You will lead the developing strategy of the Q Lab network and, working with others, will develop, test and lead thinking about how Q Lab’s work will support local systems as part of an exciting new area of Q’s work. There are a variety of annual special events that include but are not restricted to: Annual Charity Dinner, Armistice Address, Carol Services and Clay Shoot as well as Open Days, virtual events, AGM and the Secret Postcard Auction. The role also supports the other fundraising teams in the logistics, stewardship and administration of events, activities, data management and input and donor engagement tasks.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the Senior Events Officer with all fundraising and stewardship events including the production, delivery, logistics and administration of our key special events
• Work with Income stream Heads, when required, to manage their donor engagement and cultivation events and activities
• Update the events section of the Combat Stress website
• Assist in researching venues and suppliers for events
• Liaise with and relationship manage external suppliers (caterers, printers, florists, venues) regarding events
• Help manage all printed materials related to events including designers, printers and advertisers
• Help source prizes for the live and silent auctions
• Raise and manage invoices as directed
• Input and manage event administration on Raiser's Edge, always ensuring accurate records are maintained
• Process ticket applications and donations in lieu of tickets and ensure all supporters are thanked in a timely manner
• Attend events and assist the Senior Events Officer to ensure everything runs smoothly and all attendees at the event are well looked after. Some out of hours work is required

About Us:

Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing.  We provide in person and online activity groups and programmes, alternative provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision. We were established in 2019 and have since grown rapidly from a small startup to a robust small-medium  enterprise with a turnover of £250k and serving well over 400 beneficiaries a year.

All our work is firmly rooted in a ‘positive peer approach’, providing an enjoyable, pressure-free and beneficiary-centred space for connecting with others and exploring interests and hobbies in a place they can truly be themselves. We also facilitate light touch exploration of autism and the discovery and sharing of helpful tools and approaches for navigating the neurodivergent experience.

Our aim is to safeguard and enhance our beneficiaries’ wellbeing, build on their strengths, foster peer support and social networks and promote a positive outlook, whilst never dismissing the challenges they may face. Your key responsibilities will be maintaining user data on our learning management system, Owl, and responding to email enquiries in a prompt and professional way. We’re looking for an experienced, part-time volunteer coordinator to deliver our extensive volunteer programme, featuring our Older People’s Befriending projects, our group assistants, our administrative volunteers and other volunteer opportunities. 

What we do

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe. Set in a leafy heritage building and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Time & Talents is well-known for supporting isolated and lonely older people in the area. Our volunteer Befriending scheme is more than 40 years strong and helps around 75 housebound older people each year to have social contact they can rely on. Cycling Without Age (CWA), a newer branch of our volunteer work based on a Danish model, has transformed into Bicycle Befriending since the pandemic. Bicycle Befriending pairs trained cyclists with older people for regular rides round the parks in our specialist trishaws. The trishaws are also a big hit at our events! In addition to the Older Adults programme needs, we need volunteers each week to support our community groups and our administrative needs. Corporations often want to volunteer as teambuilding events or to help with our community offer, and this role plays a lead role as first point of contact for those queries as well. We are building our volunteer-driven offer whilst staying focused on our aims: ensuring that everyone feels part of a community and that no one is isolated or lonely.

The role

In this role, you’ll:

• Develop volunteering roles and projects in line with T&T’s aims across programme areas.

• Support programme areas to develop their volunteer roles and recruit, train and support those volunteers.

• Develop and coordinate the befriending and CWA projects at Time & Talents, including recruitment, training and support of volunteers and service users in these projects.

• Act as first point of contact for corporate volunteering inquiries.

There are 1.5 million children and young people with a disability (CYPD) in the UK.  Over three quarters cannot access regular leisure facilities which massively impacts their health and well-being. Furthermore, the impact of living with a disability can have a significant impact on the wider family, with over 72% of parents reporting mental health challenges and over two thirds saying they feel isolated some or all of the time.

Gympanzees’ mission is simple. We want all children and young people living with a disability to have access to high-quality, fully inclusive leisure facilities so that they can enjoy fun, fitness, and friendships and support their families out of isolation.

Sounds simple, but it’s a huge task.  There is nowhere in the UK like this. Anywhere. At all.  But we’re changing that, and we want you to join us!

Since 2018 we’ve been hosting Pop Up’s during easter and summer months, across Bristol, in various special schools which has seen us welcome over 23,500 visitors.  Each one has helped hone and improve our delivery model, and longer-term plans.  These Pop Ups have seen some incredible firsts, including:

· A 6 year old taking their first steps

· A 12 year old sleeping through the night for the first time

· A 3 year old having his first laugh

· An 8 year old rolling over for the first time

Families have travelled from all over the country to enjoy the Pop Ups, some covering 6-hour journeys just for their afternoon of fun!

During COVID we quickly adapted our offer to include a Lending Library which continues to this day, offering nearly 300 items of specialist equipment, free of charge.

In 2023 we purchased a new site to develop into a permanent home which will open in summer 2026.  Redevelopment is underway, and so too is an £8 million campaign to support this extraordinary project.

Where you’d fit in

Gympanzees is a growing team which currently consists of 16.  The fundraising team consists of 6 people.  This role is a crucial member of the fundraising team and will be delivering on a vital income stream that is both financially and strategically significant for the capital project.

Job description

As the Senior Fundraising Manager for Trusts and Statutory, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital income from across these funding streams, whilst leading a small team to maximise their own fundraising efforts from similar sources.

This position is ideal for someone with proven experience in researching and crafting successful grant applications from both traditional grants as well as local and national statutory source.  It will especially appeal to those with capital campaign experience but is not a pre-requisite.

You'll be tasked with distilling complex information into compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and objectives while aligning with grant requirements. Excellent copywriting skills are essential, as you'll need to create engaging and informative content that tells our story authentically and passionately.

Your approach will be highly organised and methodical to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant briefs. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, you'll collaborate closely with a high-level fundraising team to maximize funding opportunities and drive positive impact.  Additionally, you shall line manager the Trust and Foundations Manager.

5. Budgeting and Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop project budgets, monitor spending against grants, and ensure accurate financial reporting to funders.

6. Grant Compliance: Ensure compliance with grant agreements, reporting requirements, and regulatory guidelines, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to fulfill reporting obligations.

7. Grant Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of grant-funded projects, collecting and analyzing data to assess outcomes and inform future funding strategies.

8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with program managers, finance staff, and other team members to align funding strategies with organizational priorities and project needs.

Skills you’ll need

At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for a Head of Governance and Compliance to join our team.

You'll play a crucial role, ensuring best practice governance and compliance is embedded in Ambitious about Autism and the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust. You'll develop and implement high-quality monitoring and reporting policies and systems, promoting excellent governance and maintaining compliance with all external regulatory requirements.

You'll work closely with colleagues in the Executive Teams and wider Senior Management Team, as well as ensuring the Board is meeting its responsibilities and receiving high quality information and support from the staff team. You'll also contribute to the development of the organisation's overall strategy and operational plan, as a member of the Senior Management Team.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Demonstrable experience in managing the governance of an organisation.
• Up to date knowledge of either or both of Charity Commission, Care Quality Commission and Department for Education regulatory environments.
• Proven knowledge and experience in governance and compliance, working at a senior level with Trustees and senior leaders.
• In depth knowledge of statutory reporting procedures and record keeping.

Working requirements, salary & benefits

• Salary between £22,000 and £24,000 dependant on location and experience, plus pension scheme
• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days)
• One year fixed term contract; we aim to support all Graduate coaches to progress to other roles with us after this initial year, with development towards management level within 3 years. 
• Occasional evening working required (for events such as termly Spear Celebration evenings)
• For most centres there is a requirement to become part of the partner church congregation, and you will be expected to participate in church team events as well as wider Resurgo team events, including weekly staff prayer meetings and annual staff conferences in summer and winter (one residential)
• A DBS check will be requested in the event of a job offer
