of volunteers, including bespoke activity for our Alumni Leadership Mentoring Programme members.

We’re looking for a creative and collaborative individual with experience in donor or stakeholder engagement, event delivery, and writing for impact. You’ll bring a strategic mindset, excellent relationship management skills, and a genuine passion for enhancing the donor experience at a leading university.

We are looking for someone to join our Safeguarding Team as a Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) on a 12-month fixed term contract as maternity cover.

Hours: 35 Hours  

Salary: £43,824.25 - £51,279.38 (Dependent on experience)

The role of Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor is; 

• To manage allegations of abuse and provide support as appropriate
• To support victims and survivors of abuse 
• Progress cases to their full conclusion within the time frame stipulated by the Director of Safeguarding
• Support the triage of incoming safeguarding cases 
• Collate information regarding disclosures of abuse, allegations or concerns 
• Complete comprehensive risk assessments on individuals who pose a risk in the church context
• Prepare comprehensive safety plans for individuals who pose a risk in the church context
• Keep all case files up to date by accurately and consistently recording actions taken on cases using the Diocese case management system
• To actively liaise with relevant agencies, for example, police, probation services, and local authorities
• To ensure known offenders within (or returning to) the church community are appropriately managed and supported by the church

The successful candidate must;

Have extensive experience working in a safeguarding context: in a health, police, local authority or probation setting. There is flexibility in background, and we ask applicants to fully expand on this in their application when addressing their suitability for the role.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of front-line child protection intervention and/or risk assessment of adult perpetrators, and application of risk assessment.

The package includes a competitive salary, flexi-time scheme, reimbursement of travelling expenses, an 8% non-contributory pension with an additional 5% matched contributions, hybrid working (50%), and 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and four customary days a year (between Christmas and New Year).

We are seeking a Perinatal Outreach Coordinator to provide person-centred, individual and group support to perinatal women (pregnant women and birthing people of children less than 2 years old) within the London Borough of Greenwich. The role works directly with the Oxleas Perinatal Mental Health Team and is employed by South East London Mind.

You will be responsible for supporting women under the care of the Oxleas Perinatal Mental Health Team with moderate to severe mental health challenges who have been identified as requiring additional practical and social support. You will work one-to-one in the community to develop personalised plans focused on their recovery, providing support to help them get and remain well during the perinatal period.

You will develop, deliver and facilitate a programme of perinatal support groups and other activities that encourage women to access outreach support within the local community, develop social networks and reduce isolation as part of their recovery plan. Current activities include weekly play sessions, walking group, soft play, picnics and monthly outings.

Applicants should have a good understanding of mental health challenges in the perinatal period alongside experience of supporting families with multiple and diverse needs. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and highly organised is essential for this role.

Additional information:

• Applicants will be required to attend a weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting every Tuesday afternoon (based in Bexley DA2).
• Applicants must be able to travel and work within the London Borough of Greenwich and surrounding areas in effective manner, including conducting home visits and group activities in community venues.

We are River Action

We are a small and agile campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue Britain's rivers from a toxic cocktail of agricultural, sewage and industrial pollution. We support community action, galvanise and mobilise public opinion, influence government policy, and call out destructive industrial practices to incentivise changes that end pollution. 

We are building a talented team of positive disrupters and community mobilisers to deliver our strategy to urgently protect and restore our rivers for the benefit of community and wildlife.

Britain’s rivers are our life support system and they are dying. We need urgent action to bring them back to life.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong policy insights capable of blending analytical problem-solving with intelligent advocacy to drive meaningful change. What you’ll be doing

As our Policy and Advocacy Manager, you will play a leading role in shaping and advancing River Action’s political and policy influence, working closely with the Head of Legal and Policy, Chief Executive and wider team to develop and execute an impactful policy and advocacy strategy.

River Action is the Co-Secretariat for the APPG on Water Pollution, offering our Policy and Advocacy Manager a unique opportunity to shape the policy direction for River Action and also to influence policy development across Parliament. 

You will also work closely with our public affairs agency who manage our daily Westminster activities. 

You will:

• Lead River Action’s policy and advocacy work on agricultural, sewage and industrial water pollution, with a focus on regulation, funding and legal frameworks. 

• Collaborate with River Action’s team and external partners to ensure our collective work is underpinned by robust and forward-thinking policy analysis and evidence.

• Develop policy analysis to support campaign, communications and policy strategies, based on a strong evidence base and a sound understanding of the relevant legal and policy frameworks.

• Translate complex policy and evidence into concise documents with clear messages and compelling campaigns to engage political and policy stakeholders.

• Monitor and analyse political and policy developments, interpreting their implications and opportunities for River Action and its supporters.

• Generate analysis to enable participation in public consultation processes, including drafting high-quality and persuasive consultation responses and briefings for Westminster and Whitehall audiences.

• Increase our political influence with exciting policy interventions, ensuring River Action’s voice is heard at the highest levels of decision-making.

• Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, civil servants, industry experts and partner organisations.

• Support grassroots community groups and third-sector partners in engaging with their local representatives for effective advocacy.

• Organise and attend key political meetings and events, including the Water Pollution APPG, stakeholder roundtables and parliamentary events.

• Manage strategic policy partnerships, including our relationship with Wildlife and Countryside Link and other third-sector organisations.

• Ensure River Action’s policy and advocacy efforts align with our creative campaigns, by making sure colleagues and spokespeople are well-briefed and communications content is well-informed to maximise reach and impact.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

• Experience in a similar policy and advocacy role, ideally within the environmental sector. 

• Policy and/or legislative experience, with a good understanding of the workings of the UK government and Parliamentary procedure.

• A good understanding of the UK water industry, the key UK water-related policies and the issues that are impacting our rivers, land and wildlife.

• Excellent communication and writing skills with close attention to detail and the ability to produce concise and persuasive briefings, reports and consultation responses.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working creatively and at a fast pace with colleagues, stakeholders and partners. 

• Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to proactively plan and prioritise work and to report your progress and impact.

• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as necessary.

• A good and supportive team player with a willingness to muck in as and when required.

Please prepare a 2 page policy briefing for MPs on a current issue affecting the health of UK rivers. Your briefing should be written in a clear, persuasive style suitable for a Parliamentary and government audience and:

• Identify a water-related issue (e.g. agricultural pollution, sewage discharges or water management).

• Provide a concise analysis of the impact on rivers and biodiversity.

• Summarise relevant UK Government policies and legislation.

• Propose two or three practical policy recommendations for decision-makers.

About the Role

As our VAWG Service Manager you will be responsible for the management and delivery of The Angelou Centre’s holistic, trauma informed and culturally competent VAWG services for Black and minoritised women and children. You will ensure the smooth and efficient management of our frontline VAWG services for Black and racialised women and children across Northumbria and the North East. You will manage the day-to-day delivery of projects and services, case management as well as managing a caseload of complex cases. You will ensure that all services maintain high safeguarding standards across the organisation, ensuring that we continue to prioritise women and children or their rights remains central to services. As our VAWG Service Manager you will oversee our representation at multi-agency partnership meetings and develop strategic opportunities for the VAWG services. You will work closely with our Safe Accommodation and Refuge team to ensure our residents remain safe and receive a high standard of support.

Our ideal candidate is someone who;

• Has previously worked within the Domestic Abuse and/or VAWG Sector in management positions, with an excellent knowledge of rights-based ending VAWG service delivery and a track record of case management and safeguarding.
• Is interested in working strategically with the Executive Director to develop and maintain external partnerships, that will support the delivery of quality VAWG services and needs based service growth.
• Strong leadership experience to support the development of high-quality advocacy services and an aspirational staff team.

