Principle responsibilities

1. Deliver person centred housing related support to clients that promotes their mental wellbeing and independence supporting them to progress to a life without the need for support. To work with clients in assessing their needs to create individual personal support and plans.

2. Ensure that anti-racism, equality and diversity are central to your work addressing disadvantage, inequalities, stigma and discrimination, making sure that you take action to reach people from marginalised or disadvantaged groups and that the services you provide match their needs.

3. To network effectively with voluntary and statutory agencies to promote the needs of the clients. Working with clients so that they have the knowledge, understanding and skills to access services, support and to improve their mental wellbeing and resilience. To refer to other agencies where possible if they are not eligible for the service

4. To assist clients with benefits and housing and employment to increase income and opportunities to be suitably housed, keeping up to date with the Social Security system and housing legislation, ensuring that clients are referred for specialist advice where appropriate.

5. Focus on client involvement ensuring that clients have their views heard and that the needs and wishes of service users have an impact on the services they receive.

6. Work as part of the Housing and Tenancy Support (HATS) Team and the wider Newport staff team to develop and deliver activities that achieve positive outcomes for migrants in Newport.

7. Ensure all work is recorded and monitored and contribute to evaluating the service.

8. Work in accordance with best practice, legal requirements, the policies of Mind in Gwent, and the policies outlined by the funders.

9. Share models of good practice to aid in organisational development across Mind in Gwent.

10.  To contribute to the work of other projects and teams of Newport Mind as when required or directed to provide cover or to develop new skills or take on new opportunities.

About the Role

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, support and coordination of our team of volunteers, working closely with operational managers and the volunteer team to ensure that volunteer activity contributes to PHQ’s charitable objectives and is enjoyable and fulfilling for the volunteer team.  There are currently over 100 volunteers whose work centres around Boathouse 4, our boat collection in the workshop and afloat on our pontoons, and care for Porters Garden, a calm space enjoyed by visitors and staff work in the dockyard.

This role involves operational planning, volunteer engagement, scheduling, and data management, with a strong focus on volunteer recognition, development, and communication.

We will consider applications for part-time employment for 30+ hours per week.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate prior experience of coordinating volunteer activity in the charitable sector, with good knowledge of safety and risk management procedures, and strong communication and organisational skills; underpinned by high level administrative and IT skills.

About the role

This role sits within The Passage Housing Needs Service (HNS) team. It will provide brief interventions to support individuals who have been placed into accommodation by the HNS team to settle into and sustain their tenancies. The post holder will work holistically to assist individuals to address issues that are impacting on their ability to sustain their accommodation on a time limited basis and will link them into services in their local areas for ongoing support in order for them to gain independence and integrate into their new communities.

Main duties

• To provide support to individuals who are moving into their new private rented sector accommodation where appropriate and needed. This can include setting up utilities, council tax among other things.
• To establish and develop positive and constructive working relationships with a range of services and agencies across London boroughs that can provide support to our clients ensuring the best possible outcomes for them.
• To assess any risk to clients, the environment and staff, record and communicate any risks identified using appropriate channels in the Passage.
• To ensure accurate and timely record keeping using the Inform database as well as client files and ensure all record keeping and information sharing is kept securely in line with Data protection.
• Support HNS Workers to complete exit questionnaires to gather feedback and promote co production with the individuals the team supports.
• To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.

Key responsibilities

The Opportunity

We are seeking passionate, caring individuals who are excellent team players and committed to providing high-quality, trauma-informed services for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

As a Domestic Abuse Support Practitioner (Children and Young People) within SafeNet’s community team, you will:

• Build trusted, supportive relationships with children and young people, working both one-to-one and in group settings, ensuring they feel heard, safe and empowered.
• Provide a high-quality, proactive frontline service to children and young people affected by domestic abuse, supporting their emotional wellbeing and helping them feel safe.
• Work closely with parents or carers, promoting healthy relationships and supporting families to recover together.
• Assess risk and complete safety and support plans that are child-centred and inclusive.
• Ensure all support is trauma-informed, accessible, and inclusive to reflect the diverse needs of the community.

What We’re Looking For

We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting and advocating for parents through Safeguarding/Child Protection processes and the Family Court System.
• The ability to work directly with children and young people, both individually and in group sessions, using creative and age-appropriate approaches to help them express themselves and recover from the impact of domestic abuse.
• A commitment to helping families rebuild relationships that may have been affected by abuse.
• Confidence in organising and facilitating structured activities for children aged 0–18, enabling learning, development, and fun in a safe environment.
• Experience of contributing to reports for Courts and Children’s Social Care conferences and meetings regarding the families you support.

Recovery Coordinator - Criminal Justice Location: based at different locations in Leeds  Salary: £24,242.40 - £30,790 per annum Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday About the role... We are currently looking for a Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator to join our expanding Criminal Justice team. The team provides support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance and/or alcohol use and whose lives have been touched by the criminal justice system, either by way of custodial sentence, mandated orders or conditional cautions. As a Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator, you will: Provide specialist, tailored support to enable service users to make positive changes. Have the appropriate knowledge and experience to motivate those facing challenging and often complex issues. Work collaboratively with colleagues based within prisons, probation, courts and police teams to offer a range of intensive support interventions to engage them with treatment services. Offer tailored guidance in minimising harmful behaviour along with more substantial support as required.  Be familiar with a person centred, holistic approach to treatment, ensuring that the package of care encompasses all areas of wellbeing with a view to achieving the best possible outcomes. About you... You will be an experienced substance use case manager looking for a fresh challenge or with interest in criminal justice. You will have experience of volunteering in a substance misuse and/or criminal justice sector (not essential). You will have a Level3 NVQ in Health and Social Care, or equivalent. You will have an understanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP. You will have experience delivering 1-2-1 and group therapeutic interventions. Who we are...
