We are currently looking for committed, enthusiastic and flexible sessional staff to work during school holiday periods and the remainder of the year as One to One Support Workers (supporting young people with additional needs or disabilities).
Rates of Pay: £13.45ph to £15.02ph (depending on experience/qualifications, including holiday allowance)
Hours: Varying, including daytime, twilight hours, evening, weekends, bank holidays, school holidays and occasional residential periods as required

Summary of Role
Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Support Workers are key to ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for children and young people. Working with children and young people on and one to one basis and in group settings, the role will support the delivery of our play and youth projects and activities to aid their development and will include providing support to young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities.
Responsibilities
·Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of children and young people (including those with additional needs) by assisting in the running, organisation and delivery of particular projects.
·Establishing positive relationships with all children and young people supporting and enabling them to increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities.
·Coordinating resources and to develop opportunities for children and young people which reflects their particular needs and circumstances.
·Facilitating the active involvement of the children and young people in the planning anddevelopment of the project programme.
·Facilitating the positive integration of children and young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or additional needs within the project.
·Providing for the personal care needs of the children and young people as required including toileting, changing and feeding.
·Supporting and guiding volunteers, trainees and junior leaders in all of the above, as required.
·Working as a member of the AAA team to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people being supervised including day to day 'housekeeping' of the site and maintenance of equipment.
·Liaising with parents, carers and other organisations and professionals as required.
·Adapting activities to meet a child's/young person’s needs as appropriate.
·Carrying out health and safety inspections as required.
·Adhering to AAA policies and procedures in respect of safeguarding children and young people.
·Administering medication and/or carry out tube feeding as required, if appropriate training successfully completed.

Main Responsibilities
- As a children’s Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a residential childcare team providing support for individuals with their physical, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.
- Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, your role as Children’s Residential Support Worker will be to prepare, assist and enable the young people to fulfil the aims of their person-centred plan. You will support the children and young people with communication and work closely in a team that has a passion to enhance the young people’s lives whilst accessing the service.
- You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.

About the service
Our service based in Heaton Mersey works with young people who present with inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour. You will become part of a team that works in a therapeutic and nurturing environment focusing on a child centered approach. You will support safe social integration and offer a non-judgmental attitude to your daily work. Our specialist teams within these homes have an outstanding track record in achieving longstanding positive outcomes for these young people.
About you & Qualifications
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience in a similar background, but it’s not essential as full training will be provided.
- Following a successful 6-month probation period, you will undertake a QCF level 3 or 4 qualification with support from an assessor and supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be expected to liaise with other staff, parents/carers, and professionals.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
- You’ll be writing reports, so a good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential.
- Transporting children / young people to an activity or school is a requirement. A driving licence that has been held for 12 months would be desirable.

Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting young carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.
With your proven knowledge of working with children and young people, families, carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you will recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of young carers and their families, including knowledge and awareness of sibling young carers and vulnerable families. You will be self-motivated and positive in your approach to working with both young carers, their families and team members, and have a willingness to embrace our organisational values. To support dads to have positive relationships with their families
We are looking for a Dad Matters Support Coordinator to join our team to deliver 121 support to dads in the perinatal period. The successful candidate will play a key part in better supporting dads/partners in the early days of parenthood across Gloucestershire.
The successful applicant will either be a dad themselves or someone who has equivalent knowledge and experience in working in this type of setting.

- Drawing on your own experience of parenting to encourage dad’s strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children

Outreach Support
The post holder will attend Gloucestershire Royal Hospital every week to support dads who are visiting the hospital for antenatal visits and maternity visits. This will involve the following:
- Setting up the Dad Matters pop up information point on the ward
- Liaising with hospital staff and maintaining excellent relationships
- Supporting dads as needed who are visiting the hospital on a 1-2-1 bases
- Signposting dads as appropriate
In addition the post holder will be required to facilitate one Stay and Play session each month. This will involve:
- Keeping essential records of attendees of groups
- Giving dads a safe space to interact and socialise with other dads
- Encouraging dads to widen their network of relationships and to use effectively the support and services available in the community.

Streets of Growth is seeking to employ an experienced, motivated, and personable individual to work as part of the frontline team to deliver targeted street work to engage and build relationships of trust with high-risk vulnerable young people (15-25 years), in hotspot areas known for Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), exploitation, serious youth violence and young people that are furthest away from engaging in services.
You should expect to be appointed at the starting point of the salary scale and a higher starting salary band is dependent on you having extensive experience and skills in street work and detached outreach work as well as relevant frontline experience of working with at-risk young people.

The role:
Delivering targeted street work and outreach across the borough of Tower Hamlets. This involves engaging and building relationships of trust with young people at street level and in identified hotspot areas of risk where there is low to high anti-social behaviour, criminality and violence. Working with and engaging young people in strategic interventions across Lifestyle, Enterprise/Employability, Education and Environment that constructively challenge negative patterns of behaviour, create an experience for positive thinking, confidence building, entrepreneurial work skills, and tapping into the young person’s ambition, potential and talent.
You will be working alongside Intervention Coaches to progress street-engaged young people into Streets of Growth’s staged-based Appropriate Intervention Bridging Programme delivered from our flagship Centre based in Aldgate East and delivering appropriate targeted intervention work at the street/estate level during critical incident situations in the community.
Who we are looking for:
Along with a relevant qualification up to at least Level 2, you will have robust frontline experience working with young people, including experience of detached outreach work with young people.