About the role:

University Access Officers are responsible for delivering The Access Project’s high impact mentoring programme to students across our partner schools. This role works with a caseload of students supporting them from the start of Year 12 up to the end of Year 13 to understand the pathway to a top university. 

The role also involves project coordination. You will work with our schools, volunteers and teams across The Access Project to ensure young people are inspired and supported to have the best possible chance of achieving social mobility and enhancing their future prospects.  

This role is for a University Access Officer to work in one of our schools in Nottinghamshire delivering our Accelerate programme.

Role responsibilities 

Mentoring - Work directly with young people by mentoring a caseload of students in a professional and safe manner: 

• Deliver our University Readiness programme through in-depth, targeted 1:1 mentoring sessions with Year 12 and Year 13 students 
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications. 
• Support Year 12 and 13 students to complete self-paced learning modules on our dedicated platform, The Access Hub, delivering interventions where necessary. 
• Use knowledge and information gathered through mentoring students to flag potential issues within volunteer/student interactions so that appropriate quality assurance can be conducted. 
• Deliver high quality and informative assemblies to students across KS3 and 4 – introducing them to the power of mentoring, de-mystifying the path to university and building their motivation to succeed. 
• Support partner schools with trip logistics, acting in a leadership position when accompanying students on school trips.
• Direct enrolled students to appropriate wider enrichment opportunities, encouraging both extra and super-curricular participation and reflection. 

Project coordination and management: 

• Support partner school with recruitment of students, leading on the enrolment and induction of selected eligible students to ensure that The Access Project has fully enrolled and engaged cohorts. 
• Lead on student facing communications by collaborating with the wider delivery team to case manage students on the programme. This could mean acting as point of consultation for pairing students with coaches/tutors or coming up with solutions when students are not engaging across the whole programme. 
• Support the tuition and coaching team in driving student attendance at volunteer sessions (coaching and tuition), including acting as a point of escalation through mentoring and liaising with schools to make decisions/actions to offboard/replace students if deemed necessary. 
• Lead quality assurance of coaching pairings completing a caseload of drop ins.
• Send regular summary updates to school as their key point of contact. Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme. 
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database in a timely manner (training is provided). 
• Support with creation of school reports and present at school meetings with Managers to report on programme progress. 
• Support the wider team by attending university site visits which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided). 
• Participate in working groups, programme design and annual reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Any other responsibilities reasonably deemed necessary by The Access Project.

Training and Development 

You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from more senior University Access Officers and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. There are opportunities for progression, including several additional responsibility roles which are available for UAOs to apply for once they have completed their probationary period successfully.

You will support the promotion of sustainable shopping and the shop’s social media to increase audience reach, attract customers, donors and volunteer supporters to deliver the Retail Strategy.

Role Requirements

• To maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
• Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
• Achieve the shops Raffle sales targets through involving the shops team.
• To maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
• Manage the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary and recording key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist in holding and attending Fundraising events to promote the awareness of The Children’s Trust.
• To source links with local communities to promote Retail in the community via media and other sources.
• Role involves a degree of manual handling in sorting and lifting of stock.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and highly dedicated Customer Success Manager to become a trusted partner to our charity clients. This role is crucial to the success of our clients, combining strategic account management for all dedicated clients and hands-on project management and campaign build for managed services clients.

You will be responsible for nurturing strong, long-term relationships, ensuring our clients achieve their fundraising goals and realise maximum value from our platform and services. You will also be the main driver of renewals, keeping churn at a minimum and working with the Head of Partnerships and Head of Commercial Strategy to increase lifetime value alongside identifying and executing up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Account Management:

• Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders at non-profit organisations, deeply understanding their digital fundraising goals and aligning our solutions with their strategic objectives.

• Work closely with the Growth team to deliver smooth and effective handover milestones, ensuring ongoing client confidence.

• Conduct regular check-ins and strategic reviews to assess client satisfaction, gather feedback, and platform updates.

• Proactively manage client health scores through our CRM  to help identify opportunities to increase client’s value and reduce churn.
