We are looking for individuals who will thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding role helping to change the lives of young people by taking up a permanent role as a part-time Programme Support Tutor. You will work closely with our existing team, supporting the delivery and organisation of the IntoUniversity programme in the centre.
The main duties of the role
To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.
- To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
- To assist the IntoUniversity Centre Leader in liaising with schools and other partner bodies, in organising the classroom and resources and in planning project delivery.
- To update and maintain IntoUniversity displays, publicity and resources.
- To work with the IntoUniversity Centre Leader to recruit children and young people to the programme, including after-school Academic Support and FOCUS Weeks.
- To develop educational resources and worksheets for use across all IntoUniversity programmes.
- To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including the Children’s Act, Children and Young People (Scotland) Act, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act, Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, and legislation and policies related to Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic team administrator to join our small, friendly and relaxed team at SCONUL, the professional association for academic and research libraries. The team currently works one to two days a week from our modern offices close to Euston station and the remainder of the week from home.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support across all aspects of the organisation’s work, including diary management, the organisation of meetings and supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme. It’s a role that provides scope for autonomy and to become involved in the full range of the organisation’s work and to develop a broad set of skills.
We are looking with someone with relevant office or administration experience who is well organised and with strong communication and IT skills. The role would suit someone who is self-motivated, flexible and happy to take the initiative.

Job description
Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Project Manager and SCONUL Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Organising the schedule of meetings for the SCONUL Board and SCONUL working Groups.
- Managing the diary of the Executive Director.
- Supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme including:
- answering routine queries from Access Scheme users, applicants and university administrators
- providing SCONUL Access contacts with timely and relevant information about the scheme
- providing routine technical support to applicants and university contacts responsible for processing applications and refer potentially more complex or disruptive technical problems
- drafting changes to website content to reflect the scheme’s current practice and procedures.
- Supporting the delivery of SCONUL events including:
- drafting and following up invitations to speakers and other participants with support from the Project Manager
- managing and processing events registrations
- booking accommodation and travel arrangements when required
- production of event documentation
- helping to manage events on site, including briefing and managing colleagues, volunteers, and external suppliers, supporting, advising and directing event participants.

- Currently not accessing a school but has a team of supporters supporting an Education Other Than School Package.

- This person is autistic and has ADHD. She has a positive self-identify around these diagnoses and celebrates being neurodivergent and being part of the neurodivergent community.
- This person has additional anxiety disorders that make her distressed by demands or feeling forced to do things, and this anxiety can lead to her not being able to communicate when she wants and needs to.
Under the direction from an advisory teacher with the input from the Psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy teams you will develop programmes of activity and provide these according to the young person's needs under the guidance of the team professionals.
You will provide advice, support and coaching for the young person and their family, under the guidance of the Therapy and Specialist Support (TSS) professionals. In addition you will attend meetings including MDT as required contributing to the young person's risk assessment and management plans ensuring that the young person is involved in their support planning wherever possible to facilitate their meaningful involvement in their progress.

Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse Prevention & Training Officer
Background to the post
Reducing the Risk is an Oxfordshire based charity committed to the safety and empowerment of victims of abuse and of those who support them - and to promoting partnership working. The charity acts as a safe, trustworthy, responsive and inclusive resource for victims and their families, through its services in Oxfordshire, and for volunteers and practitioners nationally through its consultancy and training.
In particular it has developed the Reducing the Risk DA Champion Network. This involves: multi agency training, supporting and linking front line practitioners from a range of services so that they can work together to reduce the risk and promote the wellbeing of victims and survivors.
The charity plans to develop its training service as a self-sustaining social enterprise. The Prevention & Training Officer will play a vital role in the development of the charity’s work.
Scope and purpose of the role
The post holder will be a key member of Reducing the Risk’s Training Team.
The post holder will focus on identifying, building and working in partnership with external partners, local stakeholders and communities regionally and nationally to support the entrepreneurial element of Reducing the Risk. They will, together with the Prevention & Training Manager and CEO, carry responsibility for the development of relationships and opportunities. They will expand and deliver Reducing the Risk’s training offers, scale out Reducing the Risk’s Network of DA Champions and support the development of new and existing stakeholder relationships.
They will also be expected both to design and deliver training and to organise and manage elements of Reducing the Risk’s training workload.
Reducing the Risk’s core values are integral to this post: providing advice, consultancy and training solutions which are safe, evaluated, and inclusive and which enable participants to achieve changes in their practice which increase safety and transform the lives of adults and children affected by abuse.

Administration & Operations

Provide general administrative support across the business.

Manage and maintain our CRM system, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.

Assist with scheduling school training and catch-up calls, document preparation, and email correspondence.

Content development for the new KS2 and KS3 curricula, including example sentence writing.

Create and format new resources such as worksheets and certificates.

Upload new content to the Vocabulous website.
Customer Engagement & Support

Respond to teacher enquiries by email or video call.

