The Health Foundation is seeking a Senior Fellow to lead a complex and high-impact programme of work focused on employment, welfare, and health. Senior Youth Worker

Salary: £28,000–£32,000

Could you lead and inspire youth work across Wallingford and Didcot?

We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic youth worker to take a lead role in delivering and developing our youth provision in both towns. You’ll lead our youth provision in Wallingford, which includes open-access youth clubs, detached, an LGBTQ+ youth group and holiday activities. You’ll also deliver youth work in Didcot and support our wider team. You’ll supervise and develop volunteers, champion youth voice, and ensure our provision responds to young people’s ever-changing needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the community youth provision in Wallingford

• Delivering youth work sessions in Wallingford and Didcot across open-access, detached, outreach and mentoring provision

About the role

As a Policy Fellow, you will be a core member of our policy team, working across a mix of short and long-term projects. Your primary focus will be supporting senior leaders in shaping our strategy for 2026–2030, through:

• Horizon scanning to identify emerging trends and challenges.

Homelessness is a growing international challenge, yet lacks a unified global response. About the Organisation

The Depaul Group – made up internationally of seven charities and overseen by Depaul International – exists because we believe everyone deserves the dignity and security of a place to call home. The Depaul Group also has a key strategic relationship with the Ruff Institute of Global Homelessness (IGH) and the Famvin Homeless Alliance (FHA).

Depaul International (DPI) oversees the Group, ensuring the highest standards of service provision, governance, finance and helping develop capacity in areas including fundraising, communications and safeguarding. DPI currently consists of a team of 14.

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator to join the Scottish Regional Office team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

You will be responsible for providing specialist administrative support and undertaking virtual telephone casework across the whole of Scotland, working remotely with SSAFA branch volunteers and Regional Office colleagues to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to the Scottish Regional Office. You will work closely with the Regional Casework Managers and the Regional Manager.

The post is home-based and lone working with support from your line manager and team colleagues and you must have a fast, stable broadband connection in your proposed workspace. You may have to travel occasionally around Scotland or elsewhere in the UK; expenses will be paid.

About the team

In this role you will be working closely with volunteers from seventeen SSAFA branches across Scotland, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team which includes 2 Casework Managers and a Regional Manager and a team of Regional Casework Co-ordinators.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. The successful candidate will have experience of using their own initiative, planning and managing their workload with minimal supervision. You should be experienced at writing descriptive reports following a recommended structure. This role requires you to be a resilient person and it would be advantageous if you understand the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across Scotland would be valuable, but not essential.

The Community Development team at KCLSU are looking for a Data & Systems Administrator to provide our data and systems service to our 3,600 Community Leaders, Volunteers and Representatives who run Student Group Activity and represent their student community

About the role 

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers. 

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlining needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.  

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. 

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the West Midlands region, which includes:

Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire

There will be occasional travel around the West Midlands Region and you may be required to travel at short notice for face to face meetings.

About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the West Midlands, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The wider support team includes a Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Support Manager. 

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the West Midlands would be valuable.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Ewhurst Road team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living. 
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law.
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team.

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community. 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance). 

General 

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice.
