About the role
The Chief Operating Officer has a pivotal role to play in the future of Church Army. This is a demanding role with the opportunity to shape and re-build this important charity for generations to come.
We are looking for a leader with excellent financial literacy, broad operational understanding, an ability to deliver vision and strategy, a clear Christian faith, and a commitment to seeing lives transformed through faith shared in words and action. He/she will sit on the Senior Leadership team and report to the CEO.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a learning disability charity for a Financial Controller, on a full-time, permanent basis. You will provide financial leadership and effective management of the charity's financial operations including Finance System administration, AR, AP, Treasury and Fixed Assets.
The organisation works on a hybrid working basis and requires you to be in the office one day per week.
As Financial Controller, you will:
- Oversee the month end process, working closely with all finance staff
- Work closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners with the preparation and consolidation of the monthly management accounts
- Support the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners during the annual budget cycle and ensure all budgets are agreed and implemented on the accounting system
- Manage the external audit and the year-end processes and complete statutory financial statements to draft stage in accordance with the Charities SORP including all working papers
- Actively oversee the management of the payroll function (including pensions) ensuring compliance with legislation and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of employee pay and third-party payments
The successful applicant will:
- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role
- Hold a professional accounting qualification - ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAEW or be part qualified (final year) or equivalent degree or QBE - Minimum 5 years in a similar senior finance role within the charity sector
- Have knowledge & experience of Charity accounts and SORP
- Have knowledge of payroll practice and a full understanding of HMRC requirements
- Have experience of people management within the finance functions
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

UK for UNHCR, the UK partner of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), is seeking an Individual Giving leader to shape the future of Individual Giving at the organisation and unlock long-term, sustainable income growth.
UNHCR stands alongside people forced to flee their homes, advocating for their rights and raising funds to support their protection, dignity and futures. UNHCR’s work has never been more important – by the end of 2024, a record 122.6 million people were displaced, with children accounting for 40% of all forcibly displaced people
UK for UNHCR (UK4U) builds solidarity and raises funds in the UK for refugees worldwide - last year UK4U raised a total income of £25.5 million and continues to build on strong foundations since its beginnings in 2019.
The charity is now seeking a Director of Individual Giving in a new and exciting opportunity to explore how UK4U can expand on these foundations, with a focus on increasing the sustainability of the donor base and maximising lifetime value, as well as identifying opportunities for transformational income growth.
The role will be responsible for leading a team of 12 people and strategic leadership for all fundraising from the UK public, including mid-value and legacy supporters, and covering both digital and offline channels. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant (ICAEW, CIPFA, ACCA, or equivalent) with senior finance experience who wants to use their expertise to make a real difference. The Repairs Manager will work as part of the Property Services team. Assuming day-to-day responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all repair and maintenance activities across all tenures (Supported, Unsupported, Intermediate and Market Rent).
Responsible for working collaboratively with the Customer Contact Centre to facilitate the timely and efficient completion of repairs and maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Offering technical expertise, whilst being a lead escalation for Contractor Management and Commercial Meetings.

The working hours for this role are 9.00 - 17.00, Monday - Friday.
