Organisational Change Manager

We are looking for an Organisational Change Manager to lead operational staff and volunteers to deliver significant strategic change and transformation across the operational, financial, facilities and hospitality function.

The role is based in a Christian Church community. All teams, including the staff team, pray together whenever they meet, sharing prayer and worship times throughout the working week. Therefore this role, has a genuine occupational requirement to ensure protection of the strong Christian ethos and values.

Position: Organisational Change Manager

Location: Crawley, West Sussex/Hybrid (flexibility for one day a week to be worked remotely)

Hours: Part Time, 3 days per week (25 hours per week (including regular Sundays; some evenings)

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 pro rata

Contract: 18 months Fixed Term Contract

The Role

This role will be a second chair role that will oversee the church’s social transformation work across the three parishes, enabling ministry to flourish and grow. You will ensure full legal and safeguarding compliance, steward resources with integrity, and co-lead agreed ministry areas in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team. As this is a faith-based role, the successful candidate must be a practising Christian who actively participates in the spiritual life of the church.

The role:

What you’ll be doing

If you were working with us, you would be leading a team of six Employment Specialists, providing day-to-day direction, supervision, and practical guidance to ensure excellent IPS practice. You would offer regular one-to-one supervision, in-field mentoring, training, and caseload management support. Your leadership would help the team deliver consistent quality and outcomes across the service.

You would work closely with clinical team leads, contract commissioners, and health partners, maintaining strong and positive relationships to support collaborative, client-led work. You would also contribute to improving performance by identifying challenges, supporting solutions, and modelling excellent IPS practice.

Data analysis and monthly reporting would form part of your responsibilities, ensuring that performance information is accurate, meaningful, and useful. You would work alongside the Operations Manager to monitor progress, address areas for improvement, and maintain high IPS fidelity. While the Operations Manager leads on quarterly reporting, your support and insight would be essential.

Although this is a busy and varied role, you would not be working alone. You would be supported by the Operations Manager and the wider Head Office team, with access to training, guidance, and practical help to enable you and your team to succeed.

What you’ll need

You do not need previous team management experience. Instead, we are looking for:

• Experience as an Employment Specialist or Senior Employment Specialist.

• A proven track record of achieving strong performance in outcomes and quality.

• Confidence demonstrating IPS principles and modelling good practice.

• Experience improving performance or supporting change, whether individually or across a team.

• Advantageous (but not essential): involvement in an IPS fidelity review.

• Monitoring of funding portfolio strategy development and delivery activity, including maintaining regular engagement with portfolio representatives.

• Experience of working with civil society, either working in a civil society organisation or in a supporting function (e.g. in a funding, consultancy or policy making body) with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
• Experience of managing competing priorities to ensure successful delivery of key pieces of work.
• Strong collaboration skills, able to work with a range of people at different levels within an organisation to shape plans and projects that reflect the interests of the organisation.
• Strong external engagement skills, able to proactively identify a range of relevant stakeholders, build and maintain relationships, and draw on knowledge and expertise to inform proposals and projects.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to draw on data and qualitative evidence to understand complex topics and shape evidence led proposals. 
• Strong communication skills, able to present complex topics clearly using a range of communication tools, in particular, able to write clear and succinct formal papers for senior leaders. 
• Strong project management skills, able to use a range of tools to set out clear and timely delivery plans, identifying appropriate milestones, risks and issues.

• Experience of working in a policy or strategy team, helping to set direction for an organisation or major programme of work

As cafés manager, you'll be responsible for the management and operation of our social enterprise activity in our two cafés, including the co-ordination of supervision, staffing, cleaning, development and promotion, and delivery of excellent standards of service. Our cafés, Nook and Idle, employ almost 30 student staff, and their training and development is a key part of our social enterprise model.

You'll need to be enthusiastic about training and supporting our ever-changing team of student staff, who have a mix of catering experience - from extensive to none whatsoever - and ensuring we maintin top-quality service.

As an advice caseworker, you’ll provide impartial advice to students on academic matters, and represent and support students in meetings and panels in more complex cases. You’ll use your experience to help us do more preventive work to help our students to take action on their own behalf. You’ll be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of activities and events, including establishing and working with student-led groups such as societies, communities, media and fundraising.
