Job Responsibilities and Duties 

• To establish a fundraising strategy and ensure fundraising compliance.
• To generate income from individual donors at the low, mid and major gift level. To support the Executive Trustee steward existing, and cultivate new, major donors.
• To research and develop a trust and foundation pipeline and prepare and submit grant applications and draft progress reports
• To grow our income and diversify our donor pool through targeted campaigns
• To grow our network – including influencers and organisations that can help to raise our profile
• To ensure appropriate stewardship processes are in place so that donors at all levels feel well thanked and informed of their impact.
• To grow our presence amongst small to medium businesses, London schools and local residents
• To build partnerships with businesses to extend our profile and find new funding opportunities
• To effectively engage schools and businesses to support the Foundation, to raise awareness and help raise funds
• To liaise with the team on a regular basis to explore better community engagement, local connections, and fundraising opportunities
• To report regularly to the Board on income, prospects, and strategic objectives in alignment with our objectives
• To help foster a positive culture of fundraising across the organisation
• To promote the MEF widely, through the written word and social media

Fundraising Manager – Income Generation and Marketing & Communications  

Local Government Scale: P02 SCP 30-33 £38,936.70 to £41,961.97 pa FTE for 35 hours per week (pro rata for part time),  including London Weighting plus 6% contributory pension.  21 to 35 hours per week. Permanent 

Age UK Camden is a local, independent and innovative charity which has provided services to older people in Camden for more than 50 years through diverse and inclusive services.  These services are highly valued by the residents of Camden and the voluntary and statutory sectors.  

 We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Fundraising Manager to work with us in Camden’s largest charity working with older people. 

This will be an exciting opportunity to diversify your skills in order to manage a portfolio of work that ranges from Fundraising, Income Generation in areas such as our Charity Retail Shop, our Marketing and Communications and our Community and Corporate Engagement,  You will line manage a dedicated and skilled team who work to deliver in all of these areas.  You will also work closely with the CEO and the external bid writer who focuses on funding from Trusts and Grants. 

The successful candidate will be experienced in a range of fundraising channels as well as having excellent communication skills in order to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of audiences as well as internally with your team and the wider staff group.

Finance Officer – Sales Ledger

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual to join the Finance Team as a Finance Officer working on the sales ledger.

The post holder will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, processing income types including membership fees, grants and donations. They will be required to collaborate with Butterfly Conservation’s branches, reconcile income and maintain control accounts. Duties will also include being responsible for handling invoicing and banking procedures maintaining strict financial controls whilst also demonstrating exceptional customer service.

You will have proven financial experience preferably having worked within a charitable setting focusing on sales ledger management. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and financial software are also essential requirements of the postholder together with effective communication skills when liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Flexibility will also be required to support system implementations and covering other work within the department, when required.

Reporting to our Communications Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Communications Strategy, crafting content across a range of platforms including The Pilgrims’ Magazine, our website, newsletters and social media.

Strong writing skills are an absolute must for this role, as is a keen eye for design and high levels of digital literacy. As an adept communicator with excellent attention to detail, you’ll be able to turn your hand to anything, from magazine features to short form videos, keeping abreast of the latest trends.

A natural people person with innate curiosity, you’ll embrace opportunities to visit our care homes and housing schemes and capture the stories of life with us – not just those of the older people who live there, but also those of our brilliant staff and volunteers. You’ll then devise creative ways to share these stories so they connect with our different audiences, from prospective residents to new supporters and beyond.

A self-starter, you’ll need to be able to work independently within agreed brand guidelines and with minimal supervision. You’ll also need to be highly organised, ensuring that deadlines are met and that content lands in a timely manner. Through analytics, you’ll monitor engagement, using these insights to inform our evolving content plan and drive growth.

As well as creating compelling content for our core communications platforms, you’ll also provide valuable support to our ambitious press plan, helping to amplify the voice of Pilgrims’ Friend Society in local and national media.

The Senior Finance Officer is a key role working alongside the Finance Business Partner for ClientEarth’s Business Services and External Affairs teams (BS and EA) to assist in the production of the monthly management accounts, providing support to our budget holders and to a busy finance team.

This new role has been created due to an internal promotion. If you are actively studying for your ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification this role offers you study support while learning on the job, all while helping an environmental charity deliver on its mission of using the power of the law to protect life on Earth. 

You will join a finance team currently totalling 23 colleagues working across our offices in London, Brussels, Warsaw, Berlin, Madrid, Tokyo and Beijing.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Kasheena Paryag. In 2017, Kasheena started her career in the non profit sector and has had various finance roles in both charities and grant making organisations since. Kasheena joined ClientEarth in March 2022 and is based in our London Office. As a Finance Business Partner, Kasheena is the main point of contact for our CEO, Business Services and External Affairs departments, and works closely with these teams.

