Job description

What will you do

You will work closely the Director of Finance & Administration to provide high quality financial management for Headway and to ensure adherence to legislative requirements, statutory deadlines and high professional standards

You will do this by:

  • ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded on Exchequer in a timely manner.
  • ensuring that all control account reconciliations are completed every month and that any necessary adjustments are made in Exchequer
  • completing the month-end close and prepare the first draft of the monthly management accounts for departments and the consolidated group accounts for presentation to and review by the Director of Finance & Administration
  • providing accurate and timely financial information to assist in management decision making

About you

We’re open-minded & welcome all applicants who believe they can succeed. Though ideally, you will:

  • have a professional accountancy qualification
  • have a minimum of five years’ experience working in finance
  • be able to manage your workload and priorities independently
  • have strong communications skills including the ability to explain financial information clearly & patiently to non-finance staff
  • have strong overall IT skills and the willingness to further develop them
  • be able to work as part of a team supporting and contributing to the overall success of the department and Headway
