This role will play a significant in making that happen via: 

• Identifying and securing new customers.

• Retaining and growing income from our current customers.

Previous experience in a business development, or sales role is essential as well as good knowledge of the education systems in the UK. Ideally you will be based within or near the West Midlands, South West or Wales due to potential travel requirements in these regions.

Role summary: 

 Role purpose: 

Retain and grow relationships with existing centres through tailored engagement strategies that drive programme registrations and increase impact. 

• Identify and convert new opportunities through proactive outreach, lead generation, and effective nurture tactics to deliver new business income. 

• Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a high-quality centre experience that builds trust and long-term loyalty. 

 Key responsibilities: 

 Retain and grow existing centre relationships 

• Manage a portfolio of existing centres, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement aligned to their needs, delivery patterns, and growth potential. 

• Deliver against annual centre income targets by supporting centres to continue and expand programme delivery. 

• Develop and implement tailored engagement plans that reflect sector priorities, sector and programme maturity, and centre feedback. 

• Analyse Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards to identify retention risks, spot growth opportunities, and respond to trends with proactive support. 

• Coordinate requalification conversations and re-engagement activity to sustain long-term partnerships. 

 Generate and convert new business 

• Identify and research high-potential leads across your allocated sectors (e.g., secondary, Wales, community, international schools) using BI and CRM insights, sector intelligence, and marketing-generated activity. 

• Plan and deliver proactive outreach activity via a Sector, Segment and Region Development Plans. 

• Build and maintain a personal pipeline of prospects and log progress regularly updating conversion insight and forecasts. 

• Support new centre onboarding, from initial conversations through to registration and early delivery support. 

• Collaborate with Marketing on lead nurture campaigns, sales funnel activities, and content that targets sector-specific priorities. 

Deliver outstanding customer experience 

• Proactively communicate and engage with customers to support their delivery of Leadership Skills Foundation programmes. 

• Serve as a primary point of contact for your centres, responding promptly and professionally to queries, issues, and feedback. 

• Ensure every interaction reflects the Leadership Skills Foundation’s values. 

• Proactively use our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain consistent and accurate records of communications, registrations, and engagement history. 

• Support customer feedback collection and contribute to the analysis of satisfaction and improvement opportunities. 

• Champion a customer-first mindset and share insight to improve performance against our customer experience objectives. 

Use data, systems, and insight to drive decisions 

• Regularly review and report on programme performance, income data, and registration trends for your assigned centres and sectors. 

• Use BI dashboards and management reports to inform your planning, prioritisation, and stakeholder engagement. 

• Report on your own progress against KPIs and contribute to departmental performance reviews and forecasting activities. 

• Use our CRM systems and workflow as a planning and prioritisation tools to anticipate risk and drive quality interactions and personal efficiency. 

 Collaborate across teams and support innovation 

• Work closely with key teams to plan and coordinate campaigns, messaging, and respond to customer feedback. 

• Feedback insight from centres to inform programme development and sector-specific improvements. 

• Contribute to team planning meetings, training sessions, and department-wide initiatives. 

• Support the induction of new team members and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team culture. 

 Skills, experience, and knowledge 

 Essential 

Previous experience in a customer supporting role, with an emphasis on relationship management and customer experience.  

• An understanding of education systems in the UK. 

• An understanding of initiating prospect engagement, business development strategies and meeting sales targets. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

• Experience of working on own initiative and being a self-starter. 

• Confidence in presenting externally to customers and partners. 

• Experience of working with CRM systems, sales forecasting tools, and Management Information systems. 

• Analytical thinking and evaluation skills, with the ability to interpret data and performance metrics to support decision making.

•Manage the cover and answer information enquiries including helpline and online, on safer sleep responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

•Manage and facilitate the Young Parent Panel and New Families Panel in collaboration with other specialist organisations and charities; keeping in contact, recruiting new members, arranging meetings, focus groups and user testing and feedback on resources and activities.

•To be a representative for media work promoting safer sleep advice, including radio, tv, pre-recorded and live media.

•Work with other teams to reach more families including on projects focussing on high risk groups and under-represented families.

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities

Manage the DUK project portfolio

• Become a subject matter expert in applied and translational research in DMD, allowing informed decision making and effective communication with key stakeholders
• Support identification of new project and collaborative opportunities, including the ongoing management and delivery of our applicant-led funding call
• Support the Director of Research and Development in project scientific review, working with the Scientific Advisory Board, Patient Advisory Board, Senior Leadership Team and DUK Board of Trustees
• Manage project development and initiation, including contracting, the development of detailed project plans, including go/no-go milestones, and budgets
• Manage and oversee project delivery, including monitoring of progress, according to agreed timelines and deliverables (including written updates and formal reports), and managing project finances, including reviewing and approval of invoices and monitoring project expenditure
• Support research budget forecasting in liaison with the finance team and the Director of Research and Development, and ensure compliance across the project portfolio
• Build and manage relationships with external partners and maintain regular communication through the project life cycle
• Support the Director of Research and Development to identify areas of strategic focus to inform the development of new research programmes
• Contribute to and support the development of DUK led research proposals for external funding and work with the income generation team to identify opportunities for research funding

Research governance and processes

• Maintain and improve, as relevant, internal processes for research management and governance
• Act as system owner for the research functions within DUK’s CRM (Salesforce), maintaining records and driving process improvements for grant workflows and monitoring
• Support the Director of Research and Development in research governance activities
• Support the Director of Research and Development to ensure compliance with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) requirements, such as - contributing to annual data collection and surveys; implementation of AMRC processes and reviews recommendations, as relevant; keep up to date with relevant news and opportunities for training, collaboration and networking

Support the Director of Research and Development on the following external engagement activities

• Development and implementation of outreach and engagement activities in the DMD patient and research community to inform areas for research focus and prioritisation
• Scoping and development of formal and informal strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholder organisations (e.g. membership societies, other charities, consortia etc)

Support delivery of DUK flagship strategic programmes

DUK has strategic programmes in clinical research access and capacity, care standards and care access, assistive technologies and patient data. Under the oversight of the Director of Research and Development and working closely with the relevant programme team:

• Coordinate key programme updates and discussions between the DUK team and the programme teams
• Working with DUK comms team, support the development of external comms and marketing
• Working with the Director of Research and Development and the programme teams, support development of new initiatives and external funding opportunities

Other key responsibilities

• Provide general research admin support (e.g. arrange research meetings, both internal and external, prepare agendas and take minutes)
• Work with DUK comms team to identify case studies and success stories and support the development of the research comms strategy
• Coordinate research comms and work with the Director of Research and Development and comms team to ensure all research content is accurate and appropriate
• Work with the income generation and comms teams to provide updates to our key co-funding partners
• Support the collection of portfolio data across all programmes for DUK KPIs and to support DUK impact report development
• Coordinate and deliver research led events and support the Director of Research and Development in the agenda and content development for the annual Duchenne UK New Horizons conference
• Travel across the UK to attend meetings with partners

The Impact Manager will provide professional leadership for research, evaluation and evidence generation across activities. The postholder will lead the development of robust evaluation approaches, ensure methodological quality, support organisational learning and oversee the work of Impact Researchers operating within place and thematic structures.

CAHN is seeking an ambitious, creative and experienced Head of Fundraising & Events to lead our fundraising and events portfolio and help drive the organisation’s next phase of growth.

You will lead fundraising development, identify new income opportunities, build strong relationships with funders, corporate partners and supporters, and deliver high-profile events that generate income, engagement and impact.

Working closely with senior colleagues and external stakeholders, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to grow sustainable income, strengthen partnerships and maximise opportunities for CAHN.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join us at an important time for CIPD and our Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Director and managing four direct reports, you will take responsibility for financial control across the organisation and our international entities.

There is a lot happening at CIPD. We are changing some of our core systems, including those supporting our membership and qualifications, and we want to use this as an opportunity to improve the way Finance works across the organisation.

The Financial Controller will be central to this.

You will lead on financial controls, statutory reporting and audit, treasury, cash management and the integrity of our balance sheet and ledgers. Just as importantly, we want you to look at how we do things today and help us make them better – strengthening processes, improving controls and making sure we get the most from our systems (Netsuite and Salesforce).

This is a hands-on role. We aren't looking for someone who wants to manage from a distance. You will need to be comfortable getting into the detail, understanding where something isn't working and seeing it through to resolution. At the same time, you'll lead and develop a team of eight, helping them take greater ownership and continue to raise standards across the function.

You will also work closely with the Head of FP&A and colleagues across CIPD. A big part of the role will be building good relationships outside Finance and helping people understand why strong financial management matters.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of working in a complex organisation.

You'll have a good grounding in financial control and statutory reporting, but we're particularly interested in people who have improved things rather than simply maintained them.

You may have strengthened a control environment, improved a year-end process, introduced better balance sheet disciplines, supported a finance system implementation or redesigned financial processes. You'll understand what good looks like and be able to bring people with you when things need to change.

You'll also be an experienced people manager. We want someone who enjoys developing a team, sets clear expectations and is prepared to roll their sleeves up when needed.

Experience of working across multiple entities or international operations would be valuable, as would experience of NetSuite, Salesforce or finance transformation.

We are looking for a new Director of Finance & Resources to help us build on that work and plan confidently for the future.

This is an important appointment at an exciting point in the Academy’s development. We will celebrate our 125th anniversary in 2027, following a period in which we have grown our policy work, transformed our building to create more opportunities for public engagement and developed a national network for early career researchers.

As Director of Finance & Resources, you will make sure we have the resources, systems and organisational capacity to deliver our ambitions. You will lead our finance function and have overall responsibility for HR, IT & AV, Estates & Facilities, and Venue Sales & Marketing, working with experienced Heads of Department across each area.

Finance will be central to the role. You will lead our financial strategy and planning, oversee our financial controls and reporting, and provide clear advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team, Council and its committees. You will also help us think longer term about our financial sustainability, including our plans to diversify income through philanthropy and commercial activity.

But we are looking for more than a strong Finance Director. You will be part of a close-knit Senior Management Team which works collectively to lead the Academy. We want someone who is interested in the organisation as a whole, who enjoys working across boundaries and who can help colleagues make good decisions about where we put our people, money and attention.

You will also have responsibility for some important assets. These include our historic home at 10–11 Carlton House Terrace, our technology and infrastructure, and our trading subsidiary. Ultimately, your job will be to make sure these resources are working as hard as possible in support of the Academy’s purpose.

About you

You will be a CCAB-qualified accountant with substantial and senior finance experience, gained in a complex organisation. You will have led finance teams and significant budgets and be comfortable advising senior leaders, Boards or Trustees.

You will also bring broader leadership experience. You may already have responsibility beyond finance, or have worked closely with areas such as people, operations, estates or technology.

We are looking for someone who can combine sound financial judgement with a practical, collaborative approach. You will be able to deal with complexity without making things unnecessarily complicated, communicate clearly with people who are not finance specialists, and provide constructive challenge when it is needed.

You should also be someone who enjoys leading through others. There are strong Heads of Department across the Resources portfolio, so this isn't about being the expert in every area. It is about setting direction, asking good questions, supporting people to succeed and bringing the different parts of the portfolio together.