Main Duties

• Management Reporting - Support in the timely and accurate production of monthly management reporting from Workday Adaptive taking responsibility for running the reports for a number of budget departments.
• Budgeting and Forecasting - Support, as appropriate, with annual budget setting, entity budgets, monthly forecasting, process improvements and budget assumptions including Adaptive Planning modelling. 
• Data Integrity - Ensuring accurate coding of transactions, raising and responding to queries from budget holders. 

Role requirements

• Actively studying for ACA/ACCA/CIMA. Study support provided
• Experience of working with Access Dimensions, FocalPoint, Workday Adaptive or other similar accounting packages
• Experience of managing deadlines through a financial month end process 
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly of large excel spreadsheet functionality including lookups, pivot tables, data sorting

The Chief Operations Officer will lead day-to-day operations, provide additional capacity at a pivotal time, update policies and processes, and ensure the organisation runs smoothly and efficiently, and keeps improving. This is a small team, so leaders need to enjoy covering a wide range of duties, from the strategic to hands-on. The role will involve close collaboration with the CEO.   

Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who has successfully led a team and can build relationships at all levels. You will have strong experience in charity financial management, significant operational experience ideally within the charity sector, including HR and people, improving policies and systems, and charity governance. You will be a highly motivated and driven self-starter, able to adapt quickly when priorities change. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of leading internal organisation communications and creating high level reports and presentations. You will also have experience of implementing equality and human rights standards, for example the social work model of disability and anti-racist practices, throughout all areas of work. The ideal candidate may understand key concepts of structural inequality, combined with insight into your own experiences of advantage and disadvantage, and sensitivity and empathy to the rights and needs of colleagues.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Legal Officer to advise and help improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum, and help change the asylum and immigration system to one that treats everyone with compassion, dignity and respect.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with valid practising certificate, or already accredited to Level 3 OISC, with two years’ experience in providing advice and representation in asylum including working in legal aid.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the legal advice service. Under the guidance of our Legal Service Manager, you will also build capacity amongst legal representatives by designing and delivering training, giving second tier advice and developing and coordinating a network of practitioners working in this area. You will use the knowledge you gain in this role to help deliver Rainbow Migration’s policy work, such as inputting into policy papers and meeting with partner organisations when required.

We will also consider applications from people who do not want to do the policy elements of the job, but to instead focus on first and second tier advice. Please mention in your covering letter if you are applying for this option.

This is a unique opportunity to build on your experience as a lawyer to improve representation across the sector and create change in government policy and practice. You will be supported to develop as a specialist lawyer and in your policy skills.

Responsibilities will include:

· Deliver one-off advice to adult LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and work with colleagues to refer them to quality legal aid and pro bono lawyers

· Provide casework assistance e.g. helping to prepare witness statements, making referrals to other specialist organisations and taking other urgent steps (whilst not representing service users or maintaining a caseload)

· Provide occasional advice (within competence) on other issues affecting asylum and partnership service users such as asylum support, legal aid, trafficking, family reunion or community care

· Deliver second tier advice to the legal representatives of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and other charities and professionals

· Work with the Legal Service Manager to design and deliver training to lawyers, NGOs and other professionals

· Write blogs and articles on asylum and immigration policy and legislation as they apply to LGBTQI+ people

· Contribute to policy and briefing papers

· Assist with preparing guidelines and briefings for legal services and pro bono lawyers

The Legal Officer will not be providing direct legal representation of service users. However, the role includes substantive advice and casework within the scope of legal support and referrals for our service users, as well as merits testing and second tier advice.

Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s offices in central London. Hybrid working will also be considered. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. Sibling Arts C.I.C. co-creates multi-arts projects with queer, trans, sex worker & migrant communities. Looking for a Finance & Administration Officer (FAO to lead on our financial and administrative needs, and grow with us as we do more ambitious projects with social impact at their core.

• Delivering trans/non-binary hxstory via storytelling to young people KS3 & teacher training

We are looking for a skilled, dynamic and conscientious individual to lead on our financial and administrative needs, and work with us to grow our organisation.

You will be one of four core staff roles in the organisation. After the first year there may be space for role to develop and expand.

You will lead on financial management, working closely with Directors to develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy.

The role will also feature core administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the organisation across contracting, insurance, monitoring equipment/assets and saving costs.