Help onboard new schools, including scheduling and leading basic online training sessions.

Monitor schools’ site usage and provide support to teachers via email.

Monitor teacher feedback and flag issues or opportunities for improvement.

Proactively recruit new schools to use Vocabulous and secure commitments from returning schools.
Marketing & Communications

Support the creation and scheduling of social media content.

Assist with email campaigns, newsletters, and website updates.

Contribute ideas for content, customer stories, and events that build our community.

Skills & Experience
Essential

We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping over 50,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.
We are looking for someone who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a fixed-term maternity cover contract as a part-time Education Worker at our centre in Edinburgh.

Working hours
18.75 hours a week, 2.5 days a week from the below:

Education Workers are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres.
Location
Edinburgh (Craigmillar)
The role requires intermittent travel in your region (usually within the day) this can involve journeys times of 1 hour+. Occasional travel out of your local area e.g. to London is also required, this may include overnight stays.
Salary
£28,250 per annum (pro rata).
Pro-rated salary is £14,125 per annum for 18.75 hours per week.

Full-time staff entitlement, pro-rated for part-time staff: 33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days)

What could my day look like?
The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.
In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.
As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

Our Team Leaders coordinate and run impactful and enjoyable volunteering events at which donated children's books are checked, organised and boxed for distribution by groups of corporate volunteers. They are responsible for managing all aspects of the day and also for helping ensure that the volunteers that attend understand the value of their contribution.
Our Team Leaders work as part of a team and are supported by Volunteer Coordinators at each session. Your role as a Team Leader will be to set overall objectives for the day, to brief your team at the outset and to ensure health and safety protocol is adopted.
Our volunteering events are received very positively by participants and are very well regarded by corporates, most of which choose to book with us on a repeat basis. The Team Leader is largely responsible for setting the tone of each day, for ensuring their effective management and for checking that all attendees can contribute and participate fully.
On any typical day with us this role might include:
- Briefing the Volunteer Coordinators so that they can support you
- Briefing the wider volunteer pool at the start of the session: introducing the rationale for our work and setting objectives
- Ensuring plans are achieved and completing necessary reporting.
We run two volunteering days a week at our Birmingham HQ and are looking for a Team Leader that can help run one or both of these days - opening up the unit, managing the session and helping us reach our gifting objectives.

ABOUT THE POLITICS PROJECT
We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK.
We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections.
The Politics Project delivers Digital Dialogue: Wales, which supports young people to have meaningful conversations with the politicians that represent them, building trust and relationships on both sides. Young people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in the democratic process through informed interactions with their elected representatives.
These interactions take place both online and in-person, in classrooms across Wales.
Since 2021 over 5550 young people, 130 teachers and 130 Welsh politicians (including the leaders of four political parties represented in the Senedd) have taken part in the programme.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Programme Coordinator will plan, arrange and facilitate Dialogue sessions, where learners question and discuss issues relevant to young people with their political representatives. The post holder will also support schools and colleges to deliver Youth Hustings for the 2026 Senedd and 2027 Local elections, giving learners the opportunity to meet, and ask questions to, candidates standing in their area.
The Politics Project wants Digital Dialogue: Wales to fundamentally change the way that young people and politicians interact across Wales. Help us to make sure that young people get their voices heard.
Working with the Head of Programmes and the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme Lead, the post holder would support the delivery and growth of Digital Dialogue: Wales, allowing more young people, teachers and politicians to take part. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.
While fluency in Welsh is preferred, it is not a requirement for this role.
The post holder will:
- Work with the Head of Programmes and the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme Lead to support the delivery of the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme.
- Provide online, and occasional in-school, support for teachers delivering Digital Dialogue, Youth Hustings, teacher and politician training sessions.
- Support the recruitment of teachers and local and national politicians across Wales to take part in the programme.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with those teachers and politicians.
- Manage and keep up to date the database, collecting and inputting information and producing reports when required. Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide administrative support for the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme and other programmes and activities delivered by The Politics Project.
The Politics Project is based in London, but the post holder for this role will be based in Wales. They will usually work from home, though we would expect the post holder to come to the London office once a month and attend in person meetings in Wales as required. It is an 18-month contract (including a 6-month probation period), with extension possible subject to funding. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required.

ABOUT YOU
You will have a passion for democratic education. You will be a self-starter, comfortable setting their own pace of work and managing their deadlines with only some supervision. You can form good relationships with a range of people from different backgrounds and perspectives. You can negotiate, persuade, problem solve and be flexible to meet stakeholder needs. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
You will be IT literate, comfortable working with video conferencing technology and other forms of digital communication.
Above all, you have outstanding organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work under pressure and identify priorities. You will effectively deliver against set targets to agreed deadlines.
In accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an enhanced DBS check that we will provide.
Also desirable, but not essential, would be:
