About the Role
Reporting to Head of Fundraising and Communications, you'll play a crucial role in raising funds by engaging with SME's and the local community. This role involves developing and implementing fundraising campaigns, cultivating relationships with potential donors, supporting staff fundraising initiatives and coordinating fundraising events. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and build long-term partnerships that contribute to the sustainability and growth of the organisation.
The Youth Zone has developed a targeted funds infrastructure with live impact data established and ready to utilise in funding presentations. It costs £1.7 million a year to run, 90% of which is generated through voluntary donations of which this role will be aiming to contribute £200k in the first 2 years.
You will therefore play a vital role in keeping the charity financially sustainable through the development of local business and community fundraising. You will be given ample scope to test your creative ideas and drive forward income generation, supported by the Head of Fundraising and Communications, the Chief Executive and a forward thinking and engaged Board of Trustees.
About You
Being self-motivated and action orientated, you will be able to create and grow your own pool of potential supporters and thrive on 'making the ask'. As an enthusiastic ambassador, you'll be able to communicate this in an inspiring and tailored way and be comfortable in seeking and securing donations, whilst working alongside colleagues in the team to monitor and steward these donations appropriately.
Knowledge and experience:
Proven track record of generating income from Community and/or Corporate Fundraising.
Experience of meeting ambitious targets for new business and stewarding.
Experience of managing a pipeline of potential supporters/donors and aligning your interests with the organisational needs, to maximise gift level.
Understanding of issues affecting young people and disadvantaged communities.
Understanding and knowledge of White City Community.

The Role

KidsOut’s core mission is to provide support designed to improve emotional, educational and social outcomes for children and young people who are facing numerous adverse childhood experiences associated with domestic abuse, poverty, family breakdown or ill health. KidsOut’s support is offered to every child in a Women’s Aid refuge and over 100 independent refuges as well as children and young people experiencing crisis and challenge from some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged communities across the UK. Many of the 70,000 children and young people we support have undergone traumatic experiences, which can cause significant harm to their psychological development, their emotional wellbeing, their school life and their relationships.
We aim is to restore some normality and provide comfort to these traumatised children and young people though our programme of wellbeing amd educational activities. Our multi-faceted activities include fun days out, music, sport and art workshops as well as delivery of our bespoke Toyboxes to every child arriving at refuge. Additionally, for young people struggling to cope with their mental health we collaborate with regional partners to offer face-to-face sessions that offer specialist support and coping strategies to build resilience and improve emotional wellbeing.
In your role of Trust and Partnerships Officer you will be actively involved in the provision of these positive initiatives by applying your excellent research and relationship management skills to help develop a pipeline of income from charitable trusts and corporate foundations with the potential to support our wide range of projects. You will identify and develop compelling applications to secure funding through various funding sources, that not only contributes to the financial team target but makes a difference to the UK's most vulnerable children.
Key Duties:
- You will write compelling and successful funding applications to Charitable Trusts, Statutory funds and other grant making organisations.
- You’ll keep up to date on the UK grant funding market and trends
- You’ll build and maintain grants and partnership pipeline, seeking out new prospects and opportunities to support existing and new projects.
- You’ll ensure compliant and organised information filing on SharePoint and CRM to facilitate access to relevant information for colleagues and ensure smooth collaboration.

About this role:
This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Philanthropy Fundraiser to join the Charity team here at Alder Hey, the UK’s busiest Children’s Hospital.
We’re looking for someone who loves building relationships and is passionate about high value fundraising. You will have relevant charity fundraising experience with exceptional writing skills to create compelling applications and proposals for funding. We are working in partnership with The Honeypot Children’s Charity, a UK charity who are looking for an experienced Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants to research, identify and deliver six figure level income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.
With headquarters in London, and three respite houses situated in the South of England, Wales and Scotland, the Honeypot continuously supports young carers aged 5 to 12 years old, who perform a surrogate adult role as a carer for a loved one, often single-handedly, and whose wellbeing is at significant risk, leading to anxiety, isolation, poor confidence, and low self-esteem.
This newly created role the Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants will lead and develop a new income stream for the Charity, researching and developing a sustainable and key pipeline of six figure income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

Philanthropy Manager

About the role:
We are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to proactively lead the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, trusts and statutory bodies, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.
Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Engagement, the Philanthropy Manager will drive the growth of a portfolio of existing supporters and new prospects giving at the five and six figure gift level, with a particular focus on generating major gifts from new donors. The postholder will think strategically to develop inspiring fundraising cases of support, and impact reporting working closely with Care service colleagues, the finance team and the wider fundraising and engagement team.
This role has line management responsibility for three experienced fundraisers who manage their own portfolios of Major Donors, Trusts, and Foundations.
What we’re looking for:
· An experienced and enthusiastic Philanthropy Manager – with a track record of achieving challenging income targets and effective prospect management. Applications will be particularly welcome from those with a background in a children’s charity or SME with ownership of strategic planning.
· A poised, confident and convincing communicator – you have strong negotiation, presentation and networking skills and the ability to quickly connect with and motivate others
· A helpful and supportive team member – you work collaboratively and stimulate others into action
· A goal-orientated and analytical problem solver – you respond quickly to varied activities and are able to adapt quickly to change, whilst focusing on the bigger picture.
· A high level of attention to detail and accuracy – you work at a fast pace handling details whilst maintaining accuracy.
· Confident use of MSOffice and extensive experience of Excel – you have strong attention to detail, are comfortable working with data, and produce high quality accurate work.