We are looking for someone excited to be part of an ambitious over-achieving, under-recognised young organisation in the arts.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Strategy and Management

• Co-creating and monitoring budgets, org-wide and for projects

• Monitoring multiple income streams inc. sales, grants, investments

• Co-designing core/project accounting ledgers to facilitate reporting and monitor metrics

• Streamlining and automating systems, training staff in how to use them

• Support the process of becoming a C.I.O. and adapting finance and reporting systems for new level of requirements

• Managing cashflow and reserves to manage risk.

 

Reporting

• Reporting to HMRC, Companies House and the Charity Commission

• Liaising with our accountant to get the best systems in place for ease and accuracy of reporting and accounting

• Reporting to multiple funders with different priorities and expense restrictions

• Creating an automated financial reporting system that tracks costs across core, projects, and different funding streams for each

• Overseeing compliance with HMRC including VAT, PAYE and accessing tax benefits such as Theatre Tax Relief (TTR) alongside our accountant.

 

Administration

• Compiling and digitising receipts and invoices

• Setting up staff and project producer expense accounts where necessary

• Liaising with banking and ensuring staff access to online and card payment

• Creating and using new reference administrative reference systems and filing systems.

 

Human Resources

• Communicating with our community members, artists and staff about invoicing requirements and payment details, mindful of individuals’ complex needs

• Overseeing setup and budgeting of employment benefits, bonuses, commission, freelance contracts and how to integrate these

• Overseeing creation of a platform for communicating financials transparently to our community of marginalised artists (longer term)

 

Funding Support

• Note: this is a support role as one of the Artistic Directors will spearhead new funding applications, you will not be applying independently

• Researching and identifying new funding streams, archiving applications, making templates

• Seeking advice from current funders and NGO partners about where to apply

• Tracking funding applications, reporting deadlines, meeting financial requirements

• Following-up on investors, scheduling regular communications with Artistic Directors.
   

Essential skills and requirements

• Proficiency with Mac and Windows

We are seeking an organised and driven individual for a maternity cover to lead on our education and training programme, which is facilitating the growth of a talented workforce by inspiring, connecting and retaining the next generation. This is a varied role with a significant focus on events and project management, including special events, as well as engagement activities to raise awareness of career opportunities in the industry. Job Purpose

Events

• Young Furniture Makers Exhibition - To plan, organise and deliver the annual one-day exhibition showcasing the best new talent to industry. Securing event sponsorship and working with sponsors during the organisation process to ensure positive relationships. Working with over 70 exhibitors, multiple sponsors and external suppliers to ensure a successful event.
• Young Professional Industry Engagement event programme - To plan, organise and deliver the annual three-week programme of CPD visits for a selected group of participants to industry hosts across the UK. Working with participants and over 20 organisations to schedule and deliver the programme.
• Furniture Making T-Level conference – Working with the Chair of the Education and Training Committee and selected members to plan, organise and implement a one-day conference on the practicalities of overing the Furniture T-Level in an educational setting.
• Organise and attend several regional career fairs and trade shows to promote the education and training initiatives and encourage young people to consider a career in furniture and furnishings.
• Plan and organise the content of an Education and Training slot at the annual Furniture Makers’ HR Conference to highlight key events and programmes.
• Ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion is considered in all aspects of Education and Training events.

Grants

• Administer a small annual grants scheme supporting colleges and universities which provide specialist furniture and furnishing education courses.
• Manage a travel bursary scheme to support exhibitors attending the Young Furniture Makers Exhibition.

Website

• Administer the jobs board featured on the My Furniture Career website, screening and approving posted vacancies as well as liaising with those posting jobs to confirm the status of the vacancy, sharing data once the vacancy expires and collecting feedback data from the poster.
• To work with the Digital Officer to agree a schedule of content for the website and its associated social media.
• Work with the Communications Manager and Digital Officer to promote the use of the website by the targeted audience group as well as the HR community to post vacancies to the jobs board.
• Produce a quarterly report detailing the usage and any highlights regarding the website.
• Report any technical issues to the website provider and liaise with them to fix the issue.

Reporting

• Quarterly reporting on activity and budget to the Education and Training Committee.
• Supporting the Committee Chair by setting up Committee meetings and taking minutes.
• Supporting the Committee Chair with any other administration as necessary related to the Committee. 
• Assist with any ad hoc administration as necessary related to the FIESTA Committee.

Miscellaneous

• Assisting the Education and Training Committee Chair with any administration in regard to the Masters Certificate Scheme.
• Send quarterly feedback surveys mentoring participants and collect the data for reporting purposes.

Fundraising

• Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
• Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
• Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
